The morning manager seems angry when you come in there early in the morning. He is real busy setting up the restaurant for the coming day. With his clipboard in hand taking our order, speaks in short, fast sentences.

1 bite taco. Do not recommend.

This place charges more than other Del tacos due to the location in Torrance I assume. if you want any deals go to another Del taco. For example, taco Tuesday is three for three dollars here and three tacos for two dollars everywhere else. They also charge five dollars for the chicken tacos instead of three dollars for the deal. Also, also the tacos in this deal are half the size of their normal tacos , which is misleading.

I'm an advocate for "everyone has bad days," and sometimes the food isn't perfect. But this was the first time in a long time that I've been actually concerned for my safety by finishing a meal. I ordered the shrimp burrito which is normally very good from Del taco, but the tails on the shrimp became so incredibly stale. It was unreal. I couldn't even break them down. I had to pull them out and take off the tail. I got a little more than half way through and just gave up on it. Then I took a bite of the grilled chicken taco and immediately had a fragrant / bitter bite. It smelled almost like a chemical. Like paint. I thought I might have just been mistaken so I asked someone else to smell it. Didn't say why, and they had the same reaction of "wtf was that." It tasted horrible so I trashed that. Not sure what's going on here, but I wouldn't eat here again. Nothing seemed to be off in the taco, but I posted a pic.

    This is what I ordered....

The chips and salsa, the elote, the ceviche were spectacular! The salsas are so tasty! The elote hit the spot! And the ceviche was a large portion which was perfect to share! The tacos were very good! One thing I would change is their tortilla, but the carne asada was tender and well flavored! The fish taco could've used some crema. The service here is some of the best I've experienced. As someone in hospitality, Arturo deserves all the flowers! So kind and friendly! On point! The space has a nice outdoor patio that has covering for shade. We will definitely come back!

Service was very friendly and attentive and we were promptly seated and served fresh chips along with a trio of salsas which were fresh and had the perfect levels of spice. My son had the kids enchilada and enjoyed his meal. I ordered 3 tacos from the à la carte menu. The chicken was fine but the fish and shrimp were undercooked and I couldn't eat them, which is why I deducted the one star. The other deduction was for the underwhelming flavors in the meals themselves. Usually when a Mexican restaurant had amazing salsa, the same vibe carries through with the entrees , but unfortunately it wasn't my experience. I would probably try once more and edit my review based on a second experience.

We had reservations and were seated promptly, and when an unexpected guest joined our party, the staff quickly and graciously accommodated us. The patio atmosphere was fantastic, with a beautiful blend of Mexican culture and Southern California flair. Live musicians moved from table to table taking requests and serenading guests. They were charming, talented, and added something genuinely special to the evening. Our waiter, Renee, was outstanding. He was patient while we waited for our final guest, attentive without rushing us, courteous, and full of great recommendations. He worked hard, always had a smile, and clearly takes pride in what he does. Exceptional service deserves recognition, and Renee absolutely earned it. I highly recommend the carnitas plate. The meat was tender and juicy, never greasy, with the perfect amount of crispness and bark. My personal test for Mexican cuisine is simple: get the beans and rice right first. Frida nailed both, and everything else followed suit. In Southern California, great Mexican food is everywhere, but Frida offers something beyond just a good meal. Quality ingredients, thoughtful preparation, excellent hospitality, live music, beautiful decor, and genuine cultural character all come together to create a complete dining experience. It is a little pricier than a casual Mexican meal, but worth every penny. From the welcoming hosts and talented musicians to Renee's exceptional service, everyone contributed to a terrific evening for our family and guests. Great food, great people, great atmosphere. This is what good looks like. Highly recommended. We will absolutely be back.

I've been here before, and the birria tacos were exactly what I needed for a late-night craving. Crispy on the outside with a good amount of filling and strong flavor - they really hit the spot. I ended up having four of them. The consomé on the side was really good too - rich and flavorful, almost something I could've just had on its own. The street tacos were solid. The carnitas had that tender, slightly crisp texture, and the al pastor added a bit more seasoning and contrast. Nothing overcomplicated, just straightforward and satisfying. Service was friendly, and the setup is quick and casual. In the South Bay where places tend to close early, it was nice that they were open until around 10pm. Overall, this is a no-frills taco spot where the focus is on the food. Easy choice when you're in the mood for tacos.

They used to let you pick from more choices years ago but free is free right? I chose the number 4 which is a tamale with beans and rice. My wife ordered their chicken tortilla soup which has been a longtime favorite. The size of the bowl has diminished about 30% from what I remember but that's been a common theme the past few years in many places so oh well. We also ordered a side of chicken taquitos which came with a generous amount of sour cream and guacamole. The food was very good overall although the chunks of beef in my tamale were dry. I prefer chicken but unfortunately they were out. I should have asked for pork but didn't think about it till later. Our server was very helpful and just a sweet, thoughtful young lady. The gentleman bussing tables was also friendly and considerate. Prices have definitely gone up but those are the times in which we live. There is street parking and an underground parking garage a short distance away. There are quite a few restaurants in the area so parking can be a little challenging. With so many new restaurants in downtown Torrance, La Capilla may no longer be at the pinnacle of food choices but for longtime South Bay residents, it would be sad to see it go. It's nice to have places that bring back memories of wonderful times gone by.

LETS TALK ABOUT NOW': HORRIBLE DOESN'T DO JUSTICE. The chicken taco fell completely apart, and was freezing cold. The burrito had no flavor, there was none in the sauce or the meat or anything. The rice made you want to gag, I don't think a stray dog would eat it. Lastly my meal, enchiladas. I mean, come on how do you eff that up?! The cheese wasn't melted, the tortilla was raw and needed to be heated (or fried) Either way save your money, and take the drive up to another well known spot.

Today was the asada vVda burrito. Deassada was fresh, tender and juicy with lots of flavor. All the other ingredients blended well. It was on a smaller side but just enough. Albondigas was the worst of the order. It was hardly a soup that brought savory broth feeling and tender meatballs that comfort you. Instead the broth was super bland, meatballs were flavorless and too firm to cut with the. Had lots of veggies which was a plus if you like sweet with veggies which I do. I just wish they were also tender, swimming and good broth. Most restaurant serve fresh chips and salsa which they did. Complimentary chips were hard. This also was too heavy on oregano. Ordered some guacamole but had to ounce for them to cook fresh tosadas so we could eat with the guac instead of the hard chips. $14 wasn't too bad for the price and the portion. I did enjoy the one fish taco that I ordered. Was huge portion but stacked so high that you could barely close the tortilla. This is the first time I bought a flour. Tortilla worked well for the taco. It was also bland but I was able to salvage it with some of their spicy salsa that I requested. Places are heavy on the alcohol and drink menu which likely is a draw. I actually really love the Paloma which was non-alcoholic. However, the food must meet the mark and today I am sad to say it missed on several points For my standards. I really did appreciate the staff who were all very helpful, super friendly and did their best to accommodate all of our asks. The location is nice right on the Redondo Beach strip with so many food options to choose from.
