I cannot even begin to describe how nasty this Del Rancho sandwich taste. It is the absolute worst Del Rancho sandwich, on the planet I have ever eaten. And I have eaten a lot of Del Rancho sandwiches. I am driving to the Del Rancho on Southwest 59th and Santa Fe... right now m... to get a real Del Rancho sandwich. This Del Rancho sandwich that i just got at the Norman location is very small, the portion is half the size that it is supposed to be. It taste under cooked, under fried. The batter on the sandwich taste like dirty grease.. I took one bite and spat in in a napkin and almost gagged, right in my car. I just Pulled into my favorite location on 59th and Santa Fe. I have never been disappointed here. Like one of the staff told me at one time, "This is the best Del Rancho... And I found that to be very true. Even more so now... Allow me to eat this sandwich and then I will tell you if the world has ended by a possible change in the recipe. We now return to our regularly scheduled program... My husband and i split the supreme steak sandwich with mayo instead of miracle whip. We are from Texas so we are used to good chicken fried steak. This sandwich was very good and it was huge! The steak was hanging out of the bun! Yummy! read more

I heard the portions were ginormous so the boo and I split a Chicken Fried Steak Dinner with corn nuggets and a dinner salad. We also ordered the cheese fries. The cheese fries were piping hot and fresh. No cheese whiz (thank goodness, I was holding my breath as the boo opened up our take out box of fries) just good ol' melty cheddar cheese *drools* The corn nuggets are not corn bread hush puppies. It's basically a fried ball of creamed corn, which were very tasty! The salad wasn't all that great-- wilted lettuce. Ranch dressing was OK. On the west end of Lyndsey near the interstate, this old-fashioned drive-up has the best chicken fried steak sandwich. Got to try the melt-in-your-mouth, tender, dinner-plate-sized chicken fried sandwich with lettuce, tomato, and miracle whip. Onion rings were excellent also. read more

This place is a place you just have to try! I did not expect much from here, but when I got my order, which was the steak sandwich supreme. I was amazed at how good the portions were. Del Rancho does one thing awesome, and that's chicken-fried steak sandwiches. HUGE ones. I don't often eat at DR (which is probably good for my health) but when I do it's always great. They're also open on Christmas Eve, so my mom & sis and I have dubbed it our go-to place after church that night (since nowhere else is open & we're always hungry after the service). I suppose they also do other types of sandwiches, but I've always gotten the steak ones... Definitely try this place if you're a fan of either a) meat, b) things that are meaty and fried or c) things that are meaty and fried on sandwiches. Whoa....finally tried this place out. Someone coulda warned a sista that the sandwiches were HUGE!!! I couldn't finish it. Wasted money on my fries, b/c I was so full with just have the sandwich. (Yeah, Im one of those weird ppl who eats the sandwich first, then eat the fries). *shrugs* I ordered the chicken sandwich supreme and ordered the steak sandwich supreme for the hubby. The kiddos got the grilled cheese kids meals. The chicken was seasoned well, juicy on the inside and crunchy on the outside. One of the best chicken sandwiches I've ever had. I had a bite of the hubby's steak sandwich and it was super good. This is one of the places that you cannot NOT go visit, but I'm going to have to limit it to maybe once a month. Although I've often made fun of our local cuisine's tendency to deep fry things and cover them in gravy, I have nothing but good things to say about Del Rancho. I go here when I'm in need of a guilty pleasure... And oh man does the Steak Sandwich Supreme deliver that. Basically think of a chicken fried steak sandwiched between two buns and that is what we are talking about here. The bread batter they use is just perfect. This place is a drive-in only, no indoor seating, but from where I usually park I can see into the restaurant and from what I can tell it always looks very clean. The service is friendly and very fast for food that is cooked to order. Also, if you're a fan of some good old-fashioned onion rings try the ones here... They're pretty amazing. read more

I was very very disappointed when i got my order at Norman location on 7/21/2017. I ordered their famous steak sandwich supreme como #1. The sandwich was not hot it was close to being cold and the meat was very dry. It looked like it was cooked and left out for 6 hours. I couldnt eat it! I wont be back to that location. You would think they would cook everything fresh since they dont have much business because of the road construction. I was craving this place for such a long time since i dont eat out too often. Used to be the best Del Rancho, now it's the worst! Woman taking order kept cutting me off and acting like she didn't have time to let me talk. Steak in sandwiches was over cooked. Breeding was way too thick, and was too dark, and tasted burned on the outside. Lettuce seemed old. Fries were limp and unsalted. This is one of the worst places to go and eat! The food was burnt, greasy, and cold. The staff are very rude and will even argue with you if you have a complaint with your order. This was the absolute worst customer experience I've ever had - so much so that I am writing a review on it, and I almost NEVER do that. I ordered a lil' steak sandwich ($4.89), fried green beans ($4.29), lil chicken fried steak dinner with a dinner salad ($7.99), and a large drink ($2.29). Doing some quick math, adding about 9% sales tax for Norman, that comes to roughly $22 (a little under actually). I gave my car hop $25 and told her to keep the change. Not even thinking to check the order, I drove to my apartment. Well, that wasn't a good idea because instead of fried green beans, I got regular green beans, and no dinner salad. Thinking it was just a simple mistake, I made a phone call and told the associate about the error. I asked if they would like me to bring all the food back, or if I could just come pick up the correct items. Being completely rude, the associate reverified my total twice, telling me that it would cost me more to get fried green beans (no...no it wouldn't). Once she realized her mistake, she barked at me to just come get the dinner salad, but she couldn't give me the fried green beans. I heard a male in the background say "I'll just make them", in which she responded with "fine, just come get them both". I replied and told her to just forget it. I will NEVER give this location my money EVER again. Customer experience is everything, people. If you make a mistake, just kindly correct it and not make the customer feel like they are putting you out! I'm out $25 for an order that was wrong and missing items - that's just awesome. Another Yelp score!! Unfamiliar location needed to some place to eat. Yelp sent us to Del Rancho and it was amazing. Mike tried the chicken fried steak burger. I had the chicken fried chicken burger; both delightful, truly Outstanding! Tots and onion rings were good. Unsweetened tea was perfect. Service was superb. there was even a nice little patio you could sit on if you didn't want to dine in your car like you were in the back in the fifties. read more

I've ate here several times over the years and most of the time it has been fair, over priced but fair. my wife and i ate the steak sandwich there sunday and that was the worst meal i've had in a long time. it was so greasy and the frys we could not even eat. a steak sandwich meals is 10.00 and you can go to golden coral and eat a better meal and all you can eat for 8.00 read more
