Everything from start to finish was absolutely exceptional. Without question, this is the best Italian restaurant we've ever experienced. The carpaccio was incredible, and you could truly taste the freshness and quality in every dish. The pastas and gnocchi were clearly handmade and perfectly prepared. We ordered the gnocchi sorrentina, gnocchi salsiccia, tagliatelle ragu, and the fritto misto -- every single dish was outstanding. The service matched the food perfectly. Angelina was warm, personable, knowledgeable, attentive, and incredibly efficient throughout the evening. We enjoyed our experience so much that we actually canceled our reservation at another restaurant the following night just so we could return to Terra & Acqua a second time. Our only disappointment was not having the opportunity to meet the owner and executive chef, Simone Parisi, to personally compliment him and talk about Florence -- my birthplace as well. read more

Ambiance: There is both indoor and outdoor seating available, making this a good option for larger groups or families with kids. The interior wasn't my favorite; the aesthetic didn't really read as Italian to me and leaned more modern. The tables and seating felt a bit on the cheaper side. We went on a Friday around 7:30 pm, and it was surprisingly quiet inside. Drinks: I ordered a sangria, which wasn't my favorite. It tasted on the weaker side. Food: I ordered the gnocchi. It was a bit rubbery and not as soft or potato-forward as I prefer. It reminded me more of store-bought gnocchi than homemade. That said, the portion size felt fair for the price. Location: The restaurant is located on the St. Augustine Beach barrier island, which is convenient if you're staying nearby and don't want to head into historic downtown for dinner. It was in a slightly odd spot within a business complex, with condos located above. Service: Good. This restaurant has been open for about eleven years for dinner only in the southern part of St. Augustine. Two months ago they started opening for lunch. Today I attended a group lunch with a total of twelve people. The restaurant is spacious and has an upscale beachy feel to it. There was a set menu so our choices were a rigatoni pasta dish with grilled chicken, broccoli and tomatoes in a creamy sauce or salmon and salad. I opted for the rigatoni dish and it was tasty. The portion size was also nice. The salmon dish ordered by half of the other members of my group also looked good and most people seemed to like it. A unique dining experience to try out on this Italian restaurant. It's best to book reservation ahead. Waited a little over 25 minutes after the booking time for table sitting. The ambience was active and a bit loud due to being Christmas Eve. The meal was excellent! I had the house special consisting of lasagna baked with clams meats and lobster bisque sauce. Wonderful flavors! Finally, ended with an espresso to top off the evening. Food was fine. It was the rushing that spoiled our experience. Appetizers arrived and were delicious. But 5 minutes after they served our entree was delivered. We said something and the server took it back only to have it come out 5 minutes later. We asked if we could finish our appetizers. It was taken back again. Finally it arrives when we were ready. It's a lovely looking place; clean and nicely decorated. But it seems like it is trying to pass for fine dining which it is not. Service was great- the server was attentive and quick (did make a mistake by bringing spoiled milk to our daughter...). The food, however, was not great. Salmon was undercooked. The pappardelle sauce was weird and sweet which is not exactly what I look for in a tomato sauce. The bolognese tasted like bland hamburger helper. The gnocchi was the best tasting thing we had but was not cooked correctly and basically was mush in the sauce. Needless to say we weren't pleased with the price of the bill considering the quality of the food. read more

It has been quite a while since I have eaten here. We had a group of 8 and everyone enjoyed their meals. We took no pictures but as always, the bread was so delicious. I ordered the octopus appetizer as my meal and thought it was excellent. Octopus was tender and the accompanying vegetables were terrific. Diego was our server and he gets a 5 star mention for service and for keeping checks straight despite where we sat. They do take reservations which is great, especially with a large group. read more

Birthday dinner was really disappointing. Food was average, beef tip special was dry, gnocchi was a little mushy. Bill was almost 200 dollars for 5 people, the service and food should be worth that price. The server was sent home and he didn't check on us much at all to refill our drinks or ask if we needed anything. So we tipped a server who wasn't even there when we finished our meals. Went last night with a huge group on a slow Wednesday night. Service was pretty slow and one person's entree order was totally forgotten and never acknowledged. I asked the waiter if the large Caesar salad would be appropriate as an entree. He commented yes and said it's huge and delicious. Somehow my salad took longer than all the hot entrees to arrive. When it did, it was disappointingly small. Worse, it had NOTHING to do with a Caesar salad! It was a bunch of wilted lettuce with a hard boiled egg on top and some cheese sprinkled on it. A family member complained about the same. I left hungry and had to eat something at home. We spent an enormous amount of money there so I am disappointed. Many items were overpriced as well. Reason for 2 and not 1 stars is that some people truly enjoyed their food. read more

Decided to spend our Birthday Dinner for my 18 yr old twin boys here last night.... What a mistake ! If there was a 0 stars, I would hit that button. I am sorry this place is as bad as it is! Here's a few issues: 1) My wife asked for a sweet white wine, the waiter suggested the white Sangria, came back with a red Sangria and said, " I think you'll like this one better! " 2) Ordered the Bruschetta, was hard as a rock, so hard one twin broke a part of his braces! Waiter didn't even say I am sorry, nothing said or done. 3) 3 of us got the special " Teres Major Steak tips", this cut we make at home often, it's prepared just like a Filet, and as tender as a Filet. The dish here was so dry, it was pretty much un-eatable. We actually didn't eat much, just took it home for our DOG! 4) The " Biggie"... Here's the best part, the waiter never showed back up, the Chef, yes the Chef ! brought us and others their food! The waiter never came over ~ The waiter ditched us and at the end of the meal, the Bartender came by and asked us if we were done. Said the Waither started his shift early and left! omg There really was not one thing at all positive to say, all the chairs everywhere were all mismatched, some other tables were complaining and one of the twins actually saw a table spitting out thier food! I wish and should have asked for a manager to get our bill reduced but was so pissed, I just wanted to leave. Made reservations in advance for New Years Eve. We were never told there would be a different menu. The prices were almost double. The food was sub par. 3 in our party ordered the rib eyes. They were thin, and overcooked. The appys were microscopic. An to tip of 20% was also included. 2 appetizers, 5 entrees, 1 kids meal and one appy as a meal, a few drinks and we were in for 900.00. We made a reservation for 7:30 on Friday and decided to sit inside. We really liked the decor & overall vibe of the place. Danielle was our server and she was wonderful & very attentive. We started with the fritto misto and it was outstanding! In addition to the calamari it also included shrimp, asparagus, artichokes, zucchini, and sweet potatoes. I am not normally a fan of aioli but theirs was fabulous - spicy roasted red pepper. This appetizer paired well with the Gavi I selected. We also tried the foccia and it was super. For our salads hubs chose the ceaser salad and it looked amazing. They included little cherry tomatoes, anchovies, shaved parm, and a small side of bread. He said the dressing was tasty. I chose the pear salad which had walnuts, gargonzola, pears and a balsamic drizzle. It was very good. For dinner hubs chose the Tagliatelle Ragu and was very pleased with the taste. Portion size was generous. I chose the handmade Pappardelle Ragu which was made with fresh grouper. The sauce was cherry tomato with blood orange juice. It wa so delicious & also a generous portion. This was our 4th time here and it looks like it will be our last. The bar tender was also our server and he did a great job - attentive and prompt with all of our requests. However, the quality of the food was (and has been each time we've visited) lack luster, especially for the price. Bruschetta flavors were flat, stale croutons on the Caesar salad, undercooked ravioli and underwhelming prosciutto and mushroom pizza. We live within walking distance and have been rooting for this spot but unfortunately it continues to disappoint again and again. read more
