The menu is a bit disorganized, but if you spend a few minutes studying you'll get a good idea of what's offered. Yes, most options are typical of a Mexican restaurant, so if you're craving something, you can likely order it. Guacamole was decent, though I think it could have used some onions and Serrano or jalapeño. Chips are house made and on the thicker side. I loved them. Margaritas were a B-. My salted rim was maybe an inch long, in other words there was no salted rim. If I had ordered a 2nd, I would have asked for a full salted rim. Also, the Cadillac option was not served with a side shot if Grand Marnier. I'll have to assume the bartender shakes it all together (which is why I prefer the GM be served on the side). Not thrilled about the size or the price, but these days, nothing surprises me. $15 for Cadillac and $14 for regular margarita. He enjoyed his dozen oysters and the Caldo de Siete Mares. No leftovers, so there's that. The Mole Enchiladas, Carne Asada and Carne Asada a la Diabla (spicy shrimp) were enjoyed and plenty of leftovers for a couple more meals. Portions are generous. Lots of parking. Easy to find and effortless access into and out of the lot because it's in a strip mall/housing corner. Just across from Harbor UCLA Hospital. I hadn't been in this building since it changed, so when my girlfriend wanted to try it out, I was more intrigued on how different it looked. They kept a majority of its bones and major structure, but it definitely took on a role as a Mexican restaurant. Next to them were pico de Gallo and a scoop of good guacamole. The rice was delicious and the beans were great too. This used to be one of our go-to places for carne asada fries. Honestly not the best place for Mexican food but they had decent carne asada fries. They offered two sizes (super asada fries and an appetizer size) that came with sour cream, melted shredded cheese, guacamole and asada on top of thin, crispy fries. The service was typically a bit slow considering they were never really busy during all the times we have been; however it didn't usually bother us though because it was worth it for the asada fries. We haven't been here since the pandemic but decided recently to try dining outside if it was available. I'm not sure what has changed since we have last been but a number of things went wrong on this visit, to the point where we might not come back. We ordered our typical super asada fries with an extra side of guacamole and asked for the sour cream on the side. We were told initially by our waiter that it doesn't come with anything aside from meat and cheese; however when pressed he said maybe guacamole as well. Perhaps that should have been a sign because when our order came, it was not what we expected. What we received was half chicken, half asada over chips with melted cheese, chopped tomatoes, refried beans, and a small dollop of guacamole on top. I am not sure how "super asada fries" resulted in this but we decided to accept the incorrect dish and try again, this time making sure our waiter confirmed "asada fries". When the waiter returned with the new asada fries, it still was not what we were hoping for. They used medium-sized seasoned fries (imagine curly fries but not curly and slightly thicker) and these type of fries or any kind of seasoned fries just aren't the best option for carne asada fries. The cheese was also hardly melted; however it did come with sour cream and guacamole. Overall, this experience was just disappointing and we are never coming back for carne asada fries. read more

Service is nice on a Saturday night. We sat down right away and the waitress came immediately. Chips and salsa are good. The chips, delicious. In the salsa, there were some fairly large chunks of tomatoes. Not too much of a fan of that. Entrees were a fair portion for the price. My taco had beans in it which made it interesting. It kind of made my taco shell soggy. Enchiladas were okay. I ordered one chicken and one cheese. The cheese they use is authentic but I'm not use to it. The chicken was cut pretty fine. It resembled ground meat. The beans, you could taste the lard. And rice, didn't look like anything worthy. My husband enjoyed the meat on his dish. He says the beans were missing a kick, and tasted like lard. The rice was just eh. He feels like most of the work was in the carne asada. Enchiladas on his plate were different and good. On both dishes, they should have put some sour cream. They came with guacamole though. Overall, filling and worth trying. We'll be back to try something different next time. read more
