Roberto came over to put 3 tarps on my roof due to a leaky roof on a rainy day. He came over and was prompt and saved the day. $1800. Expensive but it was emergency and he did it in the rain. Very respectable. Fast forward to today... I had to hire someone else in palmdale that my warranty company told me to hire to get my roof partially covered. This is where i have a problem. My issue with Roberto is he doesn't have any integrity. As a background, I bought a home from a house flipper that painted an old roof with fresh black paint. This literally tricked everyone including home and roof inspector. However, when I asked him to make a comment that the roof was painted so I can bring this issue up with the inspection company, he said "no i dont want to get involved if you are not paying me to redo the roof. They will ask me questions. Not worth it." A CA licensed roofer should always protect the public. I paid him handsomely $1800 to put three tarps down and so I am also his customer. He should just state the truth and not coward out. Yet money makes all his decisions. And fear. I have text message exchanges with him to reveal all this and will report all of this to CSLB because he is the type of licensed roofer that CSLB does not want, those that only care about money and not about the public. Btw, his quote for my roof was 23k for 30 squares, significantly higher than the one that I hired. He then says he would match any roofer. Go figure. read more

Delcid Roofing replaced the roof(s) on our home and we couldn't be happier! This included the main house, patio, separate side shed, detached garage and carport. There was a lot of work with plenty of details, but everything turned out beautifully. Delcid Just completed our new roof. Roberto and his crew were responsible professional and reliable. All the work is professionally done. It was quick and the tear down was completed in one day. Once the material was received the work was done in two days including the clean up & adding two vents. Last minute I added in additional facia trim on the longest side of my home even though work had already begun past that stage not only was Roberto able to accommodate it he got it done the same day. I work from home so noise is a big factor But I explained that to Roberto and he was able to accommodate my needs by working on the weekend and by making adjustments to complete the job. I got estimates from 5 contractors for a shingle roof replacement with 5 new flat vents. I checked Angie's List and Yelp for customer reviews. I checked with neighbors who I knew had roofs replaced in recent years. Roberto (owner) came out and met with me twice. His proposal wasn't the cheapest but it wasn't far off. I spoke with all of the contractors who gave me proposals and had the best feeling of "hands on" involvement and his likelihood of doing what he said he would do, for the prices stated and in the time frame promised. It had been raining a lot and we discussed how that might effect the work. The job was done a little early. The cost was as discussed. The work looks great and I have solid confidence that we have a roof we can go to sleep under and not miss a wink. It has already rained once since...hard...not a single problem. I have complete confidence that, if there was a problem, Roberto would jump on it to fix whatever it was. While they worked, over a 3-day period, the whole crew worked in an organized way and kept our property clean as they went. I just had our entire roof replace with new tiles. I was referred to Roberto from my friend. I'm so glad I went with him. The price is very reasonable and he would come to your house to give you samples and would work with you on whats best for your house. Not only is he very professional and polite. He's whole crew are made of very hard working diligent workers. They even laid down tarp underneath their trucks while parked on our driveway, so it wouldn't leak any oil on our driveway. Out of 6 or 7 estimates, Roberto came in cheapest. He also has all the credentials that I was looking for in a contractor; licenses, worker's compensation, insurance, clean record, AND references from previous clients. In regards to my roof, Roberto was the only 1 (out of 2) contractors that gave me a warning that I might need the asphalt-roll for my roof because the pitch isn't high enough. The other contractor's did not mention it to me at all, and they were only trying to pitch shingles. I appreciated his openness and expertise because I feel like a lot of contractors would not tell you that information until the contract was signed, and then add a change at a later time for more money. As for the work, Roberto and his crew were very fast, clean, and proficient. He started work on my house and garage on Thursday morning and he was done by Saturday evening. I needed a new roof. My dad had a new roof installed a couple years ago, after reaching out to a neighbor whose roof he admired. Both were installed by Declid Roofing, so I gave them a call. I was also planning on installing a whole house fan and solar panels. Roberto listened to my needs and recommended some great vents to accomodate the whole house fan installation and venting requirements. He took care of the permitting required for solar panel installation. The installation was completed in days. I am extremely pleased with not only the quality of work done, but the speed, efficiency and level of communication to ensure a proper job. There were some surprises, such as no plywood in certain areas and rotted out T&G. Roberto's team made sure to communicate those issues and provide options to properly address them, which they did. I called to get a quote for our HOA, a 6 unit complex. I was told that there would be a charge of $250 to give us a quote. I asked why they charge for that since most roofers do not charge. The guys just said "I have to charge for my time." He said that he doesn't charge to quote personal residences, but he charges HOAs. We will not be working with him. We decided to replace our 29 year-old roof this year, as El Nino is supposed to bring us much needed rain this year. We received some quotes, and although Delcid was not the least expensive, they were the most competent of the contractors we spoke to. Apparently roofing requirements have changed THIS YEAR for those of us that live in the Los Angeles area, and he was up on this. No mention of this by other contractors. Los Angeles residents are required to go with lighter colors for their roofs and there are only a small handful of light colors in which to select the tiles. Roberto and his team were fast and efficient. They removed the tiles the first day. They cleaned everything up before they left. They were completely finished with the roof (and sunroom roof - removing and replacing grout) by the second day. They also replaced any/all wood that had evidence of wood-rot. They were quick, efficient, clean and the results are beautiful. Before spending your hard-earned money on a roof, I recommend you contact Delcid Roofing for a quote. The 20 year shingles on my single story home in Van Nuys (about 2100 sq' with 2 car garage) were so worn that I was concerned about potential leakage so I gathered quotes from several roofers listed as "A" on Angie's list. Although Delcid is located only a few miles from my home, they were not in the first page of my search. All the quotes were exceptionally high and some were telling me I would need to rent a crane to lift my roof A/C condenser and others said I would need to strip the first roof layer. My neighbor suggested Delcid since they did his roof and the home behind him (which is how he discovered them). They quoted me (30-year Timberline dimensional shingles) the very next day, were significantly less expensive, did not try to upsell me, and started the day after I signed the quote. They brought out a large crew and did extensive preparation to smooth out the first roofing level. They then finished the entire job by the next day. The roof looks great and you can't tell that we have a second layer unless you look closely. No leaks, no bubbles, no issues. I do not write reviews often, but I am thrilled and will definitely recommend Delcid to my other neighbors. We just had our Santa Monica house and the guest house roof replaced by Roberto Delcid and his team. They were very efficient and organized, cleaned up well as they went along and we are very happy we went with them. They were not the cheapest quote, about in the 75% range of the prices we got, but they felt the most competent and experienced to us. They also came back and replaced the rotten roof timbers in the eves, once the house roof was finished. We would thoroughly recommend them. The one thing we forgot to ask them to do was to cover our things in the attic with plastic. That would have saved some clean-up. But otherwise they were excellent. Some wood needed to be replaced from water damage that I knew before hand but he never tried to find ways to charge me more. Just had my 2650 sq feet home roof and 400 sq feet patio roof replaced by Delcid Roofing on 9/2016 and Delcid Roofing did a fantastic job. I would use Delcid Roofing again and again without a doubt. They are insured, bonded, and very experienced at roofing and more. They gave me the lowest price on the home roof that was even lower than Lowes which was already very very reasonable. I told my wife to get a couple more quotes while intending to go with Lowes because I felt more comfortable with the big store. She used the ads in the Vietnamese magazine cause we usually get the best deal there. She found Delcid Roofing in the Vietnamese magazine but Delcid Roofing (Roberto) couldn't speak a lick of Vietnamese which was fine by me cause he spoke excellent English. He was willing to come by the next morning (Thursday) to give me a quote unlike other company. He was completely honest and he doesn't play game unlike two other stupid company which had quoted some sky high price then cut corner on materials or add homeowner advertisement scam as mean of reducing $2000 from their highway robbery price. Delcid Roofing (aka Roberto) can answer your roofing question and give a quote right on the spot cause he does the work and he owns it. His word was good as gold but I had him list every details down including the works involved, material, and payment schedule. I had forgotten about writing down the waranteed details in the quote until the job was completed but he added it in exactly as promised. My wife also got a quote from a Vietnamese roof contractor from the day before that boasted to be the lowest price around for both the home roof and the patio roof. Because Roberto price was still better and along with his pleasant personality, honesty, punctuality, and expertise, I signed right on the spot without any contemplation. Trust me on this cause my first roofing quote started like 13 years ago or so. He was extremely honest in letting me know that his team was available and can start work right away on Monday which they did. The company is ran by Roberto and his brothers and they do their own work. They stripped down my +20 years leaky old roof and did everything by the book including permit. They completed it in 3 1/2 days working from 7:00A.M. to 5:00P.M. or even much later as promised in 4 days. This included tear down of 1 layer plus old roof (half has both composite and wood shake), install all new OSB solar sheathing as required by Ventura county, 30 lbs felt paper per my choice, new flashing, 2 vents, 80 linear feet of 2x6 facia board, and 1 dual glass panel skylight per my choice (although it took a $100 away from his bottom line). As for my old patio, it was just a giant nightmare cause it was too flat with rotted through plywood, and I really wanted to just get rid of the patio all together. He fixed my ugly nightmare by tearing off all patio plywood, replacing the three 4x4 supporting posts that needed replacing, replacing 2 outer dry rotted 2x6 patio rafter boards, and replacing the two 16 feet dry rotted & termite infested 6x4 header that needed replacing as well. Not only that, he fixed my original patio roof problem of being too flat that had created the original dry rot and food for termite infestation by lowering the three outer 4x4 support posts by 2 inch. He also trimmed 16 inch of bad wood from each of the ten 2x6 patio rafter board prior to replacing all patio facia boards (56 linear feet). Roberto and his brothers also helped me out greatly by fixing one more very very important part of the house that had severe dry rot and was eaten by termite. It was not in the original roofing quote but he did it anyway cause I had asked him to help me out. This additional major repair was extremely and reasonably priced and we just shake hands to agree on the work. They proceeded and completed that additional repair job beautifully that same morning. Let just say that I can now sleep peacefully knowing that both my home and patio roofs are now very strong and they won't leak for a very long time. I can't thank Delcid Roofing (Roberto and brothers) enough. By the way, I watched them work everyday from Monday through Thursday and I even took all of Tuesday off from work mainly because of that additional major repair and the patio repair. Roberto used 5/8 CDX plywood, fiberglass felt, color matched torched down shingle roll and that is his specialty. I even spoke with the city roof inspector on Thursday and he also gave Delcid Roofing high mark. They do excellent work and it shows in their workmanship. They are very punctual, have excellent work ethics, and clean as they go at the end of each day. Everything that I wrote here is based from my observation and first hand experience of their work performed for my home. No money or discount was given for my write up of Delcid Roofing.
