Added 2 $5.00 Clasico boxes to my order and I was told they did not have them anymore, so I asked what was in the $7.00 boxes and I was told a bean burrito for both the 7 and 9 boxes. I have gotten them before, and we get beef and bean burritos, so I tried to clarify, and the lady said no it's a bean burrito. Not what it's advertised! The 5 box is on their add for November...

Poor food prep conditions, No Gloves!

Poor food prep conditions, service to order was slow, nobody available to take order, waited a while for someone to come from the back. Overall experience was pretty bad standards, could look past poor service but not unhealthy food handling practices.

    New "freshness" theme.

This is a somewhat regular lunch stop near my office. The restaurant is usually pretty clean, but not always. The staff seems to rotate quite a bit, so we don't often see the same faces working here. They're usually friendly, but we witnessed an employee/manager performing and interview in the dining area yesterday and thought some of her comments that we overheard were a little "off". Anyway, the food is always served hot and tasty. Because of the variety of menu items, it satisfies anyone in our office. I noticed a new sign yesterday that seems to promote a "fresh" theme (see pic). I'm sure this will continue to be one of our go-to spots.

black roach in the taco. literally was found in the lettuce.

literally found a roach in my food. literally open up the taco to put sauce in it and a black thing was in the lettuce. i pulled out and it was a shriveled up dead roach. i'm beyond post off. i had already ate 2 tacos prior i better not get sick. this is disgusting. i will be there tomorrow to return these food items and to show them the roach. i'm literally speechless!! i will never eat at a del taco again in my life.

a burrito and a fork on a napkin

Okay this is purely about food and food prep: Yes. It's fast food. Yes I can expect fast food. Believe it or not the drive through window associates are nice and usually on it. Del taco is my guilty pleasure until today! I asked during my order twice and was very specific no tomatoes no pico. Reassured me and read back my order no tomatoes. I asked to triple check at the window as I was paying. Yes again. I asked as the bag was handed to me--YUP no tomatoes. Side note- I only don't eat tomatoes of all the things. I get home. Well. Guess why I'm writing this? I have a little one so getting out is rough. If you have a new crawler you get it. You have a short window to eat or you wait til bedtime and who wants to cook(Del Taco it is!). I'm so sad. They were kind over the phone and asked me to come back but now it's bedtime and I'll have to come by another day.... For a refund.....on a burrito............‍ Hold on--- to top it off there was a piece of HAIR stuck in my ice in the water. Umm. It was not hair from the top of someone's head FYI. Send help. I'll be going to (dare I say) Taco Bell now‍

My friend ordered the chorizo and eggs and When the food arrived, my friend didn't realize her meal contained jalapeños. She hadn't noticed they were listed on the menu, and while it was an honest oversight, we politely asked if it would be possible to remake the dish without them, and the server agreed to take it back. When she came back, she asked if we wanted the original plate boxed up because they didn't want it to go to waste. We explained that we weren't going to eat it because of the jalapeños, but after being asked again, we agreed to take it with us so it wouldn't be wasted. When it was time to pay, we were shocked to find out we had been charged for both meals. At no point did anyone tell us that remaking the plate meant we'd be paying for two plates. Had we known, we never would have agreed to reorder it and we tried leaving the to go box too. When I politely questioned the charge, the employee told us that my friend "could have just picked the jalapeños off like other people do." That response was disappointing and dismissive, especially since they had already agreed to remake the meal. I asked to speak with a manager, but was told there wasn't one available and that nothing could be done. There was no apology for the miscommunication or any effort to make things right. I've worked in hospitality, so I understand that mistakes happen. That's why I remained polite throughout the interaction. But hospitality is about communication and how you handle those mistakes, and unfortunately that was missing here. What should have been an enjoyable breakfast ended with us leaving frustrated.

But before ordering, we waited over 10 mins just to take our order. The restaurant was short staffed with only 1 server tending to 8 tables and 4 to go orders during our dining. She was very nice and served with a smile but she was pulled from all different directions and also checking the back to serve the good. I felt very bad for her and wished she had more help so it was a better experience for the customers and staff. All the food here is very reasonable with huge portions you can share as family style. I higher recommend the chicken quesadilla and the steak and check fajitas. I don't recommend the nacho since the plate portion seemed light compared to other places. The plate looked much later in the menu pictures. We also ordered the Pancho Molcajete that came with shrimp, steak, cheese and onions. it was not worth $42 and no it doesn't serve for 2 people. It was more of the black salsa sauce in the bowl than the actual food. Very disappointing and not worth the price. I would come back to order to go but not ever come back for a sit down!

However, none of the usually warm attributes of a family owned establishment. The was a distinct lack of color and warmth. Service: The service was good. I was greeted quickly and shown to a table very promptly too. (It was 4pm so it was after the lunch crowd and before dinner.) I thought it would be a perfect opportunity to experience the best possible service.) Menu: The menu had lots of options but I was set on exploring their taco Tuesday special. I ordered one of each. Food: My first surprise was when I was offered chips and salsa for $1.99. This is usually a free item at most restaurants but I thought to myself, if they are going to charge, then it must be something to talk about. I WAS WRONG! The chips were homemade but not to order. As a result, they were cool to the touch. The portion was modest and the salsa itself was barely an elevated tomato purée. That was almost no discernible spice to it. Then came the tacos. They were the small traditional street taco size which was just fine. However, none of the 4 tacos that I ordered had any noticeable heat. They were not quite cool to the touch but the certainly were not hot either. The presentation was nice as they were set on a long rectangular plate side by side and dressed with traditional cilantro and onions. I ordered 4 different meat types but the only offered one small shot glass sized salsa for all 4 of them. Sense of welcome: They were showing one of the World Cup games. In other circumstances, I might have ordered more tacos, maybe a dessert or even a beer. Unfortunately, at this point, I didn't want to stay. If I wanted more chips, they were going to charge another $2. It wasn't the $2 that was the problem, it was simply that nothing to that point was worth staying for. If they cannot get a simple plate of tacos served correctly when there was nobody else in the restaurant, I don't think there's any reason to go back to try anything else. I would have been better off at a taco truck.

The Birria beef was super tender, rich, and savory. With the red sauce, there's a nice and deep spice with a mild heat that adds to the meal's heartiness.
