Been with Delk Pest Control for a few years and so far I can't complain. Amazing service!

We have had Delk pest control for years. And the ONLY reason we have stayed is because of Yauncey. He is the one that comes to service the house EVERYONE else at the company is rude and unprofessional. I had to have my account marked that I only ever wanted Yauncey to service my house. I wish I remembered the other guys names that would come if Yauncey wasn't available. It doesn't matter at this point. We have had quarterly service and that means they come once every 3 months. And the stipulation with quarterly service is it's $95 every 3 months and if within 30 days you needed a reservice they would come back out and respray for free. That is ALWAYS how it's been. There have been days where I call on the 30th day and the women in the office that answer the phone would tell me we have to pay $35 extra for the respray because it's not within 30 days. EVERY girl I have talked to in the office has the worst attitude problem. They have rotated different girls in and out of the office but the one that has been there for the longest is Sandra. Today I called for my 30 reservice. We had service on July 29 and today is August 26. THAT is before 30 days. She told me Yauncey was off for a few days and she doesn't know if she was going to be able to accommodate without a $35 fee. I said I'm calling before 30 days and she said you need to have the house serviced before 30 days, which has NEVER been what I have been told. So because they are short handed with workers I have to pay when the quarterly INCLUDES complimentary reservice. No. So she said she has to talk to the manager and figure out what he wants to do. And she will call back. So she called and said someone will call tomorrow with a time for Friday even though I told her I am only available a certain time on Friday. Whatever. So a few hours later I get an email the service manager Matt. Here it is copy and pasted. "After reviewing your account it looks like you've needed a lot of additional services this year which tell us the quarterly service isn't sufficient due to the pest pressure at your house. We are recommending switching you to an alternate monthly schedule which is 6 services for the year. The new rate will be $85 going forward. The other option is to keep you quarterly but each call back would be an additional $45 unless you had a major emergency in the house." Nowhere in the agreement does it state that if you have "a lot of additional services you need to switch to the more expensive plan". Why do you tell your customers if any point in 30 days you need a reservice to call and it's no problem. Not only is this company EXTREMELY UNPROFESSIONAL and rude, but now they are trying to change policies?! Yah I'm good. I'll miss yauncey and the professionalism, the politeness he gives to us, but I cannot deal with any of these people in the office any longer. I'll be talking with Matt tomorrow and cancelling our service. read more

Communication was either nonexistent or misleading, and I felt like I was constantly getting the runaround instead of actual answers. On top of that, the quality of the service/product was nowhere near what was promised. It felt rushed, careless, and honestly like they just don't care about doing a good job. We've been using Delk for a few years now and our service has been amazing. We've tried other providers and had horror stories that seem to never end. After pretty much giving up and trying to do it myself with stuff from the local hardware stores our spiders and bug problem kept getting worse. We stumbled upon Delk and figured we would give it one more round with a pest control service. After talking with Brad and learning what our real issues were we felt we are in good hands. The tech that came was very polite with a big smile and treated our property with respect. If we ever have any questions they get answered in a timely fashion even if our questions are dumb. After spending over $10,000 to re-insulate and seal up our attic crawlspace, we asked Delk for rodent control and specifically help with rats. Delk assured us that all issues were taken care of and outside access for rodents and rats into the house was sealed up. Within a few weeks we had a whole new family of rats and droppings all over our brand new insulation. We have since changed pest control service and in one week the new service has done what Delk could not in three months. I do not recommend Delk for any service as I was told they would only use poison and not any kill trap... leaving the rodents to ingest poison and die at any time in the walls of my house read more

BASED OFF INSPECTION MATT came in to do an INSPECTION for bed bugs and he called me the day of my appointment and was able to come in EARLIER than expected! Which is good when you're paranoid and worried about a pest issue ! I originally called in TERMINIX and the person came 2 HOURS LATE . And did a very quick search. I showed him a picture and he glanced and said oh yup that's bed bugs and then told me that he would send me a report . It's been about 5 days and I still have not gotten a report! MATT however was able to send me the REPORT about an hour after he left ! SAME DAY . Turns out I don't have bed bugs , but he was pretty informative and able to answer the questions that I had at that time. He began the inspection with my dad so I wasn't there the whole time . But when I was he made sure to look carefully. I ALSO like that their CAR is normal and doesn't scream "PEST CONTROL" to the neighbors. read more

I called on Monday to make an appointment for regular service. The person on the phone took my information and address and said someone would be calling me. A man called about 2 minutes later was very nice and we set up an appointment for Wednesday between 12-2. He said the technician would text to let me know when to expect him. I took time off work to make sure I was available. At 1:45, I called the company to see if anyone was coming. The woman informed me they had no record of my address or ever calling. She asked if I would like to setup an appt and I said no. That would have been easy business for them that just walked out the door. I read another review that was similar so beware! I should have checked the reviews on here first; we had a similar experience that many reviewers have had with them. Headache from start to finish. Contrast that with DELK! Night and day difference from our dealings with Terminix. Friendly, knowledgable, responsive; the office staff at DELK were flawless! Scheduling an inspection was painless, and the inspector(Brad Delk) arrived right on the dot. He explained the whole process, all the options, quoted a fair price for the treatment, and generally put our minds at ease about the whole thing. (For first time home owners, TERMITES=major stress.) This company sucks! I have made appointment between 8-10 and no one showed up! I called the company the day before and they confirmed my appointment for Friday 8-10 and when I called at 1030 the day of appointment to find out qhere they are they said they dont have appointment today it was yesterday. Why qpuld they confirm that it was Friday and I only have 1 day off which is Friday and now My half a day is wasted for this unproffesional company! Amazing ! Have been using this service for a little over a yr. This company offers different methods to when to come spray your area. Which is also a great feature. Not one single bug pop's up after they leave. As a new mother , Having Delk Pest Control for my family meant. That I was making sure no bugs would get near my child during the day or night. having so many water bugs around in my area. living behind a cannel has its share of spiders , and insects, etc. Especially during the winter and hot summer's. Keith who came out last year and was wonderful! He didn't leave me in the situation without completely getting rid of the fleas. Brad had been wonderful to help me to get rid of the rats. He went under the mobile home on a rolling cart and placed the traps and came back till they were completely gone as well as educating me as what I could do. Delk came highly recommended by my realtor when my husband and I learned of a cockroach infestation at our new rental property. After speaking with Brad on the phone I felt confident that his team would get the job done. Little did I know... It would be an exasperating little journey. After his initial visit, he quoted me $245 for 3 treatments. Reasonable enough. He told me that he would communicate directly with our tenants, and that the 1st & 2nd treatments would be done 2 weeks apart. The 3rd treatment would occur 1 month later. Great, I thought. After the initial treatment, I was emailed my receipt for the full amount. Easy breezy, I thought. Well, 3.5 weeks passed before we talked with our tenants again. That was when we heard that Delk never returned after the initial treatment. What??!! I called up right away and asked to speak with Brad. He didn't have an explanation for me, but connected me with the woman who I assume is their office manager/scheduler. She offered neither an explanation nor an apology of any kind. I was only told that they would schedule the 2nd treatment with our tenants right away. I was confused and definitely a little annoyed. Trying to give them the benefit of the doubt, I thought, "Okay, maybe this was just a mix-up of some sort, and now that they are aware of it, the next 2 treatments will proceed as planned". Wrong again. I had to call them back AGAIN when we learned that the 3rd treatment was weeks overdue. And AGAIN, I was offered no explanation and no apology. At that point, I was so exasperated that I asked the office manager/scheduler if this was how they handled every job. She responded very nonchalantly that "someone else" (a substitute employee I assume) had written up my work order. REALLY? Is that all I get? How about, a "Wow, we really screwed this up!" How about a "We're so sorry for dropping the ball on this one." How about a "I promise we're really not this incompetent." The good news is that the cockroaches are resting in peace. That's why I gave them 2 stars. But next time I need pest control, I'll look for a service that I don't have to micro-manage. UPDATE: About 1 week after posting this review, I received a surprise phone call from Robbie, Delk's manager. He apologized for the way the job was handled, explained that their temporary employee had failed to schedule both follow-up treatments along with the initial treatment, and thanked me for my feedback. He even offered me a discount if I decide to give Delk another chance in the future. Thank you, Robbie. I very much appreciate your effort in following-up with me. Judging from the other reviews, my realtor's initial recommendation, and your follow-up, it sounds like my experience was very unusual. read more

I called Delk about a rat problem we had. They came out with three rat traps that I could have bought at any store for $10. They charge $200 to essentially hand me $10 in traps and say "Do it yourself." They refused to crawl into the side of the attic where the rats were nesting. Instead they would only place them within a few feet of the door. I told them the rats were not in that area but he said he would not crawl to the area they were. So, he placed the rats traps by the door and came back a week later. Surprise, surprise the traps caught nothing. He put bait on the traps and tried again (still leaving the traps in the same useless place.) He came out the next week and, of course, caught nothing. I said it wasn't doing any good to put the traps by the door because the rats weren't over there. He said if we wanted the traps on the other side of the house I'd have to do it myself. This was not a remote, inaccessible part of the attic. It would just require crawling in your knees instead of just walking over and setting them down. As most modern attics require crawling on your knees to get into them, I imagine they have to crawl around in attics from time to time and I don't think I was asking for the moon here. Several weeks, $200 and Delk caught a grand total of 0 rats. Waste of money. If you have a rodent problem go to someone else. read more

We founds Delk's Pest Control On Yelp. We also found a lot of other pest control companies on Yelp. No one could fit us in or evening come out for a simple quote. Delk's set up with an appointment right away for a simple quote & services us the same day. Now I'm scheduled for a free follow up too. Tim who came out was super nice, gave us advice & did the job we asked him to do. He clean the webs for free too. Other companies said that was an additional charge but not Delk's. I didn't have to sign a contract like I was told with another company. I'm so happy with Delk's & look forward to calling them back n the future. read more

We have used Les Witten at Delk to do the pest report for the purchase of four houses. He is super. My husband is very good at spotting house problems, but Les has an uncanny ability to find things that are a problem. Clear and thorough reports.
