The salsas are so tasty! The elote hit the spot! And the ceviche was a large portion which was perfect to share! The tacos were very good! One thing I would change is their tortilla, but the carne asada was tender and well flavored! The fish taco could've used some crema. The service here is some of the best I've experienced. After checking out local reviews we decided to have dinner at Maderos. At first we were confused because the sign at the foor said they were closed but when we saw a couple go Inside , we realized they were open. Service was very friendly and attentive and we were promptly seated and served fresh chips along with a trio of salsas which were fresh and had the perfect levels of spice. My son had the kids enchilada and enjoyed his meal. I ordered 3 tacos from the à la carte menu. The chicken was fine but the fish and shrimp were undercooked and I couldn't eat them, which is why I deducted the one star. The other deduction was for the underwhelming flavors in the meals themselves. Usually when a Mexican restaurant had amazing salsa, the same vibe carries through with the entrees , but unfortunately it wasn't my experience. Came on Tuesday around opening. Not busy. Servers was friendly. Was looking for wet burrito by didn't see it on the menu. Got the fajitas that came with shrimp, chicken and beef and flour tortilla. It's a bit expensive but comes with a lot of food that you can split with 2 people. Also includes chips with small guac/salsa. As for the food itself, the chicken was a bit dry. Didn't really like the flavor of the shrimp. The beef, veggies and rice were good. The salsa and guac didn't have much flavor. I really loved coming here, they give you such an authentic experience. We came by on a Sunday evening and had no trouble getting a table for four on the patio outside. They immediately bring around chips and three types of salsa, which is such a nice gesture to still get at some places. The service was great, they help each other. My boyfriend and I found this place after spending a long day on the beach and I'm so glad we did! It wasn't crowded at all when we arrived around 4pm and we were seated right away. They brought us complimentary chips with 3 different salsas. The pico de gallo was the most flavorful but the other 2 were also good. We ordered the whole fried fish, shrimp ceviche, and some shrimp and fish tacos. The ceviche came with a heaping amount of shrimp that was fresh and seasoned well. The whole fried fish was delicious, especially with the rice and beans that accompanied it. We made some tacos with the tortillas it came with. Finally, the shrimp and fish tacos were juicy and flavorful. Overall, everything tasted great and we'd definitely return. The only thing that left a bad taste in our mouths is that the service was a little slow even though the restaurant itself wasn't too busy and a lot of groups who arrived later than us received their food a lot faster than we did. As we were leaving around 5, the restaurant started filling up and getting busier, so I assume it is busy during peak hours on the weekend. We ate at Maderos yesterday and I honestly can't stop thinking about the food! It's in such a cute spot right on PCH in Redondo Beach, which already makes it a great place to stop, but the food completely exceeded our expectations. Everything tasted incredibly fresh and perfectly seasoned. We ordered the carne asada and carnitas, and both were amazing. The meat was tender, flavorful, and not fatty at all just perfectly cooked and packed with flavor. My daughter had the bean and cheese burrito with rice and beans and loved it too. They bring out three different salsas with the chips, and each one had its own unique flavor. You can tell the chips are house-made because they're fresh, crisp, and just really good. Some Mexican restaurants can make things overly salty, but everything here tasted balanced and fresh. I also had a Paloma and it was made perfectly. Before we left we decided to try the churros and I'm so glad we did. They were filled with this amazing cream and came with a caramel sauce for dipping. I haven't dined here in years. I recall my last visit was very good so we decided to return. The restaurant was very empty when we arrived. In fact we were the only customers. But soon more people began arriving. The server was friendly and prompt. I ordered the Camarónes Borrachos which I found somewhat disappointing. The pieces of shrimp were small, short on quality, very dry and rather blah in taste. This isn't a dish I'll order here again. It was well presented but the beauty did not translate to the taste. My guest ordered the Carnitas and said it as one of the best dishes of that type he ever had. He was very satisfied and we agreed to return again on the future. The restaurant has a private parking lot and there was abundant street parking available. It's a nice restaurant with excellent service and good prices. I love this little restaurant. The steak fajitas are tender and full of steak'ish flavor. The wet burritos are filling. I don't usually write reviews like this because I'd consider myself someone with a lot of patience. But my partner and I came to Maderos tonight after looking around Yelp and seeing how many great reviews it had. When we arrived, we were pleasantly surprised by the ambiance and decided to sit outside, which felt perfect for a Sunday evening. We each ordered Orden De Tacos -- which is two tacos with rice and beans -- which seems simple enough. But after a while, we started noticing that people who arrived after us were ordering, getting their food, eating, paying, and leaving while we were still waiting. Again, all we had ordered was four tacos total, plus rice and beans. About 50 minutes after we placed our order, I finally got up to ask our waiter if he could check on our food because it had been such a long wait. If they were too busy (there were a lot of people, but not absurdly so), that's where communication could have gone a long way. Even just stopping by to acknowledge the delay or apologize for the wait would have made the experience feel very different. In the end, it took nearly an hour to get our four tacos from the time we ordered it, and the wait wasn't mentioned by staff at all. The food was okay in the end, but the experience definitely left us disappointed. read more

Good experience for a spur-of-the-moment walk-in. We ordered the fish taco, carnitas taco, and the mixed fish and shrimp ceviche. The fish taco was the standout: plump, well seasoned, and genuinely delicious. The ceviche was just okay; I wish the pepper flavor came through more. I appreciated that they give each table three house salsas, and they do have their own parking lot (I ended up parking across the street since I didn't know that beforehand). Probably our new favorite Mexican food spot! My wife, son and I came on a weekend evening and the place wasn't busy at all. We were greeted and seated right away. The chips and salsa alone are worth going back for. It's complimentary and they keep it coming. I ordered their burrito with carne asada, my wife got their chicken tortilla soup, and my son got the kids quesadilla with barbacoa. We all enjoyed our food and their portion sizes are nice. I'm very picky when it comes to Mexican cuisine. The physical space was fantastic with a nice open area for seating. The service was great and the chips and salsa were fantastic and I ordered crispy Carnitas with rice and beans and flour tortillas and it was extremely delicious. My daughter and I went on a walk today and decided to check out Maderos for happy hour. Tacos are $3.50 and the house margarita is $8 before 6pm. She got the kids quesadilla and I got the shrimp, barbacoa and carne tacos. We went around 5:30 and we were one of the first tables. We sat outside, which was relaxing. They start you off with chips and salsa, but the salsa is actually a salsa trio, very nice touch and I loved these salsa options for my tacos! We do not live in the area and when we are in the area we like to pay Maderos a visit. This time we had a giant burrito, carne asada plate and the chile relleno again because they make the rellenos in house and are sooo good. There is plenty of seating inside and out. A nice bar area with televisions. The restrooms are inside and were clean. There is parking in back as well as on the street. Keep in mind this is a very busy area, but it is worth the busy PCH traffic. The margaritas are always perfect and the chips and three different salsas are a wonderful plus. We went on Cinco de Mayo and even though they were jam-packed, the service was still attentive and the quality of the food did not suffer at all. Although, people started flowing in closer to noon. The menu has typical Mexican American fare (not quite typical "brunch" items). We tried the tacos, enchiladas, and chile relleno. The relleno was good, not spicy at all, and the enchiladas verde were very good - lots of chicken. The tacos were okay - nothing special. The carnitas and barbacoa though were better than the shrimp which was not good unfortunately. I also tried a watermelon mojito which was way too sweet, not refreshing like others I've had. Maybe stick to their tequila cocktails. The service was friendly. In particular , the busser was very accommodating and generous with chips and salsa which we very much appreciated. There are plenty of areas to be seated. We ordered the carne asada and carnitas plate with rice and beans. Everything tasted great. I think the carnitas were my favorite out of both plates.
