A hidden gem!! The drive to the winery had us guessing slightly what we were heading towards, but there are signs leading you to the winery, and when you pull in it is such a pleasant surprise. The service was so incredible, the views are indescribable, and the wine and cheese were delicious (bonus points for beautiful dogs that are just happy to be there). Highly recommend the Smokey mountain mist if you like a full body red. Couldn't recommend making this a stop on your trip enough! Wow what a really beautiful location.. going to this winery had me question if we were in right place because it was a gravel drive up to it but we saw signs telling us keep going. Once you get up to it the views were amazing! Nice outside seating and indoors as well but all had wonderful views of mountains. We sat on a patio looking out and once seated we had a wonderful personalized tasting at our table. They also have an array of cheese and sausages to have with your wine. We chose to grab a glass after our tasting and a small platter of cheese and sausages crackers. Very relating! We came at end of the day and almost had whole spot to ourselves. I could have sat sipping wine and breathing in that fresh air and beauty all day! I highly recommend this winery! Staff was very friendly and helpful, answered questions and had nice conversations with them and other couple came after us. Wish we could have spent more time! I stopped here with my husband and one of my close friends after our stay in Cherokee. It's about 20 mins outside of Cherokee and was a very nice drive out. This place is off the beaten path. Loved the interesting location and friendly service. The owners Heather and Rob have two dogs that come to say hi. Other dogs are not allowed. 6 tastes for $8. I liked the Thomas falls (think Nobello or Kim Crawford ) and Fireside Red. My husband likes the southern hospitality (sweet peach infused Chardonnay ). Overall the wine is decent but not amazing. We also ordered the cheese, crackers and salami. The white sharp cheddar was excellent and my husband loves the salami. Fun place to visit. I enjoy exploring wineries when I travel, and I haven't found one in the Smoky Mountains yet that I haven't enjoyed. This one was off the beaten path which was part of the appeal. The drive through the mountains was very enjoyable, and it is hidden away over a hillside and up another hill. The view is spectacular, the pups are very friendly, the hosts were engaging, and the wines were tasty. It was quite busy when I was there. I would suppose a different time would have been a bit more peaceful. But it was a nice place to stop for a break driving through the mountains, and I left with several bottles of wine to enjoy through the winter. Next time I'm back in the Smokies, I'm sure I'll stop here again. read more

We were staying at a nearby inn and the owners recommended we come here. We followed GPS up some winding roads and came upon a little building with open patio areas, one with a stunning view of the mountains. Keep is mind that a winery is where they make the wine but not necessarily where the grapes are. I believe this winery sources grapes from several sources. We did a tasting (you get to choose from among various wines) and liked the Malbec so much that we bought a bottle. They also supply water and some crackers to help clear your palate. There was also a large, mellow dog that got lots of attention from the patrons. All in all, a very relaxing and enjoyable experience. I've seen negative reviews of this place because they don't allow kids -- that's fine with us! There are multiple signs on the way saying it is strictly 21 and over. We spent the morning over at deep Creek, hiking and enjoying the waterfalls. So, we decided to try Deep creek winery. We are glad we did! They were pretty busy for Friday afternoon at 1:30 PM but Rob took care of us and everybody there. Service was excellent. We did the wine tasting and tried a few wines we had never tried before. They were all good. Our favorite was black bear - their sweet blackberry merlot. We also had the cheese, crackers and salami tray. That was tasty. We had a glass of the black bear and bought two black bear bottles to go! We met their two dogs Roi and Ben. Both were super sweet. We enjoyed our visit, and will visit again. Decided to try this out and was very satisfied. All of the seating is outside and they are very cautious with Covid safety. I watched the owner (with mask) wipe down a table with spray immediately after it was vacated. We had the wine tasting which was 6 pours for $8. They have a nice selection. The wines were great. We also had the cheese and salami with crackers and enjoyed everything including the great view. We were not rushed at all. The seating is outdoors but is covered so it is fine during the rain and I noticed heat lamps in the ceiling so I would imagine you could visit when it's cold. It is less than 15 mins drive from downtown Bryson City. We got a bottle to go which was only $16. This is a great place to go and relax and try some wine with a great view. Amazing experience, we learned about the history of the place from Rob (the owner). My fiancé made sure to ask a million questions and he was so kind to answer them all. We enjoyed great cheese and delicious wine, in addition to the beautiful view. Roi and Ben (the owner's dogs) walk around the property in the friendliest of ways, just greeting everyone and waiting to be pet. We felt very safe during our time at the winery as they are following NC state mandates to ensure everyone stays safe and healthy, everyone wore their masks to and from the tables and I believe it gave an added sense of security. So I took a trip to Deep Creek winery like I normally do when I visit Bryson city. My family has been vacationing here for several decades and we have supported this business since day 1! This last experience was beyond disappointing. They actually refused me and my guest because we had a young child with us. Are you serious? I always rave about this place and support local businesses! I've been in the "biz" for a long time and understand covid times are difficult but To tell me I can't even sit on the patio because I brought my FAMILY is absolutely absurd. My husband and I stopped by on a late Friday afternoon. What a quiet, beautiful little gem we found! The wines are delicious, the atmosphere is serene, and the owners, Heather and Rob are super sweet. My favorites were the Thomas Falls White and Big Red Reserve.The grapes are outsourced but they do everything else from fermenting to bottling. But as we proceeded to venture in...a voice rudely stops us and asks ...."aren't there any tables outside"...THEN...proceeds to spew forth "I would PREFER that you sit outside" and storms back outside...now that's all I heard. We decided to leave because obviously four Black Women were not welcome here. A wonderfully pleasant afternoon! Ok...the winery is well hidden on back roads about 10 minutes out of Bryson City NC. Given that it is the only winery nearby, we decided to go - even though owners Rob and Heather buy rather than grow their grapes. After growling up the hill we found a modest and unassuming tasting room that was much enhanced by an absolutely magnificent mountain view. The tasting program was generous and easy, made tastier with a well curated cheese board. Owner/winemaker Rob was gracious enough to answer all of our questions, even though he was a bit busy with a number of customers. But the best surprise came with the wines. Ok, perhaps not brilliantly sophisticated, but there was not one on the list that was not thoroughly drinkable and enjoyable. We stopped in to this winery while staying over a weekend. It is small and quaint, the owners run the day to day operations and they are very, very friendly! They also have two friendly dogs that will greet you upon arrival. They have a nice outside deck that overlooks a valley, and an indoor area that is covered. They also have a nice fire pit outside.
