This was our second time here. And I must say for this place to be so somewhat out-of-the-way place, to me it is a little gem. It is nothing to get overly excited about, BUT it is very clean and such a warm place to be. I had the "The Big Daddy" and my wife had the The Roy Lee's breakfast casserole. For me it was a toss up between the INDY 500 and the Big Daddy. Chelsea, the server, said that both were very good, but she would go with the Big Daddy and she was spot on. The piece of pork was so tender I could have cut it with the fork. As soon as I hit it with the knife I was surprised at how slick the knife sliced right thru it. The Casserole that my wife had was also very good. This place is one you may have to hunt for, because it sits back off the road behind a auto tire and repair shop. We sat on the Diner side, which is actually the kitchen where you could watch the food being prepared. On the other side it is like a dining hall. So take your pick as to which side to be seated. I could take off one star for toast being soggy instead of toasted or the croutons being, again, soggy instead of crunchy (both likely means too much grease) - but honestly rest of it was so great I cant do it. Even cooks were professional and efficient. Only one star off for the speed. Even the head cook mentioned they sat too many tables and I agree - they couldn't keep up. Was expecting a better value from a diner, especially given all the reviewers here that mention how "cheap" it is. Then again, for the quality of food, prices are good enough. Plus being a small business its expected to charge a little more Layout/Safety: 2 stars. Counter service is very close to busy cooks and food material. Some of that is expected and on its own would not be an issue since it IS a diner setup, after all. However, I witnessed cooks occasionally use the customer eating service/counter area as extra working space occasionally, be it for uncooked food or as a final "prep station", which is a no-no. Perhaps the bigger issue is "the window". Completed orders are placed on a wire rack that is adjacent to the cook station/counter and literally right in front of where you enter the restaurant. Its not blocked, partitioned off, anything. While that certainly makes it convenient for cooks/servers, it also means any customer can walk-by, bump, sneeze, touch, breathe-on-with-a-cold, cough etc the completed orders sitting there awaiting a server to deliver. I've never seen an establishment - even other diners - do a setup quite like that. That said, during my time I didn't see anything bad occur with that setup in particular - i.e. servers and cooks moved around and handled things safely. So its more that it presents the POTENTIAL for issues Given the later issues - would I try it again? Actually, yes! It certainly increases some food risk, but that just has to be taken into account as it does at any establishment read more

What a wonderful surprise to find this delightful diner. We had breakfast which was all fresh, plentiful and economical. I saw their specialty is pork tenderloin which will be on my must have next time I come in as I saw them bringing out the tenderloin fresh and slicing it for their lunch crowd. My husband went their for lunch fri March 30; 2018. Service was friendly and efficient. I ordered the double cheeseburger with fries. Food came out piping hot the burger patties were juicy but crisp around the edges. Fries were hot and crispy. Perfect diner burger. My husband ordered the pork tenderloin sandwich, as transplanted Hoosiers, these are difficult to find around here. The pork tenderloin was panko breaded and crispy juicy inside. Any diner that serves Pasta Salvi has to be at the top of the list. If you are familiar with the restaurant chain called Salvi's here in Columbus, back in the 90's, they were famous for their deep fried macaroni and cheese and now the recipe has been passed on to Delaney's. I had a pounded and panco encrusted pork tenderloin (big as my head) sandwich on a regular size bun with pickles, onion, lettuce, tomato, and mustard with a side of pasta salvi and coleslaw. On the lighter side my wife had the pasta salvi with a salad for $7.50 and mine was $13.00 with an extra side. Their breakfast food is great as well as many other sandwiches to choose from. Just average food, the scrambled eggs are not fluffy at all, there more of a flat kind of fried egg thing, the bacon was not great tasted like it had been sitting around and i think it was since i was sitting at the counter and didn't see the cook make any bacon, hash browns tasted like the grease from a hamburger kind of good but not the taste you want with breakfast maybe that's why the cook threw a big pile of them away right after putting some on my plate. Not sure if they switched the suppler for the cinnamon rolls but the last one I had here was great this one was just OK and kind of cold in the middle. Eggs scrambled to me does not mean a flatten pressed down egg! All bets were off for me! No where is this the definition of scrambled! Don't be fooled by the mediocre looks outside, or that it's in a "meh" strip mall. The renovations of the inside are so cool, rather retro decor, and extremely clean! The staff was friendly, and the food was above the usual breakfast enclaves for sure! I felt at home, and would not hesitate to eat here alone, or take a group! The wait time was a bit long to be seated, but it WAS on a Sunday around noon, so what can you really expect for such good food and friendly service? Yes, you could go elsewhere. ..wait just as long, and pay more, get mediocre food and service. My friend and I were both very pleased, and we will be back! I've visited this establishment on three different occasions so I could give it a thorough review. The revamped interior is very nice and appealing I like the playfulness. They increased their dining space but the kitchen area remains as small as it was in the previous place. This could explain that the two times I dined in it took some time to receive our food. It was in a black carry out container and a big mound of chicken salad was on some shredded lettuce with six pieces of fruit in a container as your side. Her pork loin was huge but it was on a regular burger bun which made it hard to handle. She said too bready and didn't think the sandwich had much flavor. It was weird too that we were sat by ourselves in the new dining area when they are weren't even busy. Next stop was for breakfast with my husband. We asked to be seated at the bar and that's where we sat for almost ten minutes waiting on a server. I ordered the western omelette with hash browns and sourdough toast and my hubby ordered the corn beef hash with two eggs over medium and sourdough toast. We received our food after about a half hour so don't go here really hungry as it's a wait to get your food. I was surprised that you only receive one piece of toast with your meal. Struck me really odd. The best thing was the hash browns done really crispy. My omelette was ok nothing special and I did like the quality of the bread but yet only one piece. They say their hash is the best in town but my hubby said it was too chewy and you get just two eggs with it with no green peppers just onions and the aforementioned one piece of toast. If you ever visited this place when it was Best Breakfast and Sandwiches, the experience with the new owners is even better; and for the record, I enjoyed it when it was the old owners. A friend of mine told my daughter & I that she had found a place that served PastaSalvi. We were excited to try Delaney's. We finally went yesterday. Had to wait a few minutes for our table, but it gave us an opportunity to see the wonderful breakfast dishes going by. I decided to get a PastaSalvi and something else. Nicki was our waitress and she was awesome! She suggested the French Toast, because it is made on Challah. You could order one, two or three pieces. What a great choice. This diner is amazing! Today was my first time going. The place is very clean and the decor is nice. My food was hot and delicious, and the portion size was huge for the price! I had take home and my meal only cost $5! The staff was warm and friendly! Jeff, the owner came to our table a few times to make sure we were doing well! I also saw him cleaning a table, which was refreshing to see the owner helping with the "dirty" work. We were there start to finish for about an hour. Decided to adventure outside of the city for some breakfast. Found this spot through the app and figured why not. Location is a little sketch but don't let the outside fool ya. When you enter you are greeted and could see the clean open kitchen there is some seating on this side with the majority on the right side. Breakfast had your usual suspects and a few house specialties. I tried their breakfast casserole ( eggs sausage cheese and croutons ) the waitress suggested a side of sausage gravy with it...so I did. Coffee was decent and kept full! Breakfast came tasted a little bland could have used some salt added the sausage gravy and that helped. Portion size was spot on I left very full.
