Arrived from Incheon- I was surprised and happy to hear the Captain - my first flight with a female Captain too- loved her sense of humor- First- I changed one of my flights so I could avoid sitting in LAX for almost six hours- and saw Salt Lake flight- I was told by another rep the previous one should have never offered a 58 min. Overlay window-- supposed to be 90 min.. Not happy that the staff incorrectly told us the wrong carousel for luggage-..while wasted time watching another flights luggage.. Wait- it got worse- They split our luggage to two different carousels... what???? Now I'm stressing... had a cart and had to pick three luggage's from two different opposite side carousels.... Heard a lot of disgruntled customers saying they wouldn't fly Delta again.. First time flying internationally and this was a very big learning experience... read more

What a disaster. I had a 5:30 flight SLC == BOS. The plane was coming in from LAX. Was actually due to arrive early. About the time we were set to start boarding , we get told that we will have a 2-1/2 he delay because the plane hasn't departed Grand Junction yet. Huh?? Our plane is coming from LAX. By searching some flight tracking apps, turns out our plane was diverted from SLC to Grand Junction. But the Delta staff refused to tell us that. The flight eventually comes in from Grand Junction. But apparently the Comfort Plus section - a passenger had vomited all over it. The first cleaning. crew somehow missed cleaning that. So even more delays while Delta had to call in another cleaning crew. But again Delta staff won't tell you a the truth. I only found out since I was standing near the flight attendants and I heard the outgoing Cain crew whisper to the incoming cabin crew. In the end it was a 3-1/2 hour delay for our flight. FAA regulations say that we are supposed to be compensated for delays over 3 hours. But nothing from Delta. What a crap airline. Only lies from them. read more

I was flying with my cat and was coming from a connecting flight at arrived 10 minutes before the flight was set to leave and nobody was at the gate. The doors were locked. I was waving at the pilot and nobody gave a damn. For me, I can be fine but for a helpless pet that is traveling and can't use the restroom is heartless of that pilot and that crew. A delta employee came out while the terminal was still connected but refused to do anything except say they couldn't do anything about it. Heartless airline, heartless people, nobody should ever book with them and I surely won't ever again as I sit with my cat who hasn't had food or water or gone to the restroom in over 7 hours now. read more

Weather I leave from New York, Florida, California or Salt Lake City... the experience is usually the same. There seem to be multiple "Delta Air LInes" throughout Yelp. So, If you feel that you've seen this review before, you probably have. I can't say enough good things about Delta, they always do a wonderful job getting me from here to there or... in reverse. it is an amazing airline. It has always been a great airline. Their planes are always clean when we get on. Unfortunately someone always stashes that piece of garbage and I'm usually the one who finds it. LOL. They do a great job of preparing flights from customer to customer. The attendants are always very friendly, courteous and professional. A great group of very talented and committed individuals. They should all be very proud of themselves. I have flown both economy and Delta Priority 1. BIG difference and depending on the length of the flight, it may be worth it. I recognize that there is a big price difference in the two so it's not always an easy choice. The seating is always comfortable and there is always enough legroom. (I'm 5'11"). The video screens are a good size and there is always enough entertainment choices. I'll give the snacks an ok. Nothing spectacular but OK. I definitely miss the blue chips. I definitely miss the free hi speed WiFi. If it's a long flight, you can buy and it's pretty reasonably priced. I don't mind flying, really I don't. When I do, Delta does a great job. I'm not always thrilled about be put into a tube and shot across the country sitting for 3-6 hours but when I do, Delta is a great way to go. KUDOs to the team at Delta. read more

I hadn't flown Delta almost a decade because of verbally abusive flight attendants (Atlanta crew). Plus when changing planes in Atlanta, during a rainstorm, my luggage (a coat carrier with suits, shirts, and a tuxedo) arrived at my Florida destination as if it had been tossed in a lake. Had Delta not mastered dry luggage transfer in a city that gets 55 inches of rain per year? But my recent experience in and out of Salt Lake was exemplary. An airline review is only as good as the last flight one takes. In our most recent experiences, our connecting flight from RNO to MSP and then ATL to RNO coming back was smooth. On the first leg, the planes were at adjacent gates (with only a 50 minute layover) and coming back only involved a 10 minute (or less walk). I've come through SLC before as its a Delta Hub. Like Reno, the flights in and out can be a little bumpy, but I take that in stride. So far, I've found navigating SLC to be manageable as huge airports often are not. read more

Delta Airlines is not honest when it comes to their baggage policy. Don't be fooled evening you use your American Express card to book. If all are not on the same reservation they will charge you baggage fees. Furthermore they are not willing to refund even though they don't tell you this info up front. I will not be fooled twice. I travel for work, often multiple times a week. If I can find a flight on Delta I book on Delta, even if it costs more and I have to come up with a justification on my expense report. Fortunately I'm out of SLC so Delta is usually an option and usually competitively priced. Best staff at every point of contact, including their phone support. Best seatback experience. My personal goal is to get the high score on the trivia game in every seat I sit in. It will brighten my day more than any of you can imagine if I sit in a seat and see that I already have the high score on that screen. I have been fortunate in regard to ontime flights and luggage always getting where it needs to be. I'm not superstitious but writing that out makes me just a little uncomfortable, so I knocked on some aircraft grade aluminium just for good measure. I fly enough that I occasionally get a first class seat and Delta offers a great first class experience. read more

Nevertheless, they seem to stick to schedule and I never arrive to my destination late (knock on wood). Boarding is easy. First Class is comfy and the service is excellent! read more

Today was the most unprofessional experience I've had to date in my short experience flying Delta Airlines. I'm very upset because I expected better customer service from such a premium airline company which is the reason I switched to Delta. It started on my original flight (DL 1244) when the stewardess lied to everyone by saying that the flight was not going to be late. Fast forward and here we are in Salt Lake City airport arriving more than 30 minutes late which most of us had to rush to try and catch a connecting flight. It doesn't help that it took 15 minutes to get to the next gate/ flight (DL 3788) which left earlier than expected. By the time we arrived at the gate, the attendant was gone and the plane was leaving. I then went to the Delta counter to request assistance and just by my observation, that whole staff at the time (July 3, 2026, between 8pm to closing) was the most unprofessional and rude staff I've ever had to encounter. I was listening to them talk down to many Delta customers who also missed their flights and they showed zero empathy on them. I was then assisted by Francisco who showed no professionalism and proceeded to call me by my last name. Not "Sir" nor "Mr.", not even an apology on missing my flight. I don't expect anything but basic professionalism. I had to correct him and he then said in a very sarcastic manner "Okay, Mr. ******, whatever you say". I was completely lost for words. He then tried to say "well you had 15 minutes" to get to your gate. I explained to him that gate A09 is at least a 10-15 minute walk to Gate A43 and even then we did not get off the plane in time. Then he said well the weathers not our fault and "it is what it is". I even told him that the connecting flight left earlier than expected and that the gate attendant was nowhere to be found around 8:44 which he didn't believe me even though I showed him a text from Delta saying that. I was not the only one that missed this flight, as a courtesy, they should have informed the next flight that there are a couple passengers that are on their way. I've seen airlines do this before as a courtesy. It's just the right thing to do. Needless to say, Francisco and the rest of the staff at the time (I didn't catch their names but they looked like Hispanic female's) did nothing to help continue or reinforce any damaged relationships with Delta's customers. They offered no solutions to fix the problem, showed no empathy to what customers were experiencing or remorse. A very unacceptable and unprofessional experience from a "premium" airline. Francisco and this staff worked the Delta counter at Concourse A and is the type of staff that ruins relationships with customers. read more

I am deathly allergic to dogs. Delta has a policy that dogs be in a container in the waiting area, in the plan and getting off the plane. They must fit under the seat in front of the passenger. I was on a flight with three dogs, two of which were not contained in waiting area and at least one was not in a container on the plane and too large to fit under the seat. The containers help contain the salvia, dander and hair and help decrease allergic reactions. When my traveling companions and I tried to explain the issue, the flight attendant was very rude. The second flight attendant and the gate attendant tried to help me, but they couldn't get the same flight for several days and another flight they could get me on would land 60 miles away and I would be responsible for my own transportation to the original airport. I had an asthma attack on the plane and it ruined the first days of my vaction. When I contacted the airline, the person who responded offer me a $150 dollar credit and I don't think he even read my letter as he quoted back to me the policy that I quoted to him on dogs being in containers and said they didn't violate anything based on that policy. I felt denigrated and unheard. I had always like Delta in the past, but I will never fly with them again and encourage anyone with an ADA issue to fly with a company that will follow the law. read more

first of all people who pay for basic flights are last to get on the plane. They are also the first to have their seat moved. The plane left Jacksonville on time, made it to Minneapolis. Two of the flight attendants were rude (a guy w/glasses and a lady w/curly hair). For some reason the pilot held the plane for 30 mins for a family to get on the plane. The plane was late to SLC, the connecting flight planes did not wait 5 mins. I will NEVER fly delta again read more

Delta has roomy seats and leg room. Great for quick trips here and there. Good customer service and fair turnaround. Delayed flights seem to be part of the norm on every airline but Delta does a good job at rolling out the information. read more

We are here at our gate with Delta Airlines. We were able to get a seat assignment ahead of time this time in Salt Lake City instead of Reno. They did give us our seat assignment once we hit the airport online online through Delta Airlines app. I don't like that if you don't pay for a seat you get put in the very back of the plane. That is a real bummer that unless you pay for a ticket or a plane seat in advance, you get stuck in the back read more

Very disappointed with my experience today. My 18 year old daughter was traveling alone today and her flight was delayed, causing her to miss her bus, which I had already bought a ticket for. It was the last bus of the evening and she needed to get back to school for an early morning commitment. The person at the counter would not help her, even though the flight delay was Delta's fault, not my daughter's. I ended up losing the value of the bus ticket and also had to pay $230.00 for an Uber for her. Very unhappy with how this was handled. read more

7/19/24 " THE MICROSOFT IT DEBACLE" Delta was unfortunately one of the airlines that it had impacted. I could go on and on about it but it's the day after and I'm still triggered by the memory....and have yet to get my luggage. STUFF HAPPENS. In this case it wasn't Delta's fault.I get it. HOWEVER we can learn from it. And just in case Delta or an associate that can make a difference reads this, they could consider a few things: SET UP A TRIAGE OR STATIONS near the gates or BAGGAGE CLAIM. My issue was I had a connecting flight to LB that ended up cancelled all together. After weighing my options, I decided to rebook my connecting flight with SW because while I was getting texts on cancellations etc. the info via, texts, website flight departures and what was showing up on terminal boards weren't consistent. ALL I WANTED TO KNOW was what happens to my luggage in this case. My dilemma was ( first time at this airport too) do I need to grab my luggage here to ensure that it gets to LB and/ or go through the trouble of grabbing it and having to stand in more lines to check in at SouthWest. " WILL I HAVE TO COLLECT MY LUGGAGE AT BAGGAGE CLAIM, which meant I'd have to check in with SW and then RE-ENTER the airport through TSA to go to a different " concourse or terminal" AND can I do this before my next flight? I ASKED THREE different Delta employees and got THREE DIFFERENT answers. My final attempt was I did exit to baggage claim and perused the hundreds of pieces of luggage coming off of the belts in no particular order. I also stood in line for about 3 hours( some people had been having issues from the day before so I felt lucky). I had no choice to trust that my luggage would be on the next flight to LB today. They eventually set up a triage of two people helping to track luggage by 2-2:30 pm?. Had they done that sooner maybe there would not have been so long of lines. Maybe create a couple of lines depending on the question. OR place under FAQs on website under BAGGAGE CLAIM. The holidays are coming up. Flights get cancelled, people get will get rebooked. I feel like with regards to baggage claim issues, this has happened before and why isn't there a system in place for this? Hence my 3 STARS. If you get a survey working employees in the front lines the top 5 questions, you can make it a less stressful experience for everyone. The EMPLOYEES were great and you could see they were trying their best despite being overwhelmed. Maybe if the guys who take on and off the luggage had an understanding of luggage protocols in this situation, you would've had at least 5 more employees had baggage claim helping direct them as to what to do. As someone who travels frequently and reviews both from a customer experience and brand perception standpoint, Delta has always struck me as a solid legacy airline--but this particular experience fell short of that reputation. Let's start with the positives: Check-in and gate staff were courteous and tried to manage a stressful situation with patience. The in-flight crew was professional, and Delta's app still offers one of the better user experiences in the industry. However, those efforts were unfortunately overshadowed by a few key issues. First, the delays: Multiple delays with sparse communication left many passengers confused and frustrated. I understand that delays happen, but it's the transparency and proactive updates that build trust--and that part was lacking. Now, let's talk about the cabin experience. Upon boarding, there was a persistent foul odor in the aircraft--not just the typical "well-used plane" scent, but something more unpleasant and hard to ignore. Coupled with extremely tight seating, it made for an uncomfortable few hours. I'm average-sized, and still felt wedged into my seat with little to no personal space. Not ideal, especially when combined with ongoing turbulence and cabin noise that made rest nearly impossible. In short, Delta is capable of better. This flight didn't represent their best effort, but I'm giving three stars because of the professionalism of the staff and the airline's usual reliability. I will NEVER fly Delta again. I had an important meeting to get to in Chicago for work. First, they downgraded me from Comfort Plus to standard when I'm 6'4" and only upgraded because of my long legs. THEN Delta delayed my flight from HNL to SLC by 3 hours and caused me to miss my connecting flight due to a maintenance issue. So they rebooked my SLC to Ohare flight. They moved me from the aisle seat to a MIDDLE seat, and now so far the flight is 3 hours late to board. How do you operate a business so incompetently? I run a business myself. I am involved in computers and will tell this story to every single person that follows me online. Customer service is basically useless and leads you in circles. Only fly Alaskan or Hawaiian. Do not choose Delta at all costs. I will now likely be dumped into the middle of Chicago at night and not even be able to get my rental car in time. NEVER AGAIN DELTA. read more

We had good experiences with our Delta flights into and out of Salt Lake City International Airport (SLC). I've generally had good experiences with Delta everywhere I've flown. SLC is Delta's Rocky Mountain region hub and one of the airline's nine US hubs. The others are ATL (primary), BOS, DTW, LAX, MSP, JFK, LGA, and SEA. Our flight into SLC from Norman Y Mineta San Jose International Airport (SJC) and our flight out of SLC to Raleigh-Durham International Airport (RDU) were on-time or early. Our outbound flight left at 9:55am MT and arrived at RDU at 3:46pm ET, 15 minutes earlier than scheduled. 3 hour 48 minute flight time. We flew on one of Delta's Boeing 737-900ER jets. It was reasonably clean, comfortable, and had everything I wanted when I wasn't sleeping: live TV for news and sports, a big movie and TV library, and both three-prong and USB outlets to power/charge my laptop and phone, respectively. Service was good. The flight attendants were polite. For years, I mainly asked for Biscoff cookies for my in-flight snack (United served them too), but on my last half-dozen Delta flights, I've been opting for Nuts.com almonds, Kate's Real Food Lemon Coconut bars, and the mini bags of SunChips. For my in-flight beverage, I've been getting water, orange juice, club soda, ginger ale, Diet Coke, and Coke Zero (Delta offers both Diet Coke and Coke Zero; maybe no surprise there since both Delta and Coke are Atlanta companies). Delta and United are the two airlines I've flown on the most, by far. Overall, I think they've both been solid. read more

Had a long delay out of Seattle this morning which made me miss a connecting Flight and that flight has now been delayed twice so far. Still waiting. Missed 2 appointment and lost the entire day. I took my wife on a romantic short getaway trip without the kids. I splurged and purchased first class tickets. However, we were denied access into the Delta Sky Lounge at the Salt Lake City Airport. We were informed by the Delta receptionist that the Sky Lounge was only for certain memberships and specific credit card holders! What happened to Delta Airlines' past great treatment of their first class passengers. They have definitely fallen below par in comparison to almost every other carrier out there. I highly recommend skipping Delta Airlines and fly with American, United, or Virgin as their service is amazing and they truly value their higher paying first class customers. read more

D.E.L.T.A = Doesn't Ever Leave The Airport. (And definitely doesn't care once they strand you.) We paid over $5,000 for 4 Delta flights to Japan -- a dream trip 5 years in the making. Here's what we got: * A connecting flight delayed four times for "mechanical issues"... then CANCELLED 10 hours later once no other flights were available. * A $12 food voucher that didn't even cover one airport meal * A moldy airport hotel with no shuttle -- apparently it died of mechanical issues too * Back and forth trips hauling luggage to get transportation to said moldy hotel * Another long wait to get Delta to secure a Lyft that didn't fit our luggage or will to live * Two days of our vacation gone * Hundreds of $ lost in nonrefundable hotel, bullet train, and tour deposits * Rebooked on another airline because even Delta didn't trust Delta * Rude flight attendants on the way home yelling at other passengers like it was boot camp * And after 4 weeks of "reviewing our case"? They offered us an insulting $100 voucher. For more Delta. I wouldn't fly Delta again if it were free, came with a foot massage, and personally apologized by skywriting over my house. Canceled my Delta AmEx and booking literally anyone else from now on... except Frontier. According to my extensive, peer-reviewed study conducted across group chats, late-night rants, and passive-aggressive Yelp scrolls, Delta currently boasts a flight fail rate of approximately 80%, with a confidence interval of ±0% because literally everyone I know has a story. I arrived at Salt Lake City from Portland Oregon at 8:15pm this evening and was supposed to board a connecting flight to Kansas City that would get me home late tonight. Upon arrival in Salt Lake City, I was told that my connecting flight was cancelled and that I couldn't board another flight until roughly 10am tomorrow. That is unacceptable, as I am supposed to pick up my daughter at 9am in Kansas City. I have been trying to get a different flight set up for the last four hours and am no closer to flying home than when I landed here. The delta agents both here at the airport and on the phone have been unable/unwilling to help. Up until midnight there were countless flights leaving here that I could have gotten another flight through, but they piddled around until they had all left. This is inexcusable and unacceptable. With airline travel prices skyrocketing lately, you'd think that airlines would be making more of an effort to provide decent customer service. Yet here I sit, for the second time in four flights over the past 2 months, waiting out another multi-hour unexplained flight delay at Delta's hub airport in SLC. I thought a three hour cushion between my originally scheduled arrival time at JFK and the puck-drop at the Madison Square Garden for tonight's Rangers game would be safe, but not with Delta--that's a wasted hockey ticket. And of course airlines are completely unaccountable for the delays, financial losses and frustration they cause. My recommendation--don't believe those heartwarming and joy-filled airline commercials showing Delta bringing families together and helping to make memories happen. Instead, never rely on Delta to actually take off on schedule, and get you to your destination in time to take part in any of the amazing activities planned with your family/friends. Delta is always reliable! My experience flying Delta has always been positive. I feel like they previously had a bad reputation years ago, but I LOVE flying Delta because it's always a consistent, positive experience. Most flights have TV's with movies, shows, and games. I've had a couple smaller flights that haven't had the TV's but they're usually shorter flights. Every seat has a charger. Ear buds are free for people to use the TV's. The seats are comfortable, the service is always wonderful. We had a delay on our flight recently and the pilot announced that Delta had already rebooked folks that had connecting flights they would be missing. I had a seat that was accidentally changed, and they were helpful and immediately changed it back. WiFi is free for SkyMiles members. SkyMiles members also get 1-2 checked bags for free. It can be a more expensive experience flying Delta compared to some other airlines, however the comfort and ease of knowing what you're getting when you arrive and the wonderful service, I'll fly Delta every single time. read more

Of all the flights I've been on with different airlines, delta has been by far the nicest. I've never gotten anything but coach, but even those seats are plenty comfortable, they each have their own screen with free Wifi for everyone. Delta even provided everyone headphones to be able to take advantage of the screen (which has movies and games) but you also get to keep them. As always, excellent service from the crew of DL1564 on 23 Jun SLC to FLL, DL1047 on 25 Jun FLL to ATL, and DL423 on 27 Jun ATL to SLC to get my brief vacation with my wife in Florida and Georgia going...and getting us home safely. Pleasant gate crew and boarding process, and I REALLY appreciated the SLC gate agents calling for active duty, retirees, and veterans to board earlier than most of the other levels there at the SLC to FLLL gate on the 23rd. Subsequent flights did not call out "veterans" but did call out for active duty service personnel to board early. Still, it was very much appreciated. No issues at all and everything was on time as promised...and our luggage showed up quickly too (if not on the announced carousel in FLL...) But we found it as we followed the crowd. Flew Delta out of SLC today fl 3693. Before boarding in my Zone -- 8 -- they announced no more room in the overhead and all roller bags would have to be checked. Wanting to be cooperative -- never again, by the way -- I did that only to walk into the plane and see an ocean of wide open, empty bins. I politely and immediately asked the flight attendant at the door if I could just turn and get my bag back, steps away at the base of the jetway. She said, "It's too late now." Behind me, people continued to file in with roller bags and stow them overhead. I asked the flight attendant at the rear of the plane if I could retrieve my bag in light of the empty space. He said the empty bins meant nothing -- it was about weight, and if I thought I knew better and didn't want a safe flight ... I sighed and sat back down. For the next 15 minutes people continued to board and load their roller bags into the overhead bins. Once everyone was seated, the second flight attendant announced that there was still room if anyone wanted to put smaller items in the overhead bins. I'll never cooperate again or believe "safety" lectures that obviously function only for the airline's convenience. You've made a formerly cooperating passenger just feel like a sucker. I wasn't keen to have to be visiting the Salt Lake City International Airport for as long as I did, but we managed to fly in from Bozeman and out to San Antonio! The airline did a good job of getting us checked in, our luggage handled and off to our final destination. They were mostly pleasant to us, only getting a bit snippy with other passengers who were doing dumb stuff. The plane was clean, but on this flight from Salt Lake City, the entertainment system didn't work, and neither did the USB plugs. Gah. The airline did deliver us and our luggage to our destination, but we were about two hours late, due to the plane coming in late. Fares just keep climbing, and the service seems to keep declining in this industry. read more

Back in 2002, I started a job that required me to travel frequently. I split my business between Delta and Frontier-because the territory that I covered took me to Denver a lot, and Frontier was based out of that city. But Delta had a hub in Salt Lake City, where I would be flying out of. Over time, I gravitated more toward Delta, to the point where I now fly them exclusively. I've had opportunity to take hundreds of flights over the years-and experienced just about everything that you could imagine. Any time there was a mishap, Delta did whatever they could to make it right. Sure, there were delays, cancellations, poor experiences and problems. But when I look at my travel history as a while, Delta has done me right. I will continue to be a loyal traveler and look forward to my next adventure! read more

Definitely one of my favorite U.S. airlines to fly with now. I'm usually a United or Frontier passenger but with the recent regrowth of travel between Las Vegas and Salt Lake City. Why pass up the chance to travel with a new carrier. I have to admit, Delta airlines really be luring me in with their outstanding service and wonderful fleet of aircraft. I love flying onboard their Boeing 737's. I arrive at SLC and the Delta staff make me feel like I'm apart of a bigger picture of sky travel. Love the Skyteam alliance!! It finally happened. Worst airline experience ever. Delayed flight (3 hours) Missed connection Stuck overnight in SLC Delta's next flight out is 1145 AM next morning. 13 hours after my original arrival time. Had to book completely different airline to make my final destination tomorrow. No hotel voucher can make up for my lost time.
