We live right around the corner, so we end up here every couple of weeks. We want to like this place. Unfortunately, something is almost always wrong. The soda machine is frequently out or not working at all. Last summer the AC did not work, which made eating inside miserable. There are zero high chairs, which makes it tough for families, especially since this is a casual neighborhood spot. The ceiling fans are visibly filthy, which does not exactly inspire confidence while you are eating. None of these issues are one time flukes. They keep happening. At some point it stops feeling unlucky and starts feeling neglected. It is disappointing because the location is convenient, the staff is nice, and the food is decent. But consistency matters. We will probably have to start making other choices. read more

I've been coming to this Deli for about the past year because we moved back to the neighborhood and it has been a pleasant experience every-time. I actually got to get my mother home from the hospital because she didn't want to eat but I got her a sub here and they were able to release her to me. This time I got in a jam paying with Apple Cash but they were so patient with me and still gave me fresh food. I am extremely grateful for this staff and management. Small ham and Swiss on white. That's what was for lunch. The bread was flavorful and toasted just right. Savory ham and Swiss cheese. Just the right amount of mayo, mustard and vinegar & oil. Lettuce, tomato and a slice of pickle...that's it for me. I went in for the hot roast beef but they were out of roast beef that day. The ham sandwich I then chose hit the spot just fine. This is my go to Deli Delicious. As far a the sandwiches go, I have no complaints! The service though at this particular location is stellar. The woman at the register is always extremely nice, welcoming, and never gets my order wrong. I honestly starting coming to this location despite it being further than the one on Champlain to me because the service at the Champlain one is just ridiculously slow and they always mess my order up in some way. Great laid back place! Noticed they had new veggie options. Wanted to try something different. Ordered the black bean wrap no mayo or mustard and added chicken. Also pepper jack cheese. We've recently been ordering from this Deli D through Door Dash and they have been absolutely killing it every time! We typically order in the evening or weekends so our orders come fairly quick and the fries are still hot!!! I also ordered this week during lunch time and was thinking it would be a long wait, but it wasn't that bad and best of all the fries were still hot! My orders have consistently been accurate too, which is appreciated since we make a lot of modifications to our sandwiches and ask for no seasoning on the fries. This spot it pretty good. Expensive, though, and they don't have a "buy so many, get one free" type of stamp card or frequent visit something. I would eat here more often if they did. Sandwiches are huge, the large can feed 2-3 people. My wife gets the small and is usually struggling to finish the last few bites. I get the medium and eat half, save half. Also, there's lots of bread, huge amounts of bread and they don't dig it out much/at all so your fillings kinda squish out which is annoying. My family loves Deli Delicious; however, we'd never been to the First and Herndon location. I ordered a "bowl" of Chicken Tortilla soup. I received the "cup". My mom ordered the full chef's salad, which includes tomato's, prickles, cucumbers, cheese, etc. It only had lettuce and meat. I paid full price for all of this. I've been trying to get a refund for my soup and mom's salad for over 3 weeks. I keep getting emails from customer service asking for store location, copy of receipt, etc. I have provided all info requested. No response. If I were the owners, I'd like to know how my staff was doing. And yes, we're very grateful for the people who are out there working for a living. I just want to get what I paid for. This was the first time coming to this location. It was pretty spacious and nicely decorated. Our Sammie's were good too though not as on the ample side as our regular location but the taste and freshness was there and that's important. I only have 2 gripes about this location. One. The cashier had a ponytail but was only partially wearing his hair net. So the tail part was sticking out. He should have stuck that part in the hairnet as well. I don't know I get kind of picky when it comes to body hair and food. The other thing was that we were trying to have a conversation and another worker came and started sweeping and moving chairs all around us. My issue was that she was dragging the chairs on the ground. Those chairs are a bit heavy I know, but they make such an awful sound when you drag them. Over and over again. read more

I ordered through the online system at 6:15pm on a Saturday.. According to them, they are open until 8.. Nope.. It took my order, took my money and they were closed.. Who does that? That's shady as it gets. Now it's Sunday and they're "closed".. None of the other stores are closed.. Just this one.. I don't go very often but the workers I've encountered barely do their job. Sad.. After accidentally placing an online order after hours the the system auto-approved, I called the next business day to request a refund. I'm told that the managers are out and employees cannot issue refunds. They tell me to keep calling back to try and reach a manager. When I finally happen to call on a day the manager is there, he can't even be bothered to talk to me and handle the refund right then on the phone--he has the employee give me his cell number and to text him screenshots of the digital receipt and he'll refund later. I typically enjoy my food at this deli D location. My one complaint, and reason for 3 stars, is because they rarely answer the phone for to-go orders. I call repeatedly and no one answers. Today, I called and later found out that the manager was talking on the phone. Not sure why they would think it's not important to answer the phone during the pandemic when you can only get orders to go. They also don't do orders online. It's very frustrating. read more

I used to work here so I know how the food is supposed to taste. Since they got new owners, the food is not fresh. You can really tell. They don't change the oil in the fryer. The fries made me sick, their deli meat is slimy. You can also tell they are allowing the bread to get stale. Don't come here. today I have to give Deli Delicious one star. I am a frequent visitor to deli delicious however tonight at 7:38 PM I called to place an order. They usually close at 8 PM and I live two minutes away. When I called I was told they don't take any phone orders after 730 pm I stated OK I'll be there in about two minutes to pick up a sandwich. Young lady that answered the phone stated that the door is locked because they lock the door at 7:40 pm. I stated I thought you closed at eight and she replied yes we do but we have to be out by eight. I asked for the manager I was told she will be there tomorrow from 9 to 2.
