Stunning ocean view from a comfortable dining area.
    Jude B.

[[HIGHLIGHT]]This is an exciting find with oceanfront dining in Palm Coast. The view is wonderful, tucked in the Hammock Dunes area, and is open to the public.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Watch out for all the golf carts zipping around. [[HIGHLIGHT]]The Atlantic Grille Restaurant has an absolutely beautiful view of the ocean and the golf course. Reminds me of Pebble Beach in California, & for soup and a sandwich you pay the price too.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] [[HIGHLIGHT]]I enjoyed a late lunch in the more quiet environment.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] The crab soup starter was small and creamy-tasty. Entree of a Crab cake sandwich on toasted brioche, slivered fennel root, aïoli, with side of sweet potato fries. It was good and crab was plentiful. Pleasant young staff, our servicer suggested the crab. I found the crab cake gets over-shadowed by a bun. Friends had the Reuben & sangria and liked it too. [[HIGHLIGHT]]Was a nice treat to have an elevated oceanside dining experience here.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] We strolled on the beach after and chatted with several friendly staffers. I'll go back to this hammock property for a condo rental in the future.

Ordered the She crab soup came out almost warm. Ordered the broiler oysters for the price I was expecting at least 6 but it was only 4. Also ordered the bang bang shrimp. Very tasty. Service could have been better. We got our shrimp and soup first before we even go the drinks. Had to ask another server to get our waitress because they he drinks were empty. Also when she was cut to go home she came by twice to see how we were and the third time she came by she asked if she could grab the receipt. [[HIGHLIGHT]]View was amazing. I would go back only for the views.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]]

I thought higher of this place than most. 1) you can't beat the view 2) our server was really great and 3) the food I ordered was flavorful to the max. A little pricy but I think it's because it's attached to a club on the beach which tracks.

My first visit to the restaurant. It was date night and went with friends. (Always eat in good company!) The restaurant is a part of the Hammock Beach and Golf Resort and is open to the public. I highly recommend making a reservation for big parties and if you would like a table with a view. [[HIGHLIGHT]]We walked in and had the option to either sit at the bar or go outside and stay behind the roped off area.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] The food, service, and drinks were good. I had the shrimp and grits and it was creamy and flavorful! Will be back to try more!

We couldn't decide which place on-site we wanted to go to for dinner so my daughter made reservations on Open Table at Atlantic Grille. I recommend making reservations to make sure they can accommodate you, especially if a large party. We were a bit early and thought we'd have to wait but they went out of their way to make room for us. The service the entire night by everyone was over the top! We started with 3 appetizers which were all A-mazing! Bang Bang Shrimp, Conch Fritters and Green Chickpea Hummus. Dinner was equally great and was pricey. My son in laws' comment was "order what you want, we are not here for a bargain!" So, we did and everyone was extremely satisfied with the taste, portions and presentation. Great food! Loved it and it made for a truly enjoyable evening at Hammock Beach!

Get the sweet potato fries and the blueberry marg.

Looking for a fresh seafood restaurant with wild-caught shrimp and raw oysters near the beach?…read more Surprisingly, not this place. The name 'Turtle Shack' does not carry any significance. We did have clam chowder minus the clams and bits of potato normally found in most every clam chowder. It was essentially a milky broth. The fish sandwich was good. Our choice of Mahi was a nice-sized portion-control piece that had no doubt been purchased and delivered frozen, but to be fair was cooked to our liking. And it came with a large serving of crisp tasty fresh fries. The french dip sandwich was also pretty good. Plenty of shaved meat and a nice pineapple slaw side was more than enough to satisfy us. No complaints unless you thought clam chowder actually oughta have clam and potato in it, or if you were planning to enjoy fresh FL seafood at the 'Turtle Shack'. Instead, enjoy the burgers and the wings and the portion-control fish sandwich and the french dip and ignore the mis-leading name out front.

My friend Angela suggested we try Palm Harbor Grill, where she's had good experiences in the past. The restaurant is located in a strip mall alongside other spots and appears to have been recently renovated. Inside was clean, organized, and nicely decorated. Our waiter, George, was friendly, down-to-earth, and very accommodating. He also spoke Portuguese, which made it easy for Angela to communicate. The menu was just okay. While it offered traditional Portuguese dishes, it also included Italian options, which felt a little out of place for a restaurant presenting itself as Portuguese cuisine. We started with the octopus in garlic sauce 5/5. It was incredibly tender and packed with flavor. Easily the highlight of the meal. The shrimp in garlic sauce, served with Portuguese chips and white rice, was a bit of a letdown 2/5. There was very little sauce for the shrimp to soak up, and the flavor just didn't hit the mark. The biggest disappointment was the grilled Portuguese sausage 0/5. It was fatty, cold when served, and honestly inedible. George tried three times to warm it up for us. What made it more frustrating was watching other tables receive theirs flambéed tableside. Ours came out pre-cut and at what felt like refrigerated temperature. When we asked why ours wasn't served the same way, we were told that presentation style costs an additional $6. Really? I had the sangria, which was enjoyable though slightly on the sweeter side 3.5/5. Overall, I truly wish this experience had been better, especially considering the drive to Palm Coast from Jacksonville. I was hoping for a taste of home, but unfortunately, it fell short this time.

Eclectic place with pretty good food…read more Mrs and I enjoyed dinner there recently. We shared the escargot and it was delicious. Mrs liked the lobster ravioli and I had a decent steak

**Where do I even begin?**…read more We were visiting from out of town and made a reservation based on the website, which looked like it promised a five-star dining experience with a side of class. Spoiler alert: the only thing five-star about this place was how fast we wanted to leave. The red flags started immediately. The "ambience" was giving post-hurricane garage sale. And then the owner--dressed like a retired Jersey Shore cast member with a sad top-knot ponytail clinging to its last follicle--yelled from across the bar, "Welcome to the best restaurant in the county!" That was the first of many lies. We were squeezed six people into a table for four, even though there were plenty of empty tables, which we assume were reserved for ghosts or maybe just the owner's ego. Alcohol selection? Oh, just the finest! We asked for the beer list and were told there were *two* options. When we inquired about wine, the sommelier (a.k.a. the same server who forgot napkins, silverware, and the will to live) said, and I quote, "Red or white." That's not a wine list--it's a personality test. We were handed four sticky, mismatched menus with half the items violently Sharpied out like they'd been caught cheating on a test. At this point, most people would've made a break for it, but not us! No, we stayed. Because we're the kind of people who touch the stove *twice* just to be sure it's hot. We ordered the ahi tuna, escargot, and baked brie. The tuna came out looking like four sad, paper-thin slices of regret. No seasoning. No garnish. Not even a pity drizzle of sauce. Just raw fish, alone on a plate, contemplating its life choices. It tasted like someone froze a fish stick in 1993 and just now remembered to serve it. The escargot? Imagine rubber bands soaked in lukewarm garlic water. Now imagine paying money for that. The baked brie? Honestly, I blacked out at that point so I can't even tell you. After this culinary fever dream, we signaled for the check. That's when the owner reappeared, pants unbuttoned (WHY?!), and said--and this is 100% real--"Did I pissed you off?" Sir, the only thing more offensive than your grammar is your restaurant. We smiled, nodded, and lied that we had somewhere else to be, mostly because we feared telling the truth would end in a full-blown Jersey brawl in the parking lot. Final verdict: Never going back. You shouldn't go either. Save yourself. Go eat a gas station hot dog. Trust me--it'll be better.
