Fish tacos hit by shrinkflation. They were already small and now are MINUSCULE, AND my last order (not sure if they don't include anymore) got no lime wedges. The nacho chips I had to legit throw away as they tasted like old fryer grease....and the taste in my mouth lingered all day. The beans on them were ice cold like they barely heated them. The food has made my stomach hurt the 3 times we have been here. Made me sick as hell I was literally throwing up. Not only was the food nasty , they usually atleast have good milkshakes and couldn't even provide that here the girl at the drive thru didn't even bother mixing up my milkshake all the way because it was a inconvenience for her to take a little longer. This Del Taco location is listed as being open until 3 am however when we arrived a bit after 10pm the drive thru was already blocked off (even though there's a big sign on the back of the building that also says they're open late nights). We drive around to the front to see if maybe the the lobby is open and there is something going on with the drive thru, nope they turned the lights off as soon as we pulled up to the front. This was so annoying after being on the road all day and getting off just to grab some tacos as we don't have Del Taco at home. read more

Sad now to eat here.Prices have gone up beyond what I'm willing to pay for tacos. 14.98 for 2 tacos chips and cheese and a drink. The meat is almost non-existent on them now. The flavor was always kinda blah but the size made up for it. Now they are same size as taco bell. Taco Bell is cheaper and the meat alot more flavored. My boyfriend and I visited Del Taco twice since opening and boy are we happy Del Taco came to the area! Both times we have gone thru the drive thru in the early morning (5AMish) The drive thru is open 24 hours ANDDD so is the whole menu. If you want a shake at 4am, go for it. You want a breakfast burrito at 2pm, go for it. The whole menu is available all day and night. This drive thru is a blessing for us since we both work night shift and not many places are open when we get off work. We've tried all sorts of food. We love the not overly salty crinkle cut fries! Street tacos are pretty awesome too! They have steak and chicken. I also tried an epic chicken avocado burrito and it was huge! Reminded me of Chipotle's burrito, huge and tons of ingredients. Prices are pretty fair for the amount of food you get. Service has been great in the drive thru. Its nice to be delighted with happy smiling faces at such an early hour. Menu is huge. There's something for everyone. Tacos, burgers, quesadillas, plates, fish items. The list goes on. Also love the dollar menu! We will definitely be back frequently. read more

Del Taco has been in my area for a while now but I still hadn't gone and checked it out. My wife and I went for lunch and we weren't disappointed. We liked how fresh the food was, easy to understand menu. The one thing I found to be strange is that they had burgers. Food was good and the service was fantastic. Plain tacos were fine . Sauces had good flavor . Too bad I had to ask the girl if they made sauces before she asked if we wanted any ... Salad was sad , brown avacado and basically nothing but shredded lettuce and a few blobs if beans. (Protein bowl at Taco Bell in a pinch much better). 2017-12-10. Del Taco is slowly creeping northward. With it's 7th and latest opening, it's their first location north of M-59. I had only tried this once previously during a drive by, and they had a shrimp taco which I remember being quite good, so I decided to stop in to see what else they had on their menu. Del Taco is not your average American-Mexican restaurant, they carry more than just tacos. Mexican dishes includes burritos, bowls, and plates, and their American fares consists of hamburgers, fries, and shakes. There really is much to say about franchises, they're usually pretty consistent in terms of food quality and tastes as their distribution network is governed by Corporate, so I'll make a couple of brief points on management. The restaurant wasn't busy, and from what I can see, the dining area was kept clean. Tables seemed wiped down and no litter was visible. They seemed a little short staffed as there was no one manning the counter when I arrived, but I'll chalk that one up to the new location and the fact that they're still hiring. So far so good... but let's see how they do with the test of time... As of now, I'm a fan, 4 stars. As with all fast food chains, the menu is pretty extensive, so I'll post my ratings with my pics as usual. Have attempted to come here three times now and each time they were closed. Really getting ridiculous.

The ground beef crunchy shell Del Taco is the only thing worth mentioning here. Skip everything else. The rest of the menu is a convoluted mess. Too many items, and it all pretty much tastes the same. A pile of meat here, a lettuce here, a sauce there, blah, blah, blah. Oh yeah, call me an old fart but I still cannot accept french fries with my tacos. It doesn't work. A good taco should stand on it's own! The breakfast items are especially terrible, toasted wraps from Hell and the worst coffee in fast food history. At least heat the chorizio before putting it in a (un) toasted wrap. A new low. Consistent with the low standards, what's up with the "We Accept Tips" signage on the drive-thru window? Since when is tipping fast-food workers acceptable? Especially at a drive-thru? Zipping lip, I'll refrain from any further economic debates. That said, a clear sign of the sad times we live in. read more

This is smaller than most Del Tacos, not that that was a problem. The place was near empty when I arrived just after noon on a Friday, though it was maybe a third full when I left. I guess that worked for my benefit, since my salad arrived at my table almost as soon as I'd sat down. And it was good-the lettuce and other toppings were fresh, and the chili-lime dressing was as zingy as I'd expect. It met the standard for Del Taco, which is higher than average for fast food. My expectations weren't too high since I thought this was another fast food 'taco place'. But my thinking changed after walking through the door and looking at the many choices on the menu board. Wow, decisions, decisions. My friend and I decided to split a couple items since I wasn't real hungry. We ordered the Macho Nachos and a Chicken Cheddar Quesadilla. Both were quite good and I'm looking forward to going back and trying other offerings. The service was quick and our orders came up promptly even though we came at a busy time. The staff was working hard to crank out the orders and it seemed to be running very smoothly. A steady stream of customers was coming and going, which is a good sign of a popular restaurant. All I can say is goodbye Taco Bell and Hello Del Taco. Food was fresh. Most guys would appreciate the amount of cheese and meat they put on a taco. The classic taco salad was good, but the meat didn't really have any flavor. BUT, and this is the reason for the low score: the strawberry lemonade is "lite/light)- which they didn't say when ordering, nor was there a sign to refer to. It has artificial sweetener added, which I realized after a few good swallows. Any non- sugar sweetener gives me a migraine and usually brings on nausea. And it did. I have no idea why restaurants don't post this stuff. I've been on antibiotics for a week and haven't been able to eat very much because of my stomach discomfort. So, this was my first time here and the first full meal I'd had in 10 days. The strawberry lemonade sounded gr8! Real strawberries, yum. With ARTIFICIAL SWEETENER! Dam* the luck. Stopped by to try the new 'Beyond Avocado Taco' since I forgot my lunch today and kinda wanted to try out this new vegan option. I had a FREE coupon to use too. It was ok. Not a huge fast food lover so nothing special about the taste. It did however taste like a regular ole' taco. The 'meat' part tasted just like the real thing, from what I remember. Honestly, I probably won't ever get it again. Just for the fact that it didn't blow me away. I also had a small fry (which was the best part lol) and a Veggie Fresca Bowl. The bowl used to be different and much better than it is now. I hate when places "improve" menu items and then they suck. I am glad that more of the main stream restaurants are expanding their menus to include more vegan options! So, great job to Del Taco for that! read more

I would like to first start out with is this review is not reflecting the customer service i received because it was excellent. the food, uh, GROSS- the fryer clearly doesn't get cleaned or the chips wouldn't taste stale and burnt. I got the mix and match for 6.99, i got both original chicken burritos, chips and queso, and 2 smoothies. the smoothies are AMAZING. The food, which i paid 15$ for was not edible once i tried it and got home. The last time i tried to get a refund for anything in Chesterfield they try to give you a gift card if some sort or credit to that same food service, if the food was not edible other than the drinks- i will NOT be returning to this place. read more

Del Taco has the best fast food around for Mexican eats. I looove pretty much everything on the menu. They have deals for everyone and so many options to choose from! The double dell cheeseburger is super good and puts Wendy's to the test! The fries are good too! Some of my favorites are the habanero tacos and the chips and guacamole. Del Taco sells fresh avocado. BUT this is their only plus besides their delicious meat sauce. They need to get their act together due to their horrible service. Last time I went there, I ordered a taco with just meat, and they just gave me meat in a bag. This place is just a replica of Taco Bell. Taco Bell is way better. Del Taco is great! I used to be a big Taco Bell fan. It was easy to get, I had liked the food, it was close. I kinda fell out of love and then moved north and it was never worth going there. I even worked at a Taco Bell for a time many years ago. Del Taco is even farther but I still make a point to go here once a week or so. The food options are varied, but I usually go with the Ground Turkey Tacos and a Spicy Chicken Taco. My nephew's have enjoyed their burgers and my fiancee usually gets their bean burrito. The food is always fresh and it just tastes cleaner than Taco Bell. The portions are also nice with tacos that are full of flavor and fries that I like so much I don't even use ketchup or any sauces. Btw, their spiciest sauce packets are better and spicier than Taco Bell's. The service is generally good. There's an employee or two who don't have that positive service mentality but overall it's better than usual. The venue is usually clean but certain times or employees can make this vary. I heard a manager once ask an employee duo to clean the main area where we were dining. After she left, they just kept talking and ignored the request. So there is effort the be made there. I have occasionally gotten a mini shake which is pretty tasty and I love their iced tea option. Fun atmosphere and enjoyable food make this a local staple despite the drive. Though avoid coming in off Gratiot as the entrance is just poor. Coming in off 23 mile and driving through the parking lot is preferred. read more

I went into this location on 2/20/2020. I walked in, stood for 5 minutes with no greeting, and got ignored by managers talking to each other for a couple more minutes. They finally finished up their conversation and came to the counter without a word or greeting. Just "what do you want" I greeted her and started off by asking "does your guacamole have onion?" as I'm allergic, just got denied by chipotle and just wanted some guac. She turns to the other manager and she responds "I don't know. Check the box" and before the one can even turn around to check the store manager stops her and says "you know what- no. She (as in me) can just look it up. Go to the website." I hold my tongue and attempt to look it up. I just worked for 10 hours, I'm tired and I'm hungry. My mind was so blurry I couldn't seem to find it. They decided they would just ignore me unless I found the answer or ordered something else. After 15 minutes, I walked out and went to Qdoba. Can you say crinkle cut french fries? Del taco is by far my favorite taco fast food chain! Everything is always so delicious, they put so much cheese on the tacos it's seriously incredible. Everything tastes so fresh, and where else can you get tacos AND crinkle cut fries ?! I love all of their menu options like the Fish Tacos and Beyond Avocado Taco. I also love the fact that they have coke products. I will say though, Today the tomatoes on my taco were complete mush, I don't know if somebody hit them with a sledgehammer before putting them on my taco, I'm just going to assume that it was employee error because I know that isn't del Taco standard read more

Went here after i visited my family at michigan and wanted Del Taco. Apple maps said they were open until 3am and drove 25 minutes away to get some, after coming i noticed they were closed and all the lights were off. You either love Del Taco or you love Taco Bell. Or in my case, you have a pre teen son, in which case you love anything tacos. This location is super clean and super fast. Employees are always very friendly and courteous. I feel their food lacks in volume. I always look at the food and think what happened to the other half of my food? And why wasn't I given it? It's like everything is under portioned. I've had their shakes twice, free for my birthday with the email they send you. Their shakes are really good and will put you into diabetic shock. But the strawberry has real strawberries in it and that's a plus, plus real whipped cream too. Add on the calories- it's my birthday. The buck and under menu has lots of options, so as a mom with 5 littles this is right up my alley. I'll be honest, I prefer Taco Bell tacos. But that's me. I know the menu has fries and burgers and from what I've heard they are good. But this is a taco place, why would I do that? I'm not near this Del Taco often but if my kid's hungry- when isn't he?? then I usually hit it up. I'll come back, because it's fast and cheap and the employees actually smile at you. read more

If I'm looking for Mexican fast food, I'm running from "The Bell" and heading to Del Taco in Chesterfield. Their food is still fast food but the quality is much better than that other place. My favorite is their hard shell Del Tacos. They come loaded and the shells are never broken and always crispy. The tomatoes, lettuce and cheese always taste fresh. Their beef is seasoned just right. I am not even going to rate this Del Taco. Since the pandemic this is the second time, we patronized this location and each time it was not successful. The first time I ordered two, combo burritos which is supposed to have cheese, beef and beans. Even though I went back and the manager said made them and it contained beans, I could not find any amount of refried bean paste or even a bean. The second time we went we ordered a Classic Chicken Burrito and added guacamole for an additional $1.75, an Epic Combo Burrito, a Del Taco adding Sour Cream and Onions adding $0.60 and $0.20 respectively and two Crunchtadas. We did not get any of the addons requested and the Crunchtadas did not have much in the way of lettuce or cheese. The manager did say I could go back for another chicken burrito, but with higher gas costs and being laid off, I chose not to spend the money to go back and get something that should have been made correctly to begin with. He then asked what he could do and I told him this was not the first time and to do something to ensure that orders are being sent our correctly. He was silent and did not acknowledge my comment and his tone and attitude was who cares It was his attitude that I got more upset and became a Karen. Above all this my husband commented how the food had no taste. We will not be going back. read more
