The wine slushies was honestly one of the highlights for us. It was so good, we each had 2 before we left lol ! The U-pick apple experience was a blast, and the orchard is beautiful, well organized, and family-friendly. We spent hours here between picking apples, browsing the market, and sampling drinks. There is an incredible selection of local products, baked goods, jams, cider, wine, fresh produce, gifts, and souvenirs. Everything looked fresh and high quality, although many of the items are definitely on the pricey side. We also tried both the hard cider and wine flights, which were reasonably priced and a fun way to sample several of their offerings before deciding what to take home. Most of the staff we encountered were friendly and welcoming, and despite the crowds, the overall operation ran smoothly. Unfortunately, what should have been a five-star experience was overshadowed by one concerning incident. After returning from the U-pick orchard on the tractor, we noticed a family parked a couple of spaces away from us. The adults removed a younger child from the vehicle, and it appeared there may have been another child, approximately four years old, still inside the parked vehicle. We fully recognize the seriousness of making that assumption and cannot say with certainty what the circumstances were. However, with temperatures well above 90 degrees, we felt it was far better to report what we observed than ignore a situation that could potentially put a child at risk. What disappointed us most was the response. We informed staff of our concern, yet there seemed to be little to no sense of urgency. Even if it ultimately turned out to be a misunderstanding, I would have expected someone to immediately check on the situation or at least acknowledge the concern and verify that the child was safe. When it comes to a potential child safety issue, I'd much rather see staff respond quickly to a false alarm than risk overlooking a genuine emergency. Despite that experience, Mercier Orchards is still a wonderful destination. The U-pick experience, shopping, cider and wine tastings, and overall atmosphere make it a place I'd recommend to anyone visiting the Blue Ridge area. My hope is simply that management reinforces the importance of treating potential safety concerns with the urgency they deserve. Had it not been for that interaction, this easily would have been a five-star review.

While we didn't order coffee (it was early evening), the prices on the menu were very reasonable. Admission was $10 per person, regardless of age. If you have never been to a cat cafe, the whole point is to socialize with adoptable cats. From what I remember, cat adoption cost here was $125. When we got into the kitty room, there were only three cats out and exploring. Two wanted nothing to do with us and the other was cute and cuddly with another family there. After about 45 minutes, we asked one of the owners how many cats were there and she went to a back room where their litter boxes are housed and she coaxed out a few more cats. They mentioned that there were several kittens being brought in the next day as well. The space was so cute with fun murals, ample seating, and most importantly, lots of comfy spots for the cats to lounge and hidden nooks to explore. There were board games and video games for their human visitors as well as some suckers. Since they are getting rid of the slushy machines, they even offered us free slushies. While there were pics of the cats on the cat condo wall, it was still a tad challenging to tell what each cat's name was. It would be awesome to have names easily visible on their collars and a few more cat toys to play with them. Hope this spot is successful and lots of loving and sassy cats find good homes. :-)

I didn't get the owners name, but she had this bright personality and was very welcoming on opening day. She provided a fun give away and free snacks/beverages for the grand opening. The staff seemed very happy. They had a big smile and they were very polite. Unfortunately, I didn't get to experience the cafe on a day with less people. It was super packed due to it being opening day. I assume in the future it will become less packed so the animals aren't as stressed and there is more room. However, the only thing I would say would be nice, if in the future it is packed, maybe have a room limit that way people can enjoy the time with the cats and the cats don't get stressed out. But the main cat area is really cute. I love the design in the room. The cat hotel / loft is really cute. It allows the cat to retreat to a nice safe place if they want to be left alone. There are lots of seats for you to sit in including a nice comfy couch where you can sit down and enjoy some gaming. While I was there I didn't have a chance to really get a drink. I really wanted to enjoy playing with the cats so I didn't get one. However, a lot of people seem to enjoyed it. The drinks appeared to come out to the customers pretty quickly. They have a decent selection of drinks and snacks. I posted a photo of the menu :)! The entire place was very clean. The restroom was spotless, which is always really nice. The bar where they prepare the drinks seemed very clean and organized. Overall this place is definitely a spot you need to stop at if you are looking to adopt a cat or just enjoy a nice drink and snacks with cats in the area. This is a new business and remember to support them because they are doing a good thing and finding these lovable cats a home :)

I'd wanted to stop several times before, but it's such a small restaurant that we never had enough time to wait. Today we finally got the chance to try it. The restaurant is pretty small with only about six tables. As soon as we walked in, we were greeted and told the wait would be around 30 minutes. We weren't in a hurry, so we decided to stay. They gave us a pager, and we sat at one of the picnic tables outside while we waited. It actually only took about 10 to 15 minutes before our table was ready, which was a nice surprise. I usually look at the menu ahead of time, but I didn't this visit. I was expecting a few more breakfast options, but I ordered the French toast since it's one of my favorites. My brother ordered the pancakes with strawberries and bananas, and we both got a side of bacon. Our food came out pretty quickly. They brought my French toast and our bacon first and let us know the pancakes would be out in just a minute. When they arrived, we were both shocked by the size. Those pancakes were huge! Everything was very good, and the staff was incredibly friendly. The only thing I wasn't a big fan of was the bacon, but my brother actually loved it. That's just one of those things where everyone's tastes are different. Whenever I can, I like supporting locally owned restaurants instead of chain restaurants, so I was glad we finally stopped in. I also appreciated the atmosphere. They had Christian music playing and scripture displayed throughout the restaurant. My faith is important to me, so I enjoyed that touch. It wasn't overbearing or pushed on anyone. It simply added to the welcoming atmosphere.
