Really disappointed with the service here and way too overpriced, I ordered 4 tacos for 18$ (NO DRINK) it's cash only and you get no receipt. I personally feel like they change the prices and meat had way too much fat and no good taste. Staff here looked really drunk or hungover (either or). Very unorganized. I've been wanting to come here for a while to try their Acapulco style hot dogs. But they seem to open up their business as they please. I tried coming once and everything was closed. I called them a few hours later to see if they were still open, and they answered. When I had asked them why didn't open up earlier she stated she had some errands to run. So I gave them another try a few weeks later and this time they were open. It's a whole in the wall place that offers a lot of Mexican favorites like tacos and such, but I had my eye on only one thing on their menu, their Acapulco Style Hot Dogs. A bacon wrapped hot dog, covered with ketchup, mayonnaise, mustard, grilled onions, and peppers. The hot dog itself was very delicious and reminded me of the street Los Angeles Danger Dog that I would eat after games at the Coliseum. My favorite place to get tacos de pastor con pina (Al pastor tacos with pineapple) the meat is consistent and always perfectly seasoned. They also have spicy pickled red onions that I add to them that are amaaaazing! Definitely also would recommend the Mexican style hot dogs. The owner is super sweet! read more

I am a huge fan of pozole, I came in today trying the Red Pork Pozole . Presentation was great, I had a great side plate with anything you'd ever crave for pozole toppings, so I was greatly excited to try. My plate was filled to the top however I had little to no pork in my plate. Mind that it was a great portion for 10.99. Rather than complaining I wanted to enjoy what I had. We also ordered cheese fries and the cheese literally came out of the microwave and was not good. So instead we ate the decent fries with ketchup. My partner ordered sopes and they were 8.99 on the menu for 3. Presentation was good and he didn't complain. However when it was time to pay them the bill was 38$ Awareness of tax and use of the menu my bill should have been 27.99!!!! I was charged 12.99 for the pozole 9.99 for the sopes !!! I respectfully spoke with the person in charge and she did not handle the situation correctly and had no words when I pulled up the menu and showed her the prices ... she also said she had ran out of pork but at no point did she ask if I would like a substitute. Would u just serve a dish and expect the customer not to notice ?? I am greatly dissatisfied and I share this with u today because some people do not know how to manage a restaurant. If u do come and have a great experience please tip the server and bussers the girls we younger than 12 years old working the front of the house. mmm antojitos Won't event try to translate that word. I had passed this place a few times and always wondered how good it was. Yesterday I was driving by and decided to stop and eat here. The place is .... mm typical. They used to sell hot dogs on the corner of 26th and St Louis, I ate there a couple of times (usually to go, the hood wasn't as safe as it is now) the dogs used to be amazing and sometimes when street vendors get a place, sometimes the food loses the flavor. Not this one I had a bacon hot dog with all the fixings and it was great. I also had a mushroom quesadilla and that was off the roof good. They can be either grilled or deep fried, I opted for the grilled and was great decision. It comes with sour cream (which is so flavorful BTW), lettuce and avocado, simply delicious. My dinner companion had chicken flautas. They were good but not amazing. The service is super nice, attentive and helpful with the menu. Proof of that is that they also offer deep fried plantains with either sour cream and crumbled cheese, or sour cream and condensed milk. I wanted to try both but did not want to have two orders after all the food that we had already ordered. As I was debating the waitress said "tell you what we will make half with cheese and half with milk" that was cool of them. So I got to try both and they were different but good. I would suggest to have the one with cream and cheese as a side dish with the food because it is more on the savory side. The one with cream and condensed milk, totally a dessert, was really good. You get the sweetness form the plantain followed by the sour cream and then more sweet from the milk, weird but work perfectly. Love this place and since it is in walking distance from my house that makes it even better! Love the Hot dog con tocino with everything it is wonderful, it is wrapped in bacon (how can you go wrong with bacon) and grilled onions, pickled jalapeños, tomatoes, mayo, mustard, and . . . ketchup...yes I know that is not the Chicago way but in this case it is oh so good. I have heard wonderful things about the posole and I did not have any on this visit but I will be going back to try it. the woman that helped us was very talkative and nice...she made us feel comfortable and welcomed. read more

Came here with my hot dog partners in crime on a Sunday afternoon to try the bacon wrapped hot dogs. They were so amazing that 3 weeks later I'm still dreaming of them. Also served with mayo, ketchup, mustard, grilled onions, diced tomatoes, pickled jalapenos, and half of a roasted jalapeno. I love mayo but never considered it as a topping to hot dogs and was shocked by how well it went with everything. It brought a lot of creaminess to balance the spicy and salty toppings. Incredible. Also ordered an al pastor taco, which was just okay. It was served right off the spit but didn't have much flavor. The best part? The three of us each got a hot dog, an al pastor taco, and a Mexican Coke and our total was $15 for everything. It's a trek for me to get out here but I'll definitely be back. read more

Ok. High hopes=not met. I was really looking forward to this and after making the trip to my old hood, I stopped in to try their famed Acapulco hot dog. I ordered that and a few tacos to go. I would have ordered an Horchata but it was sitting in a bucket in the fridge. Blegh. Now to the hot dog. It was good but nothing more. To me, it was a bit mushy and the texture was not pleasant. Some days you wake up dreading where you need to go later in the day. Yesterday I had the unfortunate experience of having to go to an area called Little Village. I had never heard of this neighborhood, but I knew I had better wear my wallet with the chain on it for safety. While driving to my destination I saw Delicias Mexicanas and decided to stop in for some tacos and non alcoholic Rum Chata (they called it horrchatta or something goofy like that). After a quick glance at the menu I noticed they served hot dogs, Mexican style! I have seen these before while watching food network and knew I was in for a treat. The Mexicans know how to load up a hot dog with everything you need for a well rounded meal: hot dog wrapped in bacon and deep fried...topped with mayo and jalapeños and served with a side of spicy mayo. The hot dog was light and delicious. I figured two would fill me up, but I needed another two to go as they were so delicious. The art of servicing customers has been on the decline across the city as of late, so it was a welcome sign that they insisted on putting mayo on my dogs and giving me a generous portion to dip my fries in. Side note: the mayo was served room temperature which suggests that it was not a freshly made product. It still tasted good - I am not a snob. My only complaint was the music. I get it...this is a Mexican restaurant, but why do you have to blare Spanish hip hop? read more

This place specializes in Acapulco-style bacon -wrapped hot dogs. The owner, Blanca, used to have an extremely popular stand at 26th and St. Louis until she moved here. The hot dogs are excellent...order them with everything. They also have decent tacos al pastor (on the spit, with the pineapple.)
