There's not very much to say. I found myself in Snellville visiting some friends & decided to stop here on my way home. I was reluctant because I don't think tacos and fries are a pair but ordered the 2 tacos combo anyways. My Sprite didn't taste like Sprite at all but seltzer water instead, the taco beef was very bland and it had 3 times the amount of cheese one is used to on a single taco. No amount of sauce packets changed the flavor. I highly doubt that I will try this place again but I'm confident with a few tweaks, it could be better. Horrible! I saw that one was recently built in my area, but hadn't gotten a chance to try it, so when I was shopping in Snellville, I decided to give it a try. I was so disappointed. I ordered a 2 taco meal combo with sour cream and guacamole. There was only about what looked like 2 T of meat and overloaded with lettuce. The meat was bland and mushy. It put me in the mind of dog food! The guacamole tasted like more filler ingredients than avacado. Even the fries were bad. I remember when Del Taco mainly resided in mall food courts; they always seemed to be an alternative to the Bell's taco stuff and to me where a significantly less popular namesake that served lesser quality and tasting foodstuffs with higher pricing than the Bell's; all a valid contributor in their past demise. In truth, I didn't miss Del Taco leaving the fast food scene many years ago, and for-what-it's-worth, my recent visit to this new, and apparently ONLY operating facility in the State of Georgia rekindled why the Bell has survived continually while Del Taco is trying for a rebirth. Yes, Del Taco is currently offering more variety of foodstuffs than the Bell (burgers, fish, shrimp, and grilled chicken tacos, and a splattering of belly bulging sweet stuffs). Yes, fries come with most all combo meals. Yes, they have a "self serve Salsa Bar" openly unprotected by the ever dead and useless salad bar sneeze shield. Yes, they have plastic ware not in wrappers. Yes, they are currently the "New Guys on the Block......again" and as such are commanding a decidedly obscure lead in stellar Yelp reviews; and yes, I just had to revisit the Del in order to stave off my curiosity of why this place has returned. For-the-life-of-me, I really was hoping the Del reinvented themselves as I really would like to see some "Fast Food" competition in this category to the Bell's dominance; honestly, the Bell has slipped off a lot through the years and needs some low dollar competition! But the Del truly rekindled my memories of their troubled past; their foodstuffs are much like what I remembered --- bland (hey, where's the, "Fresh and Bold flavors?), stale (my Hard Taco shells as well as the soft wrappers where stale!), off tasting fillings (truly wonder what "Meat" is in this stuff?), small for what you get, and overpriced! My tried choices have been: #9 combo meal {Beef Burrito, Classic Taco, fries, drink}, grilled chicken taco, fish taco, and a steak taco; all left a lot to be desired in terms of quality and taste with comparable product prices overtaking the Bell again! I can honestly remark that the Bell's latest gaff towards their choice of "Meat[s]" used in their products has nothing over what Del Taco uses in their products; really, if the stuff Del Taco uses can be labelled in the meat category, then the Bell's stuff is prime choice! As some other Yelp reviewers have stated, the dollar-per-value meter of what Del Taco offers just doesn't cut it, and the products I have tried fall short to the competition in terms of quality and taste....yet again. I'm a Del Taco fanatic. They have so many options for vegetarians that other fast food Mexican chain restaurants do not. Sure, Taco Bell has cheese quesadillas and some mediocre bean and cheese burritos, but that's about it. Del Taco has a bean, rice, and cheese burrito that's delicious for under $1, which is an insanely good price when you're hungry for about 100 burritos. Which I am. All the time. They also have small cheese and bean burritos, 1/2 lb cheese and bean burritos, and 8 layer veggie burritos all on their value menu for stupid cheap. They have new Fresca bowl options, and one of them is a fire roasted veggie bowl. Mmmm! All of my food-feelings aside, this particular location has slow service and some pretty unfriendly teenagers behind the register. There was no signage, no forward announcement informing DT customer that this product was unavailable. When I asked about it, the third time informing her of my experience all month, she simply laughed and ignored my question. Clearly, this location needs to shut down for an immediate customer service seminar! In terms of quality of product, 2 out of 3 times, our order was wrong and the chicken tacos had 2-3 tiny pieces of chicken. I reached out to corporate customer service last week via online and received no feedback; furthermore, when I called a few days later, I could not reach a live person, only a recording asking customers to leave a message!? read more

The line was extra long in the drive thru tonight, but I wasn't in a rush. I ordered the taco de carbon meal: one steak and one chicken. I liked the steak okay, bit the chicken was yucky. Each taco had some kind of sauce on it, along with a pico de galo type salsa. All of the meals come with fries and a drink. I don't really think.fries.go with americanized Mexican fast food, but whatev... The crinkle fries are alright, a little limp. I've also had the macho nachos. Made the mistake of coming here one afternoon. Was not greeted, more like what do you want and I don't care. Couldn't understand the staff in the mask behind a plexiglass shield. Didn't listen to what I wanted on my burrito, order was wrong when I got it. My name was hurriedly called. Realized my order was in a bag on the counter even though I said I would be dinning in. Went back and asked for a tray for my food and was told they didn't have any trays. Looked around and saw a family with a tray. Went back and asked why I didn't get a tray. First things first. It is a 24 hour place. They are open all the time and it is a great news for me. You should know, I have these deep problems sometimes. Since we are good friends let me share. I often have these late night compulsions to stuff food down my throat. Painful demand cause everything remains freaking closed at night. But this place has bought some hope and relief to me and my kind. Sigh!! No, but seriously though, the food here is quite good. I have tried their spicy chicken burritos and soft tacos and they were quite good for a fast food chain. Pricing, is OK. Not over the top. Have a lot of combo selections of tacos and burritos and also have burgers. They also have a dollar menu which offers this and that for under a buck. However be warned, the drive thru might get very busy and very slow at night. So have to have heavy patience. Like they say a taco without patience is a taco not earned. BS. Sorry. As a fan of Del Taco restaurants having lived in southern California, I was pleased to visit one of their locations on the east side of the Atlanta metro area. Cleanliness - Yes/No. Although the restaurant looked clean, I had to find a table that was actually cleaned off. The restroom had no paper towels to dry my hands after washing and the overall appearance of the restrooms was mediocre, at best. The employees did wear gloves while prepping the food. Food/Taste - Yes? The tacos I had ordered seemed a little small from what other Del Taco restaurants provide. I want to say the taco shells mirror one's like Old El Paso shells. Definitely not the same shells as the real Del Taco...unless they somehow changed the menu on me. The tacos were good and the quesadilla was also good. No complaints for the taste of the food eaten. Staff - One person to point out was the guy who meticulously made his rounds through the dining area to check on everyone. He did an excellent job at that and keeping the piece with other tables that were less friendly and happy with their food. Overall - Yes. I was so excited to see a new Del Taco opening up within driving distance. All of the Del Tacos back in the home state closed up shortly after I moved to ATL so I've been deprived for a long time. The excitement waned just a little when I went inside to find a dirty dining area. The fact that it's a new place didn't seem to keep the ants away... and for having 40 people in the back making orders, I thought perhaps one of them could have swept the dining room floor. But what can you expect, it's fast food and it's in the Atlanta area. That's pretty standard these days in our 3rd world state. The food is what I was there for anyway. It was ALMOST as good as I remembered it. Still a hell of a lot better than that nasty crap Taco Bell sells these days. I don't ever remember the pico-style salsa on the tacos so I don't know if that's new or if it's just been that long since I've had Del Taco. I'm not a fan, but next time I will know to just order it without. I still love those Macho Tacos and Burritos.
