Oceano is getting some attention these days. An improved Melodrama and few eateries like Efren's & Sylvester's + Tamales Poblanos -- now there's a coffee shop and roaster in a building that was formerly a defunct Internet cafe. Quintessa's space is amazing and can accommodate small and large gatherings. Bags of coffee beans just shipped are open and available to smell. They have a copper pounded roaster from SF that is really impressive. The bones of this building are really solid. Coffee beans roasted are on display. Everything in the space makes sense. Owner likes to chat it up or he can just expedite -- your time is always respected. I've been in 2X. I am making this place one of my stops when I go to dunes, following Rutiz Farms or when I need an afternoon coffee. Baked goods are from Eclair Bakery in AG. Maybe he can partner up with Spoon Trade's Grover Beach Sourdough for bagels -- Really happy to see a legit coffee shop on the map near my house and all my stops. An independent roaster that serves the best espresso drinks on the central coast! Whenever I am in the Grover Beach area it is a must try. One of my favorite study/chill coffee spots in all of the central coast. The Dirty Chai or the Caramel Macchiato are my Go-To's. read more

Amazing quality coffee. They even sell coffee beans by the 5lb bag which is rare to see and comes out to about $14 a pound which is a great deal. The baristas are so friendly and polite and the ambiance is great. Beautiful space and well decorated. My go to is an iced oatmilk latte, yummy! read more

First visit to this roastery and I will be back. I ordered 12oz of Dark Roast whole beans....a bit pricey at $16, but it was well worth it when I enjoyed my first cup at home this morning. I am looking forward to coming back next time when I hope to try one of their other coffee options on site. read more

Super stoked to find a coffee shop in Oceano, and it seems like they've done a great job! They've got a great location and the shop itself is clean, quiet and nice. Staff are friendly and helpful. I tried a vanilla latte and it was good, and looked like the had some pastry options. Menu is super simple and compliments the simple atmosphere. Definitely stop in if you have the chance! read more

I love getting my morning coffee here weekly , but today I was not impressed with the atmosphere. I ordered a 16 oz. drip coffee and as I was putting cream in my coffee I realized that there was an enormous trail of ants.... no thank you! They were crawling all near the cream and sugar area and there were tons of them on the adjacent wall. I hope they are able to get this issue fixed but dont know why theyd stay open with this kind of problem, just disappointing. read more

Great espressos and decent bakery items. I'm not a coffee drinker but this was one of the best tasting chai (Dirty Chai) I've tasted. Children inhaled the cinnamon bun and gluten free blueberry scone was decent (good for gluten free, but lacking texture of flour based scones). read more

What a relaxing and charming stop on a Saturday, mid afternoon drive through Oceano. The delicious pour over coffee, with the medium house-roast, was exactly the caffeine pause-that-refreshed-and-revived us weary travelers. The owner is friendly and we all had a good chat. The company focuses on small-batch, specialty coffee: high quality, organic, fair trade, traditionally grown coffees from around the world. The roasting company serves coffee also as a small coffee house. Plenty of seating available but prices for drinks are not really listed. Some pastries available including some gluten free coffee. Hot and iced drinks are really delicious and you can taste the difference with the fresh roasted beans. Smooth taste, no acidity! They don't roast more that 25 pounds of coffee at a time to ensure freshness. Coffee preparation takes a little bit longer but seating options are available and there are merchandise options you can check out: caps, shirts, coffee and local art displayed.
