First time dining at this restaurant with two friends after work. It's an old town Torrance and there's free street parking. We started with classic margaritas which I somehow forgot to take a picture of. They were tasty- no skimping on the alcohol here. I ordered the chimichanga and it had loads of chicken with guacamole, and it's usually served with sour cream, but I decided to skip that part. My friends both enjoy their meals and have leftovers to take home. Really good portion sizes for the price. Service was excellent, and it was certainly a family, friendly vibe. Reasonably priced I will add this to my rotation.

I have worked for years at a big building a few blocks away. Grew up eating this fare but with tastier green chile. Prices are not as affordable as it used to be. The flan isn't as sweet with caramel. [[HIGHLIGHT]]Ambiance is super dark and red. Like a vampire den.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Wet burritos are decent and a good size. Beans and rice are tasty. Free chips and salsa. They'll keep bringing more salsa, good - I marinate myself in this. Yes, some of the waitresses are indeed persnickety. Free birthday entree and flan on the day of your birthday. That's nice!

Food and Service were excellent. Jocelyn made my birthday dinner very enjoyable with her attitude, friendliness and service. Great experience .. I highly recommend get her as your server when visiting this establishment.. [[HIGHLIGHT]]everybody was there having a good time casual dress casual feel but it did get a little hot in there since it was so crowded .. need to turn the air conditioner[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]]

Parking is tight so be papered to walk or circle the block a couple times. [[HIGHLIGHT]]Dark inside but it goes with the ambiance.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Came for the birthday special. Great drinks. Super kind staff. [[HIGHLIGHT]]Very comfy booths and lots of family sized tables.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]]

This is my go to place for Mexican cuisine. I have been coming here for over 40 years. The service is very quick from being seated to being served our food. The quality of the food is consistently excellent, stellar in fact! Portions are huge. Every visit you are automatically given a fresh batch of tortilla chips and delicious salsa. Pitchers of margaritas are very well crafted and they do not skimp on the amount of tequila. [[HIGHLIGHT]]The ambiance is upbeat.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] [[HIGHLIGHT]]They don't sing for people celebrating a birthday[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]]

Wow, the portions here are HUGE! Ordered the Enchiladas and Arroz con Pollo and these plates were hefty! Each order comes with a soup or salad. Go for the albondigas soup because it's so good! The bowl looks small but it's filled with 3-4 meatballs and loaded with veggies. I will be ordering a full portion on my next visit.. yes, it's that good! Great service!

La Capilla has been a reliable choice for a decent Mexican dinner for many years in Old Torrance. I have been coming here since 2006. The staff has changed but the quality of food hasn't changed much. My favorite dishes are the three item combo, beef hard shell taco, chicken enchilada and a chili relleno or the camerones a la diabla or the al mojo de ajo and a blended mango margarita or a Modelo Negra. The chips and salsa are good also. Inside is usually quiet to moderate noise and dark. Service is always attentive and courteous. All the service staff are excellent and love seeing you having a good time.

Party of 10. Excellent night . Excellent service and great food. Huge portions. Ordered the carnitas plate and added a taco and few taquitos to my plate to fulfil my hunger. Look at that beautiful plate. All I can say is it was 5 star visit for me.

La Capilla has been our family go to since my girls were babies 40 years ago. Some of the servers still work there, some still recognize me. Our friends and family have met at La Capilla since the 80s. I always order the same thing shredded beef taco a la carte with a side of guacamole with Orange Fanta. That's it! It may not be the best around, but it's our best. It's better than any Mexican place near where we live in Seattle. So when we get a chance we tell friends to meet us there when we are in town. Everything is always fresh. From the chips and salsa they place in front of you, to the dishes you get after craving down the chips and pretty much drinking the salsa. The guacamole is more my choice, it's always made right for me. [[HIGHLIGHT]]The place is old, and has the OG Mexican charm where the servers still were the same outfits they wore when I was a teen.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] We'll always be back as long as they are still open.

I went to this restaurant recently for a late lunch with 3 friends while visiting in Torrance. [[HIGHLIGHT]]It was just like stepping into a wonderful restaurant in the past. So comfy, great service, friendly and colorful and retro decor.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Looks like a lot of locals. We ordered two mini tostadas, a carnitas burrito and the Puerto Vallarta, bacon wrapped shrimp. We also got 2 orders to go. The foot was delicious with large portions. I had a blended margarita which was also great. We will definitely come back when in the area.

We had a great time at this restaurant. The food was really good and portions were large. We had margaritas and they kept the chips and salsa coming would highly recommend. The service was very good and [[HIGHLIGHT]]the inside was decorated old Mexican style.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]]

One of my favorites in the South Bay. Have been here several times, including stops coming home from the Catalina Ferry terminal. DELICIOUS: My favorite is the Enchiladas Del Mar which never disappoints! Dealing with 405 was well worth the trip! [[HIGHLIGHT]]Friendly staff, nice location right Downtown and close to everything.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] My first discovery here was when The Broadway at Del Amo was still The Broadway. Always pleased to see it's still here and doing well. My server Maria G was excellent. I look forward to coming here again the next time I am near Torrance.

My son had the kids enchilada and enjoyed his meal. I ordered 3 tacos from the à la carte menu. The chicken was fine but the fish and shrimp were undercooked and I couldn't eat them, which is why I deducted the one star. The other deduction was for the underwhelming flavors in the meals themselves. Usually when a Mexican restaurant had amazing salsa, the same vibe carries through with the entrees , but unfortunately it wasn't my experience. I would probably try once more and edit my review based on a second experience.

I've been here before, and the birria tacos were exactly what I needed for a late-night craving. Crispy on the outside with a good amount of filling and strong flavor - they really hit the spot. I ended up having four of them. The consomé on the side was really good too - rich and flavorful, almost something I could've just had on its own. The street tacos were solid. The carnitas had that tender, slightly crisp texture, and the al pastor added a bit more seasoning and contrast. Nothing overcomplicated, just straightforward and satisfying. Service was friendly, and the setup is quick and casual. In the South Bay where places tend to close early, it was nice that they were open until around 10pm. Overall, this is a no-frills taco spot where the focus is on the food. Easy choice when you're in the mood for tacos.

After waiting about 10 minutes, I went to the counter, and it took even longer before an employee asked for my name. When they finally handed me my food, it was still in a bag even though my order was for dine-in, and I had to remind them to give me my drinks. They also forgot to include salsa for the chips. What really frustrated me was being told that next time I should just go to the counter after ordering at the kiosk. As a first-time customer, how was I supposed to know that? Today was the asada vVda burrito. Deassada was fresh, tender and juicy with lots of flavor. All the other ingredients blended well. It was on a smaller side but just enough. Albondigas was the worst of the order. It was hardly a soup that brought savory broth feeling and tender meatballs that comfort you. Instead the broth was super bland, meatballs were flavorless and too firm to cut with the. Had lots of veggies which was a plus if you like sweet with veggies which I do. I just wish they were also tender, swimming and good broth. Most restaurant serve fresh chips and salsa which they did. Complimentary chips were hard. This also was too heavy on oregano. Ordered some guacamole but had to ounce for them to cook fresh tosadas so we could eat with the guac instead of the hard chips. $14 wasn't too bad for the price and the portion. I did enjoy the one fish taco that I ordered. Was huge portion but stacked so high that you could barely close the tortilla. This is the first time I bought a flour. Tortilla worked well for the taco. It was also bland but I was able to salvage it with some of their spicy salsa that I requested. Places are heavy on the alcohol and drink menu which likely is a draw. I actually really love the Paloma which was non-alcoholic. However, the food must meet the mark and today I am sad to say it missed on several points For my standards. I really did appreciate the staff who were all very helpful, super friendly and did their best to accommodate all of our asks. The location is nice right on the Redondo Beach strip with so many food options to choose from.
