Bought some prosciutto Italiano ~$9.00 and a day or two later had some and it tasted salty, dry and did not appear fresh. I stopped in a few days later with the product to explain. The lady (assume manager) said I should have called when it happened and since it had been 4-5 days later, she couldn't do anything for me. I'm a frequent shopper there and satisfied until now; Not what I expected; I was disappointed and upset by the response and wanted to let them know they lost a repeated, loyal customer. My review is for the Polish food items from their hot bar. The stuffed cabbage rolls (Golumpki) are great as are the Pork and Chicken Schnitzels. The Pierogis are made in the store and if you're lucky they will be making them right in front of you at their pierogi station. The huge deli is packed full of meats and sausages and a bread loaf that the lady behind the counter called Polish pizza. I'l be back very soon bc this is just too good to pass up. read more

In October we celebrated our daughters wedding and ordered chatka and sweets table from the Prospect Heights location. Everything was delicious with a beautiful presentation. The sweets table was a huge hit; it was gone so fast as guests eagerly filled their plates. Mrs. Dorota was incredibly helpful thinking through every detail, so I didn't have to worry about a thing. So attended a long awaited Family Gathering!!! My Sister in law decided to purchase all the meals from Deli 4 You. Not had the pleasure, but have had there Steak Tartare with the regular (Polish) fixings. Must say, the food was very home made with the reminiscent of my families tradition. We enjoyed all the variations of choices and saved us time prepping, but we're able to enjoy our get together. Every time I go shopping at this location I end up buying something that's expired. Expired yogurts, cheese, kids chocolate bars, you name it. Call to find out if Deli 4 You has gift certificates. The person on the phone said no they did not. I asked again "you don't have gift certificates?". No we have gift cards is the response. I drive over to the store on Harlem. I found it some really good looking tomatoes and took those to the register. Asked the clerk for a $25 gift card in addition to the tomatoes She checks out the tomatoes says nothing about the gift card. I question this. After a minute she looks at me and says we don't have No no no I tell her that I had called and was told I could get a gift card at the register. Asked for a manager. The manager walks up and starts speaking Polish. I tell her I need a $25 gift card. She walks away. After about 2 minutes I look at the clerk and if it is the manager coming back? Yes is the answer. Good food but Horrible (racist) Service/Non-Service: I had been shopping at this store about a year. My family likes their salad and pierogi, however, one particular female employee at the deli (usually bakery or salad departments) is very racist. I first thought that she doesn't speak English because when I asked her for help saying "excuse me" she completely ignored me. She then skipped me and served a different customer who came after I had said "excuse me" and served her instead using English (that customer was White and I am Asian). The next couple times she also exhibited similar racist behaviors, ignoring me when I needed and asked for service but was quick to serve other White customers (this employee typically wears her store cap backward and has a bunch of badges on the cap). I ended having to wait around for a different server in the bakery/salad area to serve me. I called the manager and complained about this situation. I see some other reviews from people that experienced bad customer service there. The employee needs to provide equal service to their customers even the customers are not white and Polish. This is the U.S. and the racism is against the law. The employee needs to educate herself. I realized that I don't need to spend any money at this kind of store even though my husband, who is of Polish descent, really likes their food. read more

I went to Deli 4 You to buy some homemade pierogi cause this particular item they had is really the best. They have a parking lot were I can parked my cark and I did not have to look for an available street parking. The store is clean and a bit hefty and there is a huge selection of different goodies. However, some other shoppers are not wearing masks and some are even wearing theirs below their noses and it looks like the staffs are good with it. I just proceed on doing my thing and put a lot of homemade pierogi on my cart. I also looked for other goods and what shocked me is that there is a mold in one of the sausages. I immediately checked if the pierogi has molds in it but luckily there is nothing. I then decided to proceed on the cashier to checkout and I only bought the homemade pierogi. The store is nice but I think they must check the foods they are selling if it is still good or not. read more

We bought a birthday cake for a birthday.Mold appeared on it the following day. The meat we bought also has showing mold on it. We took the cake to Wisconsin since the party was there. We brought this to the attention of the owner and she said if we bring it back it's a 3 1/2 hour drive each way to the store she will reimburse us.Bring back the food with the receipt. That's a joke nobody's going to drive 3 1/2 hours each way just to bring the moldy food back to her. We have been regular customers at the store but after this incident we will not be going back again. Would not recommend the store to anybody. read more

Happiness is homemade pierogi! If you're anything like I am in the kitchen (disaster) then you understand the value in having a local spot for incredible authentic homemade polish food. They have it all here, and they offer 20% off on Wednesdays! I've tried almost all their soups and love their mushroom, split pea and potato the most! I can usually only find one type of fresh pierogi when I go after work, so far blueberry and sweet cheese are my tops. They're warm in the container, so you know they are fresh. They also have a wide variety of other international (euro) food and great selection of fresh fruit. The freshness hits you like a ton of bricks when you walk in. I ordered 2 of these trays and 2 trays of toothpick appetizers (forgot to grab a picture of the toothpick appetizers before they were all eaten!) and they were very very good! My guests loved them and kept asking me were I ordered from. If you look through their Facebook pages at pictures, the food you order looks like it is shown. Perfect size, fresh and tasty, nice to look at. I first stopped in and spoke with Lucy who showed me pictures and gave me an idea on pricing. She then provided me Marzena's name and number. Marzena makes the trays. I took care of everything over the phone. She was fast, courteous and knowledgeable. Everything was completed as promised and nothing disappointed. Very nice Deli, one of my fav's, if I go to a POLISH market I am looking for POLISH food, not American. They have a much larger selection than another Polish store near by, never got anything old in that store always fresh and juicy and the prices are lower as well. The meats are truly smoked, NOT smoke flavour Added, or caramel colour and such, these are really smoked meats and you won't find any "Cheese Food" products either, it is REAL cheese. There are no nitrates and preservatives in these cold cuts, so you can't leave them in the refrigerator for a week and expect them to be fresh. They are very natural, so you have to eat them while they are fresh. Also never ever wrap the Polish sausage links in plastic, they will mold. It is smoked, not processed, if you won't eat it right away leave it without any wrapper. It will dry a little, but it will still be good and delicious. If you are used to the processed stuff, that doesn't spoil, you might as well shop in Jewel, or Dominick's. If I want avocado's for my Keto diet, or some affordable vegetables, I go to Trader Joe's or Aldi. Aldi is owned by trader joe's and they have good quality produce. If I want fresh, juicy baleron, or poledwiczka, if I want real seler- the root, for my surowka, or rurki z kremem- :D I go to my Polish market. We also use different spices for cooking, which we often can not find in regular stores. You go to an Italian Deli for authentic Italian food, you go to a Spanish bakery for Spanish pastries, or to a Chinese market for dimsum. Why? Because yes, we the people love America, it is our home, but we do miss the foods and sweets that maybe we grew up with, or maybe what grandma made for us when we were little, what did you expect you would find in a POLISH deli? :D I am sorry for the people complaining about the girls not speaking English, this is a POLISH market, for people who miss the foods they grew up with, they expect Polish people to shop there, we go there for things we are used to cooking with, which Jewel does not carry, or charges a fortune for. Every nation has one, Little Italy, ChinaTown, Portuguese stores, Brazillian. If you go to a small Mom & Pop store, or a restaurant of Ethnic Origin, that is what you will find. Ask for help. Nearly every person working here was wearing their masks improperly...most with their noses exposed, and MANY with both noses and mouths exposed. Even when handling food and speaking/interacting with the customers. The customers also refused to wear their masks, or had them down under their chins---but that is something the establishment should be enforcing. Not likely, given their refusal to adhere to the most basic health/safety rules and COVID concerns. I said something to my husband and was overheard by one of the girls at the counter, who quickly fixed her mask, only to immediately pull it off her face again once I looked away. I've had at 7.30pm and waiting 30 min then buy nothing because Laidy start cleanings 7.45 and distribute other so I waiting longer at 8pm I can't buy nothing because all fresh products was taken away . It seems like an OK deli. Good produce, and a wide selection of meats. Almost no English behind the Deli counter, however, makes for a clumsy ordering process on a Sunday afternoon. Also, they apparently have a minimum order for their meats on the top shelf. Negotiating this, while them switching people around so someone speaks English, took what could be the joy out of visiting this deli. Meat is OK - good for what it is. It looked like a good, lean ham, similar to what I've seen at other delis. With the limited English, I got a good (not great) ham, which is still somewhat greasy and very salty - the similar style I'm thinking of is more smokey, a little less greasy, and a little less salty. Next visit will be when it's not busy! Know what you want, or wait for a quiet time to come here. read more

We visited the newly opened Algonquin store. Excellent, tasty Polish sausage and pre made dishes. The homemade pierogi are simply incredible and love, love, love the boneless rolled ham. However, there is absolutely no social distancing between the customers. They stand right on top of you and hang on to the glass cases over the deli. Most wear their mask under their noses.
