As you walk down the little stairs, you have a selection of cigars and then its into a room with wall to wall wine bottles from pretty much all over the world along with Champagne. We LOVED this place. We got lucky finding this gem when we visited Waynesville. In the very back of the wine room, there are some little sitting areas spread all around for you to sit and enjoy either a glass/bottle of wine, champagne, or heck, even a cold beer. They also have a little menu if you need a snack. On some nights they have live music. We didn't get the chance to experience that, but as we were leaving, they were getting set up for it. Bummer. We could have spent hours in this place checking out all of the bottles of wine. I wish we could have tried them all too! I am not sure that you will not find a wine that will not suit you. Barely walked in the door, and the staff was waiting to see us. The restaurant was bustling with business and I didn't stop the staff from being attentive, friendly and expeditious with our service. They literally make you show your driver's license to be able to use a credit or debit card. If the…read morename on the card does not match your license, they will not sell to you. What if you're using a nameless prepaid card (like from a tax refund) or you're using your spouse's card etc. From a legal standpoint, in NC a business can't refuse a transaction if the card is signed on the back. And look, I understand there are criminals out there that steal credit/debit cards. However, that doesn't give this business to treat normal customers as such. The next time I go into this store, I'm going to have my phone out recording. When I get refused service for trying using my wife's debit card (which is a joint account with my name on it), I will file a lawsuit. Whenever I win, every employee following this policy will be out of a job. And if the store manager is enforcing this, I will see to it, that she will get fired too.
