I am thrilled by their service on each and every visit. I went today for my annual eye exam and from the time I walked in to the minute I left the staff was wonderful. The technician who did my eye exam took her time and explained things clearly. Dr. Jhawar also was very informative and answered all my questions. Prior to my visit I wasn't sure if I was going to get my glasses here or somewhere else. Well while browsing the eyeglass technician approached me. We talked and I decided with her help to try a few pairs of glasses on. Once she knew what I was looking for she quickly gave me several options for my taste. they always say they will call you when your lenses or frames are in but never do, then after waiting 2 weeks you call and they never pick up i do mean never!!!! the phone nor respond to voice messages unless you call the main desk and pretend that you are new patient and need appointment only to have them say again that you will get a call back that something is always wrong with the phone. professionalism and customer serivice is a complete joke for this place. my last time with them. read more

I had an eye exam June 2nd it is now July 3rd and my glasses are still not in they said that it will be 2 to 3 weeks they didn't say an entire month. I've been calling everyday they say that they will get back to you within 24 hours and nobody has contacted me whatsoever. I am currently wearing my old glasses which are hanging off of my face and I cannot see Clearly. I feel that they do not care about their patients or they would have returned their calls as I have left several messages so this gets zero Stars in my opinion read more

First, Kimmie is the coordinator for Cataract surgery and is exceptional! She is extremely detail oriented, proactive, and stays on top of all the details to ensure smooth sailing prior to and post surgery. I'm so pleased. Dr. Doyle is excellent and highly skilled. I am happy I trusted him to do my surgery! I highly recommend. Note- the office can be very crowded with patients. Know this in advance in case they run late. read more

The service at this place is awful!!!! They never ever answer the phone. My glasses were ordered wrong and the second pair was never ordered. I have been waiting two months for them . Aubrey needs to admit when she has lied!!!! I know what you told me cause I asked several times. How in the world are you gonna be rude to me when you made the mistake!!!! I have been very impressed with the doctors I've seen at Delaware Eye Care, kind , curious and thorough. My rating is low because the post doctor care is seriously lacking. I would not recommend them because of the lack of concern and for not returning calls they insist will be returned. I am get contacts for the first time and after nearing three weeks now I've heard nothing of my trial set. I would be fine if they simply said they are not in but twice on my calling three days apart, I have been told someone will call me back the same day. If I could leave a zero rating I would, this is my 3rd visit in a month. Each time the staff has been professional but unfriendly. Optometrist didn't even introduce himself as I was a new patient. As others have said, this is an assembly line outfit. Each time I've had to wait over an hour for my procedure. They put you in a dark room with 12 chairs to wait. I have a 11:30 appointment and it is now 12:20 and I'm still waiting. read more

Their billing is horrible. They don't know what they're doing when it comes to insurance companies. Since they don't know what they're doing they come after the customer to make payments just because they don't know how to make a simple claim with insurance company. They also said we would get 9 months of contacts! We go pick up the contacts and we only got 3 months and again it's because of an insurance issue. This place is a joke. My kids and I have been going to Bear Eye Care Center for about 4 years. The staff in the back have been professionally great, but the staff in the front are extremely rude. I walked in today to report a rude staff to the manager, and they won't even allow me to speak with a manager. I'll be back tomorrow requesting to speak with a manager. I won't rest until I've seen a manager, and as of today, my kids and I will be transferring to another eye center. If they do not train these front desk staff to treat their customers with respect, they will lose a lot of customers. read more

The doctors are professional and seemingly kind. The break down for this office is always the front desk staff. Starting with Jackie who seems to negatively influence the others. Jackie has a terrible attitude, she's argumentative while sitting behind that desk, she appears to hate her job and she is allowed to disrespect patients. I would never have her working my front desk of anything. If the higher ups in this place stop allowing the front desk staff to be rude and unprofessional to patients, the ratings for this place will more than likely improve since the doctors seem to care and are always very nice. However, the front desk staff here are so bad that its hard to appreciate anything else about this place. read more

Lovely place. The self check in was smooth. Unfortunately....I made an appointment because I was in fear that both my retinas were in need of attention. Got there and had my 5 year old daughter with me and was told I had to reschedule (after a 3 month wait!) Yea, I was pissed! Told me it was because of covid. Like cmon! She's 5! I'm going to be honest and say that at first i didn't like this eye doctor, but when i gave it a second chance i got glasses that finally matched my prescription and didn't give me headaches. When i decided to get contacts i was given a lesson on how to use and care for them. I was very pleased with how patient the workers were with me learning how to use them. The reason i gave this office 4 out of 5 stars is because the wait is usually a little long. read more

Horrible company to work for. They love to take advantage of their employees, and hire people in useless management positions who put makeup on during working hours and pretend to be doing something . When you need something no one knows who to talk to, you have to figure it out yourself. They make their patients wait 3 hours for a normal eye exam and charge out the ass. we been going to this place from last 9 years for our eye care . this place used to be great but from last 4-5 years the quality of service had gone worse , front desk person does not know what she's doing, long wait time at the office ,always have to wait more than an hour (once it took more than five hours ) from last 4-5 yeas since the management changed the copay or contact fitting fee went up & have to pay every year. before it use to be one time fitting fee for new contact lens users. this place is all about money not value patient care. finally decided to switch eye care provider . read more

My family has been using Delaware Eye Care in Newark for 14 years. The service has been excellent...until recently. Not sure what has happened, but allot of little things seems to be adversely affecting their, heretofore, excellent customer service. Examples include: changing insurance companies and not notifying the patient..until they come in for their appointment (resulting in higher out of pocket cost), and limiting front desk personnel enough authority to resolve minor issues or having an efficient system to do so. This was perhaps the WORST experience I have ever had at a medical care provider. I have never left a negative review on yelp, but felt the need with this place because of how awful it is. From the long wait, a patient sleeping on the floor, and the minimal time the doctor will spend with you -- it was a complete waste of time. They have an assembly line service and do not appreciate customers or provide good service. Even the doctor rushed me through the visit and only met with me for two minutes after waiting at least an hour to see her with a packed room of other patients. When I left, the receptionist was extremely rude and yelled at me when I asked if I was ok to leave. If you liked rushed service, refusal of the doctor to answer questions as they rush you through a visit, and a busy waiting room with others literally sleeping on the floor, then this is the place for you. I provided a survey of my experience to the office and did not even hear back. I was also told when leaving that I could meet with someone to buy eyeglasses, "if I wanted to." Came here assuming good and efficient eye care. I was here a month ago with my daughter. They were delayed 1 hour that time and also charge. $60 contact fitting fee every time. Since that appointment was in the afternoon I figure I give them a second chance and booked an appointment 8:30am. Well I have now waited until 9 am and still have not even started the process. We were here a year ago and did not think it was that bad but now never coming back. Would leave but I need my contact prescription filled. read more

I had a thick cataract in one eye and a smaller one in the other. Dr. Markowitz removed both, and my vision is now perfect in each eye without glasses, both at middle and far distances. It's a life-changing miracle! He and the staff were friendly and knowledgeable at all times, and they easily coped with my anxiety about the operation. In reality, the procedure is wholly painless and not unpleasant at all; I should have had it years ago. Our insurance (Highmark) forces us to go to this practice. It has been a crazy ride. Very long appointment wait times (1.5 hours), disorganization, billed "double" for several orders. (they said they had a new system, but it just happened again. The people working there seem to be nice, but I think the management is the problem.
