    Ohio crossword on wall

I enjoyed my second visit to Galena Diner. This time I got the ham and cheese on a pretzel bun with a side of French onion soup. Loved the sandwich, the soup was just meh. First time seeing the crossword puzzle on the wall. A fun touch!

I wish I could give 4.5 stars. We went on a Sunday around 11 for breakfast and there was a 20-minute wait, so obviously a popular spot. The service was attentive and helpful - our server gave suggestions of the most popular dishes (anything with the gravy). We got a ham and cheese omelette with home fries and the chicken and biscuit benny (fried chicken on a biscuit with chipotle hollandaise sauce, home fries). The food was great, the home fries nice and crispy. The ambiance is nice, what you would expect for a diner. I want to go back and try the breakfast bowl - eggs, home fries, bacon covered in gravy. They also have an assortment of cakes and breakfast rolls that look really good.

Great little place with solid service. A real nice homely feel. All the food came out hot and fresh. No complaints at our table. We'll definitely be back when in town.

Stopped into Galena Diner because nothing says "weekend success" like eggs, carbs, and a room full of people who understand the sacredness of breakfast foods. I ordered Cesar's Hash (Short Rib Hash) with wheat toast, and honestly? Solid choice. The short rib was great, the toast did its job, and the potatoes were the real MVP -- crispy, cooked perfectly, and basically the Beyoncé of the plate. I should have specified how I wanted my eggs cooked. That's on me. Over medium is my go-to, but I must've blacked out from hunger and forgot. It happens. The coffee? Dependable and energizing -- not fancy, not dramatic, just steady caffeine support like a reliable coworker who shows up on time and doesn't overshare. And let me tell you: this place was incredibly busy at 8:10 AM. Like, "half the town decided pancakes were urgent" busy. But the staff handled it like pros. Before heading out, I grabbed breakfast for the tribe: Kentucky Special (eggs, potatoes, sausage gravy over biscuits), also known as "the plate that could feed Kentucky." French Toast with Bacon, which is universally loved by children, adults, and anyone with functioning taste buds. Not a crumb survived. They cleaned those plates like they were being judged. Final Verdict: Galena Diner knocks out classic breakfast like a champ -- great food, great coffee, and legendary potatoes, even during the 8 AM breakfast rush of doom.

Friends took us here for lunch. I ordered breakfast. Everyone's meal was good. Comfortable atmosphere and great town.

We stopped in on a Sunday afternoon, and we were the only ones there! Our server was super nice, and the food came out quick. Important note - they do not do breakfast all day, so keep that in mind. I was a little disappointed by the lack of vegetarian options on the menu. I ordered a salad, some fries, and some potato salad. Everything was decent, but nothing really to write home about. I probably wouldn't make the drive again for lunch, but maybe I'll come back to try breakfast!

Great place for breakfast! Banana chocolate bread was so good! As was my scramble and my fiancés hash. There was a wait as it's fairly busy on Saturday mornings. Service was good too.

Galena Diner is hands down my favorite local spot to eat! I usually get the turkey melt every time as it's my favorite! It's so good and the fries are good. I sometimes try out the specials and I've also tried some soups. Nothing has disappointed me. I also always grab a slice of the chocolate dream cake! So good!! You walk in and get seated by a waitress, they're always quick and friendly. The place is small but it has such a small town vibe to it that makes it really nice. I am always willing to go eat there and will always recommend it!

Great diner in the middle of nowhere on the northeast side of the dam. Enjoyed having lunch on the outdoor patio. The Walleye fish was prepared perfectly and crispy. Really enjoyed the corn succotash.. Hummingbird cake was delicious. Staff was friendly. Prices were reasonable.

I heard a few people recommend this place, and I didn't have high expectations. For a diner I think it's great! I came for lunch and ordered the fish sandwich with fries and coleslaw. I was pleasantly surprised by the fish, it's not your typical frozen fish sandwich. I enjoyed it! The coleslaw doesn't seem stir bought but pretty fresh. My husband ordered the pancakes. They were pretty good as well. Service was great! Had to wait 15 minutes for a table. I can definitely see us coming here again, it's a nice casual place.

The restaurant is part of a golf course complex, and the Eggmann takes up maybe 3/5 of the building. It has a large dining room decorated in a very country style/crafty way. The views ofnthe golf course were nice, lots of windows it's very scenic. The tables were comfortable and the servers were nice. Just dont be in a hurry here as they (staff) move at their own pace. Lol. A bit slow to get our meal. It seems that their specialty is waffles. They looked really good. Actually, nearly 2/3 of the menu seems to involve a creative use of waffles. Not being in a waffle mood we both ordered the bacon avocado egg Benny. My husband paired it with a salad and I chose potato cubes. The salad was large for a side and my husband gave it thumbs up. The potato wedges were some of the best I have had and had enough for two people, to be honest. However the egg benny just didnt come together, imo. Here's my beef with it: is described as crispy bacon, ripe avocado, sautéed spinach, sunny side up eggs, house made hollandaise sauce on top of a toasted croissant. That all was correct. It seemed like it would work but it just didnt. My spinach and bacon were in the potatoes and not laying on the sandwich. The hollandaise sauce wasnt on top of my eggs like most Benedict. It was way under the eggs and laid in very sparse. Honestly, I could not even taste it. At first I thought the croissant was missing but then realized. Oh no, it was there -but just really cut super thin and of course, now soggy from being so thin and having the hollandaise right on top of it with a hot egg on top. Kind of mushy. Just didnt work.. For 14.75 a sandwich this was an utter disappointment as it just didnt come together. Tip: Skip it, Get the waffles. Dont think we will come back since we aren't waffle people. If we were- thats what we would stick to here.

Sierra, our server came over to greet us and took our orders. We started with a bloody Mary, a irish Mary, deviled eggs,,, drinks were crazy expensive but also crazy good. The deviled eggs is an excellent recipe. They were delicious and well presented. My son got the chorizo hash. It looked amazing. He confirmed it was. Both my husband and Ingot the frittata. At first I thought it looked over cooked but slicing it to it I realized it was perfect. Great flavor. Would order again. As far as value.... pricing was a bit odd. Some things we would of purchased were crazy expensive. Like a mimosa was 45. Thats insanity, imo. Another example: smoked salmon BLT was $21. The $14 salad entree, to out shrimp on it "added" $15 making it $29. I felt that was over inflated, as well. Regardless, we enjoyed what we ordered. Bunch for three with 2 drinks and a soda came to $91. So there are some decent menu items that are priced nicely. Not bad.
