I work nearby and walked over to order a sandwich. They weren't even busy so I don't know how the bartender nor the waitress missed me standing there near the bar, waiting for assistance for what seemed like an eternity. I finally asked the waitress, who was in the process of ignoring me some by just walking by, how I could order a sandwich. She said to have a seat and I told i just wanted something to go. She walked off and assisted the two people who came in AFTER me. I walked out and went across the street to Rosa Mezcal, where i was provided extremely prompt and polite service. Don't know if I'll ever go back. EDIT TO ADD June 15, 2026: My experience here as per above was apparently as an isolated occurrence, and I'm glad I went back per the invite from the Owner. BEST sandwich (BW Italian) that was fresh tasting and packed with meat and produce, coupled with the BEST potato salad ever. And don't even get me started on the Rocky Road Cookie.... I enjoy trying new places. One day not long ago. I stopped in at Bison Witches. Pub/Restaurant motiff. Ambiance was cozy, quaint maybe dark and cold looking. I asked the wait person how they came up with this places name. She chuckled and said (BUY SANDWICHES) I thought well now, that's original. I was all set for a great sandwich as was my friend. We ordered food came fairly quick and had a nice presentation. However, while it was OK, it did not make a huge impression with me. Every sandwich on the menu sounds so good! It was really hard to pick one. I ordered the CAD sandwich, chili bread bowl, and Mac and cheese. The CAD was good however, the honey Russian mustard in it was horrible. It had horseradish in it. There's only 2 foods that's I loathe and that's cilantro and horseradish. The sandwich was smothered in it where I was unable to just wipe it off. I ended up taking off some of the chicken and throwing it in my amazing chili bowl. The chili was the best I've had in years! I loved every single bite. The mac and cheese was perfect as well. I'll for sure be back soon to try another sandwich without Russian death sauce. read more

We walked in, were rushed to order, and then proceeded to wait on 2 sandwiches for 45 minutes. During that time, the wait staff didn't check on us once. They brought out our drinks and there was something floating in the bottom of one of the glasses. When served our sandwiches, there was way too much horse radish on both sandwiches. It was so spicy that we could not finish our food. In addition to that, there was not supposed to be any on our sandwiches. It seemed there was only one person making all of the food. We decided to give Bison Witches another chance today. Bad decision... The same girl as last time (tall, skinny, black hair, bad tattoos) gave us the b$*chy attitude because we asked, again, for our obviously dirty table to be wiped down. Should have left right then. We have been coming here for decades, but in the last few years the services has become horrendous, and the food has become iffy. We had to get up & ask for drink refills, and our check. To top it all off the gave us a mandatory 18% gratuity because we sat at a table that would hold 6 people, mind you there were 3 other tables occupied the entire time we were there. Definitely tried this place thinking it was affiliated with the one in Tucson. It is not anything like the one in Tuscon. The sandwiches are half the size and possibly more expensive believe it or not.They tasted ok i guess but i paid $40 for two sandwiches. Bison Witches is a great dive for after work drinks or a quick lunch and has arguably the best happy hour in Norman; It gets bonus points for not being on campus corner. The drinks are cheap ($2.50 Shock Top, $4 margaritas the afternoon we popped in), and the service is great - we were greeted almost immediately and received our order quickly. The salsa and queso are tasty and served with a mountain of chips. The Sooner sandwich is my favorite, but I've yet to try a sandwich there I didn't enjoy. read more

Recently went here with the family on Karaoke Night. Was so much fun! the food was what you would expect from a dive bar, the service was just OK. Had to remind the waitress we were there a few times... but it was BUSY. By far the best part of the visit was the Karaoke host. When he noticed that our table was full of empty dishes he hustled to clear it and got the waitress to come over and freshen up our drinks. This place is phenomenal. I tried this place for the first time on a snowy afternoon and I was impressed. It's a bar that sells soups and sandwiches, so not your traditional bar food. I started with the spinach and artichoke dip and it was pretty good. What set it back was the store bought chips. For my meal I had the Miss Priss (turkey, lettuce, tomato, cheese, alfalfa sprouts, and honey mustard) on croissant and that was one of the best sandwiches I've ever had! It was loaded with tons of turkey. Pretty big portion for lunch but doable. My boyfriend got the tortilla soup bread bowl and he loved his too. Never again! This is a really weird thing to say, but my spinach artichoke dip tasted like breakfast gravy. Every person at my table agreed. There was no hint of garlic or cream cheese- it's like they mixed in the wrong ingredients. I'm still grossed out two hours later. Salad was sad iceberg lettuce with few real greens, ranch was from a bottle and looked like glue. Gross, all around. They also advertised $3 mimosas on Saturdays but were out of champagne. Awkward for a bar. The service was fine, and others at my table made it through their food, so I'm leaving two stars but will not be back. read more

As a first time customer I found this place, as a hang out spot was, not for me. I am not use to bars and pubs, which this is. It was very loud inside with loud music and there was a loud mic going on with a dj who was asking trivia questions to the customers (college kids) inside. I read reviews on how good their sandwiches and soup was and that was the reason why I went there. After wandering around where I was to order for take out, because I didn't want to sit down and eat, I went up to order and got my sandwich and soup within 8 mins. The sandwich was AMAZING! Last time I was here (before today) was when I was an undergrad attending the university of Oklahoma which was 5-7 years ago. The taste has not changed at all which was a relief!! They have couple of options here. There's obviously the whole sandwich with a side or you have do half soup half salad. Half soup half sandwich and I'm not sure but I'm sure you can do half sandwich half salad too. I got the miss priss or something. It had white turkey, alfalfa sprouts, tomatos, lettuce and they homemade honey mustard. So the honey mustard isn't as sweet as most places. Here is a bit more mustard like and it added an interesting taste with each bite. Some may need to get used to it. For my half soup ( no such think as a half soup I think since it looked like a full amount) I got the creamy potato and bacon soup. All of their soup (I think) comes in their own bread bowl (white bread) which is a nice touch. I would come back but I live by the will Rogers airport and I just came to show an underclass man places to eat in Norman but excellent place to eat lunch and it's all less than 10$! read more
