So we were in the area and I decided I wanted to visit my old neck of the woods from my college days and we landed at Delta's. Delta's was the ultimate treat as a college student. As such we went for a Sunday brunch ~12:30/1pm and we were absolutely not disappointed! Initially the server felt off putting but as the meal and experience went on the vibe significantly improved. We were made aware of the entertainment fee that is included in our final bill, but the DJ had the best 90s/2000s R&B and hip hop, which made us gladly pay. We sang our hearts out and ordered the most delicious soul food (both the mains and sides)! We had indulgent cocktails and found ourselves there beyond the regular seat timing. We absolutely lost track of time, lost in and enjoyed our experience! I honestly can't wait to go back, but heard the menu is changing so I'm a bit concerned that the change will be drastic.

I went to Delta's for a celebratory dinner on a Friday night and had a very pleasant experience! Our waitress, Amber, was on top of it and extremely friendly and attentive. The restaurant had a nice vibe and although we sat upstairs, the music downstairs was nice as we passed. The food itself was also delicious! I had the beef short ribs, mashed potatoes, asparagus, candied yams and red velvet cake for dessert. My favorite was the candied yams. SO good! I would highly recommend this restaurant and would love to return if I'm ever in the area again.

I've gone to Delta's several times in the past. But I haven't been since before 2020. I went in March as one of the ways to celebrate my birthday. The staff is really nice and accommodating. I was surprised that the meals only come with one side now but I guess that's the sign of the current times. Food wise everything was great as always. My only issue was the entertainment. I wasn't a fan of the live music, it was kind of chaotic. Normally if that was the case at any restaurant, I would ignore it but they charge an entertainment fee on the bill if a live band is playing. I kind of find that a bit absurd especially since I was upstairs and no where near the entertainment, i just could hear it because the audio was booming through the restaurant. But other than that, they are always consistent with the quality of their food which i appreciate.

This place up north was fire. Went here for a birthday dinner but it is worth the drive from Delaware just for don't. Place had a chill vibe with live jazz playing. Man, I tried everything there. The turkey wings were fall off the bone good. The collard green dip was excellent also. Service was on point and she made some excellent recommendations.

The food was good, but most importantly, the energy and the vibe was really good and the service was great. I really liked the environment and loved the music. It was calm and sexy but not dull and boring. The drinks were stiff and the staff was extremely hospitable. I would definitely go back when craving southern food.

This place was jumping for a Thursday night. The DJ was planing all the good music and it was a nice vibe. The party was downstairs and the seating upstairs which was awesome keeping it separate but still being able to vibe. The food was decent. The fried chicken was cooked to perfection and the Mac and cheese was okay. The corn bread I should have taken it home it was sooo good. I will say the service was SLOW. The waiter we had did not give us much attention and it took about 30-40 mins to get our food out. We had to flag him down several times and was severed after another party who sat down after we did. Overall I would come back on a slow day if I'm in the area.

I recently visited Delta's Restaurant in New Brunswick, NJ, and it definitely delivers when it comes to atmosphere and overall vibe. The space is very nice and feels upscale, especially the upstairs area, which has a great energy and feels perfect for a night out. It is the kind of place you go not just to eat, but for the full experience. The service was quick, and everything came out in a timely manner. That said, the restaurant does automatically include a 20 percent gratuity, and you can sometimes feel that the attentiveness is a little less sharp because of the guaranteed tip. They also charge for everything, even cornbread, which you might expect to be complimentary at a Southern restaurant. As for the food, the calamari was hands down the best I have ever had. Perfectly cooked, crispy, and packed with flavor. I would honestly go back just for that. The fried chicken is their signature, and while it was very good and well seasoned, I would not say it beats Popeyes, especially considering the price point. It is definitely solid, but the cost makes you compare it more critically. Overall, Delta's is on the expensive side, especially for Southern food. However, the vibes, drinks, and entertainment make it a great hangout spot. Just keep in mind that entertainment usually comes with an additional charge. If you are going for the atmosphere and a fun night out, it is worth checking out. If you are strictly going for value, you may feel it is a bit overpriced.

This was my first time back at Delta's in New Brunswick since 2023, and I finally tried their oxtail-it was rich, flavorful, and tender, just as I hoped. The vibe was lively with live music, though it was a bit too loud to really enjoy conversation. The service was friendly, but I did feel like they tried to nickel and dime us with extra fees, which was frustrating. We were charged a live music fee, an automatic 20% tip, and when my friend ordered the short rib - which was clearly not freshly prepared- the manager didn't take it off the tab. I am really disappointed, since just a few years ago this place was spectacular. I am unfortunately not coming back.

Pros: - Sunday Brunch menu! A+ - Attentive service - Live music either band or DJ - Bi-level seating - Signature cocktails - Great ambience and decor - Table linens are a bonus - Booth seating available - Great gathering spot for happy hour - Bathrooms are always clean and stocked Cons: - DJ music is typically TOO loud making it a challenge to hear the person sitting beside you, if seated on 1st floor - 20% gratuity is an automatic charge for all tickets, regardless of table size Overall positive vibes and good times at Delta's whenever I go

First time here for brunch and definitely coming back! Ambiance was beautiful and moody. More of a group brunch/dinner place but I didn't get to explore the second level. Absolutely loved the staff - everyone was so helpful with the selection. We tried the red sangria and I've had better but the brandy did peek through so if you're a fan, give it a try. Such good soul food dumplings with the gravy sauce option. The salmon was okay I'll be trying to catfish since it looked delicious but I don't regret the safe option. Dessert was phenomenal. Overall had a great time and good food. Side note: I docked a star because you only have a valet parking option.

Ok let's start by saying the maître.de at the front of the house was rude and highly bothered, I wasn't the only customer who noticed this. But no biggie, everyone is allowed to have a bad day, so I was trying to to let this ruin the meal, especially since it was Mother's Day and all of the other staff seemed very friendly. The ambiance is cute, quaint and cramped, as expected since this wasn't my first visit. Again nothing to ruin a meal/ celebration about. However... the beans tasted like they came out the can. It was supposed to be a sweet jerked chicken but it was giving more of a sweet bbq glaze, but it was good. The yams tasted like they spilled the whole jar of nut meg on them, which was disappointing because they looked amazing but the taste just didn't match up! The appetizer wings were good but chicken that came with the waffle was mid af and seemed like it was cooked with a different batter/ seasoning. The lamb chop lollipops were over cooked but seasoned well. The Mac and cheese looked good but was on par wit chic fil a's.. maybe even Popeyes status tbh. Total let down. Drinks were OK.. like a slight step above mid at best I'm all for gratuity but With %20 gratuity automatically added, for any sized party was weird, Then they ask for additional gratuity on the final receipt. There are No substitutions on the entrees. But you can buy sides that range from $10-14.It was just over priced and weak. Not nasty, not horrible, just weak. I haven't been here in a long time and now I recall why. No disrespect to the establishment but I won't be returning. It was just too lackluster for me and those prices/ demands. I had to put down a credit card to reserve a table, and they also have this disclaimer "Reserving guests has read and agrees to our $8/ person Entertainment Fee, $25 Dessert Fee, and Standard Dining Policies".

The place is so nice and clean. The staff is helpful and welcoming. The food is soooo good! Whenever I'm in the area I will always stop to get some. The mac&cheese was made perfectly that was my favorite along with the sweet potato pie.

I'll start with naming the occasion, my father had taken my family out, to celebrate my and my fiancé's birthdays. We had a reservation, and were seated promptly. The Hostesses were very kind. I had my children with me, and they offered to take and put my stroller away. As we sat down, we were given a few minutes to order, as my father had trouble finding parking outside (they do not have their own parking lot btw). My father and I both ordered the fried catfish with mac & cheese. The fish was great, you could cut it like butter. The macaroni on the other hand, overly salty, I didn't finish it. My fiancé had the barbecue chicken, which he liked...but said it was nothing to phone home about. The restaurant was fairly calm, until the live band started playing. They had a nice set, and I believe they played for at least 30 to 45 minutes. The sweet potato cheesecake was on the house, since it was my birthday. Great, but the end to our evening quickly soured. Not even five minutes into our desserts, we were told that we had TWO MINUTES to finish and leave. Since the party for 8:00 had arrived. I was so taken aback, I just smiled and said "oh okay, sure!". I've worked as a hostess in the past, and have never once come up to a table in that way. I won't give out the waiter's name, but I will say he was male. Glad it was my father paying. He had taken me there once before, for my birthday over a decade ago. Glad to say, they still haven't gotten my money yet! Lol

Dinner was also very good. Just about everyone ordered something different, and we left pretty happy. The only issue was the music. I don't know if this is the case for the entire restaurant, but the downstairs had bouncy ukulele covers for the entirety of our time there. It was also a bit too loud. I felt like I had to get up to hear someone sitting a few people away from me, or speak too loud to for shared space because there's a bouncy ukulele covers of Without You by The Kid LAROI. I don't blame the waitstaff at all, as they are very kind, welcoming, and quick, in my experience. First, the food. The quality is fine, but I always find it a red flag when Asian restaurants are run by non-Asian people and there are no Asians in the crowd. "Authentic Korean" is just entirely not true, but I digress. The wings were quite good but expensive, and some of the menu items are absurd. Over $30 for a simple salmon was high to the point where I couldn't even try it to see if it was worth it. The drinks they have available are only high-end costs at mid end quality. I find a $26 New Jersey Riesling elsewhere more interesting than their $30-$56 selections. The soju and sake are insanely marked up and ridiculously priced. The food also takes quite a while to come out, even when they aren't busy at all. Plus, there's an automatic 20% gratuity charge. This didn't bother me, except for the fact that it is not only applied to food but to karaoke rooms. I found this very misleading. People do not expect to pay a 20% service charge on a room booking. This raised the $160/2 hrs to $192, and they refused to budge on this misleading application of the tip. Today, a group of my friends went to the karaoke room. Yesterday, Friday, May 8th, my friend called and they told him it was $55/hr. Today, it was $80/hr. The strange part is, when we said we weren't expecting the high cost, a man (I'm presuming the manager, but I'm not sure) claimed that no one would ever say that, even though a waitress said just minutes before that it was probably the new guy and she was sorry. Then, the man doubled down and said that yesterday, the charge would have been $55 but today (Saturday) it's $80. This makes even less sense to me because, upon checking afterward, the menu clearly says $55 Monday-Thursday, meaning that Friday would be the same cost as Saturday. So he clearly was lying to our faces that yesterday would have been the lower cost. I tried to verify this on the website, but it's so poorly built and disorganized that I can't even find the karaoke cost. I find this business model very confusing. I have no reason not to believe that lying on the phone + not including information on the website is so that people only choose to book the rooms when already inebriated. I would highly recommend avoiding this place. Support authentic (half the price!!) Korean restaurants instead.

We enjoyed the live music while sitting outside, which made for a great atmosphere. A special shoutout to our server, Maria, who was friendly, attentive, and made our visit even better. We'll definitely be back!

Tavern on the George is a convenient spot to have dinner prior to a show at the State Theater. Make…read moresure you have reservations, especially on theater nights, because it was definitely a popular spot due to their proximity to the theater. The menu is basic bar-gastro-pub type fare. I've been here twice with groups of 6. We've ordered everything from the burgers, to the chicken sandwiches and fish and chips. I ordered a Chicken Caprese sandwich and I enjoyed it the first time. The 2nd time I ordered the Veggie Wrap which I decided to turn into a sandwich. That didn't work so well. The burgers were good too. The items all had the option of fries or salad. All the food was good, except the fish and chips was batter and very little fish. The old school ambiance is really nice. The restaurant has an upstairs and downstairs dining area, each with its own bar. If in the area for a show, Tavern on the George has it down to a science getting all the groups in and out in time. Although, the food is nothing special, I'd come here again.
