Delta airlines extremely unhelpful and supervisor "Susan Elizabeth" very rude and condescending. thank you, delta and Susan Elizabeth, for ensuring I never fly delta again. Do yourself a favor. I have never flown Delta, but based off my first interaction with them, I will take my next opportunity to do so, without a doubt. I had a Delta flight booked, but needed to cancel because of a death in my family. When I called to speak to a representative, she spoke to me as if I was a close personal friend. Refunded my flight, no questions asked. I really appreciated the kind words, and the ease of changing my travel plans from the delta representative at a tough time in my life. Thank you for the great customer service, Delta! read more

***Buyer Beware***!!! CAUTION WHEN PURCHASING AEROMEXICO TICKETS THROUGH DELTA AIRLINES. Just had the worst experience with Delta I've ever had. Normally I LOVE flying with them but this time they made a mistake with my booking, poorly communicated with me, poorly communicated with AEROMEXICO, and the manager at Delta Lilibeth wouldn't own up to Delta's booking error. My boyfriend has purchased our tickets two weeks ago through DELTA. The tickets were confirmed and a booking receipt was sent. We arrive at the airport three hours early since it's an international flight. He was able to check in online, I was not. Waited in line at AEROMEXICO were then told that Delta only provided a ticket number for him not me. Weird, since we had receipt and confirmation. They send us to DELTA, we have to take a shuttle bus to another terminal, there we speak with Eric who was being as helpful as he could. He called Delta bookings and found that the issue occured with the backend booking due to using a gift card for part of the purchase. Again weird since the booking went through and we got confirmation for both of us. Finally he got us the ticket number that Aeromexico needed, at this point we've been dealing with customer service and waiting in lines for both parties for over an hour and a half. We get back and just miss the one hour check in cut off. We shuttle back to DETLA to get rebooked. This is when Lilibeth was trying to say it was our fault. This was soo insulting and absolutely absurd!!! We had direct flights to Guadalajara getting in before 6pm. The best Lilibeth could do is a night flight to Mexico City then an AM flight to Guadalajara. I asked about a hotel voucher since we have to stay overnight and are losing a night at our hotel in Guadalajara. Lilith said maybe call Delta after your trip to see what they can do. I hope DELTA reaches out to amend this. I never write reviews like this but am very upset. We are both missing a day of our friends wedding festivities and a night at a hotel we splurged on. read more

The reason why I will give Delta a 5 is because of the Delta employee who worked out of the MDW Chicago terminal name Herbert Turner. I had panicked because the app automatically updated a new flight for my friend while keeping me on the original flight. With calmness, understanding, and the upmost professionalism, Mr. Turner put my friend back on the flight I was on and even went out of his way to make sure we sat next to each other since I expressed my fear of flying alone. I am an extremely busy person and I just had to take the time and let you know that I am a happy customer because of this amazing employee delta is so lucky to have! read more

Delta is my preferred airline and I will hate to have to switch but the amount of cities they fly direct to from Chicago has me taking connecting flights for over half of my trips. The staff is always very friendly and accommodating. The people seem to care about how you get to your destination. Trying to decide if it is worth it to keep flying with them and continue to have to take connecting flights everywhere which makes my travel days twice as long. read more

My luggage is in Florida, and I am not. It was mass chaos trying to get in line for the plane. I was in Zone 2 for boarding and Zone 2 never appeared on the "Now Boarding" screen after Zone 1 was shown. There were five of us in a group that missed the flight, but we weren't the only ones -- multiple other people missed that same flight. Two other flights were trying to board along with ours so you physically could not even make it to the line because there were so many people crowding it. Two of us in the group had updates on our phone from the Delta App but the notifications went from "plane delayed" straight to "plane awaiting takeoff." It's not like we weren't paying attention either: I was watching the board the entire time, the line was not moving, and the announcements over the PA system could not be heard at all. There was a man waiting at the gate, literally second in line, who had no idea he missed the same flight until he overheard another customer tell us our flight had left. We also found it ridiculous that after multiple flights had been canceled due to bad weather and flooding yesterday, only one representative was present at the Help Desk. After explaining our situation, the representative actually laughed at us and was very sarcastic. No one ever apologized and we heard over and over again, despite multiple others missing this same flight, "It's your fault that you missed your flight." In the end, we sought out our own help and found one happy and helpful desk agent who unfortunately could not do much for us but put us on standby for a flight to our connecting city (an option that never came up with Customer Service) and one supervisor who was sympathetic, yet only put us on a flight early the next morning. As a cherry on top, she checked to see that our bags were safe but actually found out one of our bags didn't even make it on the plane. Thanks Delta Air Lines for caring so much about your customers; we will not be flying with you again unless this is somehow reconciled. read more

I've flown many national and international airlines and Delta has provided the most exceptional flight experience! The flight attendants and passengers were all incredibly friendly, and there were two seats on each side of the plane as opposed to three, which gave me a lot of room and comfort for the duration of my flight. There was also more than adequate space in front of each seat. I was able to stretch my legs from my flight to New York and back. The snacks and drinks offered were great and I liked that alcoholic beverages were included in the complimentary menu selection. The next time I fly I will do my best to get a ticket with Delta. I've never felt so relaxed on a flight before and am appreciative of how professional and accommodating staff members are. Their level of professionalism is admirable and other airlines should take after their example. read more

Ive always flown delta and always will. Awesome company. No complaints. Dont use any other airline

My flight on delta was a good experience.   Spend the extra money and upgrade your seat to sky zone.   I felt it was worth it.   You're the next in line after disabled individuals,  families with small children and diamond members.   The legroom is very nice and I didn't feel cramped,  even with someone sitting right next to me.   Take off and landing were smooth and we made it early.   It's also a great feeling to not have to worry about overhead space and have to wait to get to your seat in gen pop.   I was quite happy to have down delta. read more

If i could give half a star, I would. This ariline is plagued with problems from customer relations to dirty, disrepaired planes. My flights to and from Houston and Detroit and short hopt from Detroit to Traverse City, MI. were horrible. One of the other reviews here said FREEZING. What is that all about? Perhaps we need to pay extra for heat. One of the attendants told me that it was "quite comfortable up front", i.e. First Class. Disrepair is a nice way to say falling apart - an overhead was held together with dirty duct tape (many days old and we have pictures), my seat did not recline (the fa's not helpful answer was to swritch with my husband - I guess so he could be uncomfortable), stitching was coming out and loose threads hanging off the seat in front of us. **Best of all was the horrible griding noise over the left wing of the plane on one of the legs. Everyone's eyes iwidened when it started which clearly ndicated this was scary to all us passengers. Our crack Flight Attendant said that was "normal." Really!!! I have flown for over 40 years and never heard anything like that . Delta either is having financial problems (not very reassuring) or just doesn't care. Terrible experience. I will avoid DA at all cost. read more

Im a fan of Delta. They treat me right.

It would be 0 stars honestly. My first time flying with delta will be my last. I'm usually aware of the personal item/carry on policy, but I always bring my purse with me to sit on my lap during my flights. No one has ever made it big deal about it like Delta at O'Hare. The desk lady (I didn't get her name but she is black with braids or locs) and glasses was super rude about my having my purse. Mind you, I had my AirPods in the entire time I waited to board so I really didn't think that they would have different rules from other airlines like American. She called me out in front of everyone, very rude and told me I needed to have my bag checked. I walked down after having my boarding pass scanned and "checked bag" to ask an attendant for a second opinion, wasn't even trying to be shady. She came down and invaded my space and took my bag out my hand to be put with the other checked bags. Now I understand different rules for different airlines, if my bag needed to checked then that's fine but she could've been much much nicer about it. I really wish I could've got her name, but a part of me wants to fly delta again to see if I can meet her again and tell her off. This is not how you treat customers, period. read more

I recently flew with Delta from Lax to Ohare and back . On the flight back the director of the flight cabin was extremely rude and unprofessional . I have voiced my complaint with their corporate office and am waiting a response. Great experience from check-in to deplaning. Friendly staff. Professionals all the way. Tip: Use the skycaps curbside to check your bags if the lines inside are long. Time saved is well worth the price of a tip! There is a Starbucks just after passing through security and another one down by the Delta gates. read more

I made the mistake of flying delta from Atlanta to Ohare today. It was an MD-88 and was grounded for 2hrs because of weather. Then we landed at Ohare and sat in the penalty box for 2hrs and 25mins. Every 45 min the pilot would announce another 45min before the next update. After almost 2hrs they offered the passengers a small cup of water. It wasn't until someone had a medical emergency that we pulled into a gate. When we did we saw 6 other open gates. Never ever ever ever again. It took me 8hrs to fly from Atlanta to Chicago. Delta gave me no vouchers, no food and only a single soft drink for 8 hrs. Seriously?!?! I have a cough now from the recirculated air. Thanks Delta, quite a consolation prize. Do yourself a favor and boycott Delta. read more

I take this airline for work purposes, I've collected a lot of miles with them so I feel stuck between a rock and a hard place. Their boarding process is a joke, it resembles a gaggle f@*k, especially with the 20 plus groups that pre-board before the zones. What in the hell is the damn point for the various service levels? I'd be better off with the cattle car of the sky...(you know who)... read more

I choose to fly Delta so I could get my wife out to her destination without going to Ohare, what a mistake. I do the self check in at the kiosk, but when I get to the counter Ms. Delta was busy playing with her cell phone. Since my wife was making one stop before getting to her final location. Between texts the Delta employee says okay your set to Detroit, I look at her and ask her what about the second part of the flight. I get the roll of the eyes and she says you are all set, but she never mentioned the final destination. Never again. read more

I wish I could give negative stars! My luggage was lost on the way from LA to Chicago and Delta seriously needed two days after arrival in Chicago to deliver it to my house! They said they would deliver it the next day so I had to take a day off and in the end they did not show up at all! I incurred essential extra costs just waiting for them to come and lost 1 1/2 days! Incompetence and unprofessionalism. read more

Never again. Unless you fly them weekly you will be disrespected. I made my reservation through my corporate travel site (and they are trying to court my company its employees right now). Reserved my seat. Guess what? When I checked in online, my aisle seat was a middle. No other seats left. When I tried to assign a seat to my return flight the web site would not allow. This is a poor excuse for an airline in any economy. I'll fly Southwest. read more

I'm writing as I sit here, which i probably shouldn't do when I am angry, but hey, why not. Let me tell you about the customer service at the gate from delta. I arrived to the airport early and the flight before me was boarding. I asked if I could jump on and she said no. We are full. I get that, so I hung out just in case someone didn't show up. Funny enough, two people didn't show up. So, she lets another lady on but tells me no. "I have to get this plane off" As if checking in one more person in would hold this process up. I didn't even have a carry on. I don't know how in good conscience someone could let a flight go with an empty seat? Knowing that I was there, this is just plain lazy. I was at ohare with a ORD to DTW flight. Scheduled for an 8:30 trying to get on a 630. Gate 11, just in case that helps to identify the lazy gate attendant. Thanks so much, but I have choices in my airline, and I will be exercising that in the near future based on my past few delta experiences. Thanks but no thanks. read more

Delta canceled our flight to NYC because supposedly there is construction on the Delta terminal.... There has been construction for months!!! How could they not know about this?!!! I live 4hrs away and Delta was not willing to compensate a hotel room for the MAJOR inconvenience! They also tried to put me on a flight to Atlanta at 8am the next day with a connecting flight to JFK, instead of direct flight to JFK. Delta was unwilling to work with me AT ALL!!! I am so disappointed with Delta's Service!!! This is not the way to start out any trip! read more

Always a comfortable, clean, and friendly enviroment created at delta. Thanks for the great flight.

Y'all need to get your bag drop under control. At United you can print your boarding pass when you check in and it makes the lines manageable. Delta is the real struggle - pricing is decent last minute, but it's probably because nobody wants to wait in line for hours read more

Super poor service all around. 3 flights canceled and now #4 is delayed and possible to cancel too. Flight monitors are rare to locate on concourse. Recharging stations are just a rare a find in the delta area as well. I had to go to another "United" concourse to finally find a plug in station. So if you need power for recharging or perhaps any modicum polite customer care you may need another airline read more

I used Delta to get my pup from Boston to Chicago. The people I spoke with on the phone for booking and whatnot were very helpful. They were able to answer all of my questions, and booking his flight was relatively easy. Even though it was pretty expensive, flying him Delta was the cheapest option I could find. When I dropped him off at the Cargo area at Boston Logan, the employees there were also quite helpful. My pup was extremely nervous and agitated, as this was his first time flying, but the workers put up with him nonetheless. I was worried because of his barking they wouldn't let him fly, but they didn't seem to be phased by him at all. Thank goodness. The two-star subtraction comes because of the destination & pick-up. Pup had to have a layover in Detroit, and there was going to be about an hour's time in between his flights. I had his flight numbers and arrival times for O'Hare all ready as I was waiting at my house to pick him up. Then Delta Airlines ends up calling, about a half hour before I was going to leave to get him, saying he was put on an earlier layover flight and has been at O'Hare for 45 minutes already! What?!?!?? Well, gosh, thanks for letting me know ahead of time, while I sit around waiting and thinking he's still flying, the poor traumatized dog has been stuck in his crate! So I hurry up to O'Hare, even though it's still a good 45 minutes away (meaning he had to be stuck there even longer.) While the people I talked to did their job, they also complained that he had been barking the whole time, and told me I should get a bigger crate for him next time. I'm sorry, maybe next time YOU should call me to tell me he was put on an earlier flight! An apology also would have been nice! (Also, I had already gotten an oversized crate for the pup and his size, there was definitely no need for a bigger one.) I'm glad they were able to get him in sooner, but the effort was wasted by their lack of communication. read more

I am in a long distance relationship from Chicago to New York! I take Delta because NY (LGA) has the Marine Terminal and the flight attendants are amazing! Do you like being charged over double the amount listed for 8 extra pounds in your checked bag? Well Delta is the airline for you! Not only do these f*cktards delay flights because, among other things, their super professional staff is late, they also are willing to charge you MORE THAN AN EXTRA SEAT FOR A BAG THAT WEIGHTS LESS THAN A TEENAGER. $125 for 8 extra pounds. The leg room and space in the LARGER planes (so they say they are large but not so), is SMALL and TIGHT making it difficult to get up and navigate to the bathroom which I dont. The amenities are HALF/COFFEE CUP or HALF/SODA CAN and a cookie small enough for a baby (if that). Really? I especially dont like having to worry if my flight will make my connection or trying to FLY to get to it barely. That is why I dislike connections -- either they are too tight or too long of a break between the connections. Delta it seems overbooks flights and asks the carryon bags to be sent to destination. Well, offer to give something to the customer since the customer lugged the bags around in the first place. No one wants to do this for nothing. Guess I miss the good old days when you got a hot meal and more elbow/leg room on a flight and when you could see a movie overhead and not on individual screens (which are small). Delta should offer Non-Stop Flights, More Food and a FULL BOTTLE/CAN or bottomless coffee. read more

NEVER fly delta. Staff is incredibly rude and condescending and offers no help..with anything. I had a bag that I needed to find room for on a full flight, an extremely full flight mind you, I found a place for it but I guess it didn't work for them so they asked me to moved it, I then asked where they suggested I move it, about 3 flight attendants rolled their eyes as if I asked them the dumbest question known to man and then said to me "do you see all that extra space on the other side of the plane? Yeah that's where you should put it." Needless to say I WILL NEVER fly delta again read more

Simple weekend trip turned into nightmare. The trip into Chicago was an ordeal unto itself, but ill focus on leaving. There was a line for security that stretched out of sight, right next to the counter. Even though I had 90 mins to my flight there was no way. Went to the counter to book another flight and was told "you need to try...". 2+ hours later... Do I need to tell u how this story ends. I'm sure many have similar stories. I'm putting this review up in case this happens to anyone else!! I could not find any info about if you get to check 1 bag for free or not. Well the answer is NOT!!! If you want to bring a carry on that's fine other than that $25 each way for your "excess baggage". Yes, I am a newbie when it comes to flying and I usually fly Southwest, but I had a extremely hard time finding any information on checking a bag using delta. Just putting this on here to answer the question (1 CHECKED BAG IS NOT FREE....it is considered an excess bag) Other than that it was just like flying with anyone else. Never fly Delta. I was trying to fly from San Antonio to Dayton with an hour layover in Detroit. My flight was late due to "weather" though Delta was the only delayed flight on the entire board. With the delay, I could not make my connecting flight, and I could not find a Delta agent in the entire airport without going back out to the desk and then dealing with TSA again. I finally had to call a 1 800 number to talk to a Delta rep while I was standing in the area with l the Delta gates. The representative I talked to was extremely rude and basically told me sorry you're SOL. The earliest flight I could get to Dayton was the next evening and I would have to pay for my own hotel and they wouldn't cover a rental car for me to drive the 3 hours to Dayton because it was due to "weather". Again, I reiterate how this was a problem only for this airline. I ended up missing my flight and paying 100 extra dollars for the rental car to get myself to Dayton at 02:00 and was not reimbursed for the missed flight. I will never fly with them again. read more
