I've heard several people say that this is the best Del Taco that they've ever had and they make it a point to always stop here on the way to and from Vegas. I honestly can't say one way or the other because it tastes the same to me. The food isn't bad by any means, but it's not exactly life changing either. The staff is usually very friendly and it doesn't take that long for them to fill your order if you're eating inside. The sitting area is spacious and usually kept pretty clean. The downside to this location are the bathrooms. They're not the cleanest but I guess that's to be expected when you're located on a major highway and people are coming in and out all the time. The stalls are also pretty cramped and it's hard to close the door once you're in, or open it to get out, because the width of the door is pretty much the exact distance there is between the door and the toilet seat. read more

Not a bad stop If you're on your way to or from Las Vegas. I recently rediscovered Del Taco as a dining option and so this outlet was very convenient on our most recent Vegas trip. My Crunchy Del Taco combo with quesadilla, fries and a soft drink hit the spot, as did my wife's Del Taco and Fish Taco. And as for the bathroom, I didn't use the men's but my wife found the women's acceptable. read more

Stepped out of the car and DAMN IT WAS HOT, then something BIT me on the leg - I must be in Death Valley, but I gotta' pee and I want a burrito so bad, so I must trek on! I got inside and it was cool, but I would definitely recommend the drive trough unless you gotta' whizz. They don't call it Death Valley because it's easy living, and WTF bit me on the leg? (I stopped in the bano and put some soap on my bite, and some cold water and tried to walk it off, I hope it wasn't a scorpion.) So, I ordered my typical Value Menu Items (2 value tacos .89 cents each, small value fry .99 cents, 32 oz $1.00 ice tea) which I always order at my home in Southern Calif., which usually totals about $4.00 So when she says is $7.18, I thought I misunderstood. So I get to the window and ask if the $7.18 was correct and she said yes. I asked her to lay out the order and the tacos were .89 each, but the small fry was 2.39 and the tea was $2.49!!! I told her I could have gotten a meal for less and she just smiled and said, yes. Like all things in Baker, the businesses take advantage of you, gouging you just for passing thru quite honestly, if you aren't starving, don't support this abuse. If you have read any of m other reviews of chain restaurants you know its difficult to make more than 3 stars, however this location gets and extra star due to the friendliness and efficiency of the staff. While not packed there were quite a few people in the restaurant on our visit and they just kept moving those orders out at high speed, less than 5 minutes from order to delivery, it's hard to do that when you are busy all the time, large orders, small order just kept coming out. As you are beginning to read this you are wondering oh no here he goes again with another review, well sit back relax and enjoy another fun filled review a location in the middle of California where most people will not stop. Del taco seems to be a staple in the Southern California area, has because in the Northern California area you cannot find them. So usually on our way to Las Vegas or heading home, if we get the opportunity and we are hungry we do take a chance and stopping at Dell taco. It is definitely a step above Taco Bell but I very small step. The food quality does taste better like Taco Bell used to be but at least the service is fast and the employees were friendly of the several times we have stopped here. I would definitely say this is not the cleanest location I've ever been to it does have a old truckstop feel, but at least the tables were clean the drink machines were clean and the food was fresh and hot upon ordering. Again this is not a sit down white linen steakhouse restaurant, but it is a good place to stop and grab a quick meal while heading back on the road. There are two main reasons I'm not given it a five star rating that this review might sound like, one star was for the dirty restrooms, somebody needs to take a little bit more time and making sure everything is nice and clean and maintained and all the supplies are filled correctly. The second star that I could've received on this review was due to the sticky floors throughout the main part of the restaurant. It felt like somebody took soda and dumped it in the water and decided to mop the floors I'm hoping this was just a one time deal so we'll give it a check out next time we stop hopefully give the fourth start to this restaurant. read more

I posted photos of the disgustingness of the bathrooms. I seriously hope that the rest of the restaurant is not as gross. There were mold, shit stains, shit on the walls, hair everywhere and a completely run down and broken sink system. Very difficult to find soap. With regard to the food, it came out quickly, and it's one of the larger portions of food I've seen at any del taco. My guess is the staff here knows you are paying a premium to be out in the middle of nowhere and get burritos. I haven't seen a taco stuff that full in a long time :-) The staff was super attentive and great. My three stars is because the place is gross. read more

I'm a Del Taco fan in general and we eat there A LOT. This weekend, I wanted to stop at the Del in Baker to grab some macho drinks for our drive home and use the facilities, so we did. You know, every time I come to this location, I leave not happy for one reason or another. This time I used a gift card to pay and they took my gift card and went to do the transaction over in a little corner. It literally took well over five minutes and the guy doing it (manager it would seem)walked away and started doing food and then came back to the little corner and then walked away and never once said, "having some trouble with the machine, we're get that to you as quickly as possible" or "sorry for the wait, just another minute". He completely ignored me and wouldn't even look at me! How freaking weird is that? Great managerial skills, dude. Anyway, I used the dirty, run-down facilities, left the dirty, run-down restaurant with my macho oddly flavored Diet Coke in hand and hope I won't have to visit there again, but I have a sneaking suspicion, I'll probably be back. Driving home to Vegas from LA and we had to decide which of the options in Baker sounded the least gross to eat. I chose Del Taco. I figured a Deluxe Chili Cheese Fries would be a suitable snack until we got home. I don't know who was working in the kitchen at 3:30pm on Monday, 7/27/20, but they need a raise. They did not hold back on ANY of the ingredients. I can't even get most Del Taco's to remember the 6 ingredients that make a Deluxe Chili Cheese Fries and these guys loaded so much on those fries that you would have thought they were feeding God himself. My only complaint is that it's so unrealistic for me to travel from Vegas to Baker for lunch everyday. read more

Coolest, cleanest, fastest Del Taco ever. My husband & I stopped in for a little lunch on the way to Vegas. Damn, service was quick, friendly, efficient. They cater to a large crowd of people here but what stood out to me was the fact they were playing classic golden 50s & 60s music. I haven't heard these tunes since being in junior high (my science teacher always played KRTH 101) it really set the tone & put me in a good mood. Highly impressed. Really nice experience. On our way home on Sunday afternoon, we wanted something other than a burger. Bathroom and lobby was surprisingly clean. Very well organized staff behind the counter. Just be prepared to wait just a bit longer if you pay with a credit card. They have only one phone line for the machine. Not a problem though, unless you are demanding and need everything done in an instant. Our quesadillas were HOT. Very tasty, and lots of cheese. Once was enough for me. Let me tell you a story... On our way to Vegas, we stopped at Del. At that time, I was more of a fan of Taco Bell, and had only eaten Del when I was forced to. (It took me a few years after this experience to eat at Del willingly again) This was no exception. This del taco location is quiet alright cause it did its job to fill up our belly on our way to Vegas. This place is very busy, but have a fast service like what every fast food are supposed to do. It was late in the evening and I was hungry. I stopped by this Del Taco for the 3 chicken soft tacos for $2.29, which they did not offer. I ordered a mini bacon quesadilla and a BRC burrito. Both came out hot and freshly made. It was also almost 11pm. The cashier had an attitude, but was cool. I think he was just tires of working late. As I was waiting for my food, I read some reviews that said that they had a "B" rating. I way the B on my way out and my stomach was grumbling the whole way home. This seems to always be the go to break stop on the way to &/or from Vegas. Not just for us, but a lot of other people. Because of this, this location sees a lot of foot traffic and it shows. The location feels run down and in need of a face lift. Especially in the bathrooms. Food quality is on par with all other locations so you don't have to worry about that. My visit to Vegas is DONE!! I forgot to get some food from the Cafe. So, why not get some cheap food after gambling and spending so much money at the casinos. I have never stopped on my own in Baker. It was either Barstow or Primm, but never on my own stopped at Baker. I have tried Mad Greek. That's it. I was in the mood for Mexican Fast Food aka Del Taco. Baker was empty at 9:30am. Not even Baker Blvd had a lot of traffic, which usually does, especially for truck drivers and road warriors. I stopped and ordered a lot of items. I ordered a Double Del Cheeseburger, Two Tacos Del Carbon, One Macho Fries, Two Tacos, One Del Classic Chicken Burrito, and One Medium Mr. Pibb for a total of $16.33. There was only three customers while I waited for my food. A truck driver, a car before me, and ME. As many others have mentioned, they only accept cash. However, they do have an ATM inside. If you are leaving Vegas, get some cash. If you are going to Vegas, GET SOME CASH..lol. Go to your bank before you pay the ATM Fee anywhere en route to Vegas. My food is good. No problems, but nothing special about this Del Taco. Its just like many others in SoCal. However, it was my first time to try the Double Del Cheeseburger. I was actually surprised about it. It tasted like I ordered a Double Double from In-N-Out. It was delicious and dripping cheese like the Double Double. Not a bad imitation. The only thing I ate on the road was the Cheeseburger, the macho fries, and drank the Mr. Pibb. The rest I saved for home. I wouldn't mind stopping here again. I read the other reviews beforehand and I have to say that my experience was different... the restaurant was actually fairly clean and there were no roaches crawling inside the light fixtures as others have alleged. This location only gets three stars because the meat on my tacos wasnt the freshest. They were still tasty and got consumed but it was not the best DT experience with regards to the food quality. read more

It was I had just driven for three hours, and a hundred and fifty two miles from Santa Clarita. It was still another ninety five to Vegas. I was beat and needed to recharge my batteries. Not too bad. Must be because they have to truck all the stuff all the way out here to Baker. I paid, took my receipt and went out to look at the coupon and brochure rack in the entryway to wait for my food. Never know what you're going to find in the advertisement racks. Free Beers, discounts to shows, free stuff if you dance like an idiot....I had accumulated a bit of a stack when my number was called. I went back to the counter to pick up my tray. Huh. This looks bigger than usual. I found an empty table and began to open up my dinner. Wow. These burritos are huge! These tacos are twice the size they are back home! Holy crap! An extra dollar sure does get you a lot of stuff! I was still in a hurry though. So I had to eat quickly. Wow. This sure is a lot of food. Much larger, and still just as good as I've come to expect from Del Tacos around my normal area. The people were friendly, smiled as I ordered and quick to deliver my order correctly. Good job guys. I'm not sure when I'll be back. But I'll definitely stop back here again. It's a great stop in the absolute middle of nowhere. I called shortly after closing hours after arriving in Las Vegas and passing thru this Baker location and boneheadedly lost/left my wallet there. While in the process of leaving a frantic voicemail he answered the phone, albeit after hours, to calm my worries. He found the wallet! My stress levels went from a 10 to a 1 real fast. Who knows what someone who could get away with something like stealing the wallet could do. Really a stand-up guy. Also the chicken soft tacos were better than usual as I'm an avid fan of Del!
