She smiles genuinely and seems to really enjoy helping her customers. The wife ordered the Grilled Corn Elote and Faith expertly carved it a the table for us. I was expecting a lot of corn to be left on the cob; good for me because I hoped to nibble on the detritus. But it quickly became apparent that this wasn't Faith's first rodeo. To my wife's pleasure, while crushing my hope, the cob came out whistle clean from Faith's expert hand. I also appreciate it when service is pre-emptive and anticipatory, not reactionary. Ordering a coke, then having to hunt down the server begging for a refill has become the status quo for most restaurant experiences. But Faith's attention is refreshingly anticipatory, asking if I needed a refill well before the straw's guttural wail when more air than liquid passes. Good food tastes better with good service. Solita is great food with great service (especially if you're lucky enough to have Faith help you). Try it out again if you've been away awhile like us.

I'm sharing this because I would strongly recommend that customers check the final amount that posts to their card after dining here. Our group split the bill between two credit cards. Our friends covered the 20% tip for the entire table on their card to even out what we each owed. I specifically remember crossing out the tip line on our receipt because we had discussed with our friends that they were covering the tip. The next day, when our credit card charge posted, we noticed that an additional $40 had been added to our card as a tip. Our server was Oliver. My husband immediately called the restaurant and spoke with a manager, Luis. Luis was very nice and professional about the situation. He was able to look at the restaurant's copy of our receipt and agreed to refund the $40. He also offered us complimentary margaritas if we came back, which we appreciated. Unfortunately, regardless of how well the manager handled it, seeing an additional $40 tip added to our card that we did not authorize is extremely concerning and really affected our trust in the restaurant. If you pay by credit card here especially if you leave a cash tip, split the bill, or someone else in your party is covering the tip, I would recommend taking a photo of your completed receipt and checking the final charge that posts to your card. The filet mignon tacos were good, and I appreciate how Luis handled our call, but after this experience I don't think we would feel comfortable returning.
