My experience was a little disappointing, which is not something I usually write about because I prefer to leave reviews for places I love. I placed a very simple order and it was made incorrectly-twice. Mistakes happen, and I truly understand that. The second time, though, is usually where a business has the opportunity to turn things around and leave a great impression. Unfortunately, that didn't happen here. The overall vibe made me feel uncomfortable going back a third time to try to get it fixed. For a $7 item from a straightforward menu, I would expect it to be correct by the second attempt. That said, I don't think this reflects bad intentions-just a moment where things didn't come together the way they should have. I'm sharing this not to be harsh, but in hopes it's helpful for both the business and future customers. I really do want to support local spots, and I hope this place improves because it has potential. read more

In a standalone building along West Grand Avenue in Arroyo Grande...not far from the border of Grover Beach. - Ambiance: Casual. You can pull up to the drive thru window or park in a space and walk to the take out spot in the back. The "back" also has picnic tables and space for kids to run around. - Menu: Extensive. The usual hot and cold drinks, but also some unusual ones...plus several grab and go entree type things for breakfast or lunch and a number of pastries. - Service: Always friendly. The young women I've seen were all very nice. - Price and Value: Reasonable. Decent prices - especially if drinks are done properly. - Parking: Okay. You might need to find a space by Adventist Health behind Nova. Cons: - Drinks: Mediocre. I've visited 5 times and ordered the same thing: "Extra hot...extra foam...1/2 sweet". One was very good, 3 were so-so and 1 was bad. The problem? They carefully recorded my request (which I always repeat) so either they don't read the information...don't take the time to do it properly.....or don't know how. Most were lukewarm with minimal foam and too sweet. The best drink was made when it was done by the same woman who took my order. We don't live in the area but we come down to AG once in a while and this is the 3rd time we've had an experience we weren't quite happy with! :( It seems convenient enough, the location and drive thru but we visit on Sunday's within the hour that they close and it just seems like everybody's in a rush to close down. Some of the girls are nice, others seem like they're not interested in the business because they want to leave. Often times they've ran out of food. We've been doing keto based coffee's and the cold brews are weak, while when we request heavy cream, they put so much in that you can't enjoy it. So one cold brew was pretty weak with little flavor and my heavy cream coffee was all cream. We ended up leaving and having to go mix the coffee's together to tolerate it. I think, even though a customer is pulling in within an hour of closing, everybody should be treated like their funds and coffee matters. Going forward we are going to try some other places - we might have to get out of the vehicle and go into a coffee shop to get decent coffee but at least we know that our money is well spent. I hope in case we try to come back that this review is read and taken to heart. Also, for the others that may want to enjoy a nice coffee on a Sunday afternoon. read more

Parking: small, there's also a drive thru. Actually a pleasant surprise. Came a long way up from LA to head to Pismo and had this place as a pitstop. First things first is the pricing is very good. Coming from LA I'm paying almost 20-30% more for the same size drinks. Had one of the seasonals with the vanilla foam and it was absolutely delicious. Friends also commented on how the pricing was really good and the pastries were great. Loved that they had a bathroom and the area itself is really nice. Great ambiance. Such a cute little coffee spot! We grabbed nova a couple times while in town this week. Convenient takeout window for picking up coffee on the go. If you'd like to sit and enjoy your coffee and a pastry, they have a (gated in aka toddler parents dream) grassy/dirt area with tables, some toys, and a handmade car/ball track. This kept our toddlers attention long enough for us to grab a bite and finish out coffee. I tried a few things throughout the week and their coffee isn't spectacular and can range on the sweeter side. I would recommend it overly sweet coffee isn't your thing, definitely order your drink half sweet. All of the drinks I tried throughout the week were good, but not spectacular if you're a true coffee enthusiast. We also got the chorizo burrito which was something I probably wouldn't get again. Overall, if you're looking for a decent coffee spot where you can sit down and enjoy your coffee while your kids play, this is the spot! read more

FOOD: Surprisingly filling and delicious breakfast burrito. I was expecting the pinto beans to be dry and make the rest of the burrito feel dry but no. The salsa was a delicious addition. At first I thought it was all going to be egg in the bite and a tiny bit of sausage but each bite had eggs, sausage and beans! I would definitely get this again. SERVICE: Super nice employees. Patient and quick even with long lines it was fast paced but did not sacrifice the quality of food and drinks. AMBIANCE: It's a drive thru type of a coffee shop. They do have a "coffee garden" if you will behind the shop that you can sit at and enjoy your coffee and breakfast. Sometimes they do have little events/meet up in this area. Parking can be tricky if you do want to stay and enjoy your order that way. Creative seasonal specials. Candy cane jitters was delicious. I was worried that it might be more milk than cold brew in my coffee but it was a perfect blend. I taste the coffee and just the perfect hint of the peppermint. I love a good drive through coffee spot and Nova Coffee did not disappoint. Located in Arroyo Grande, Nova has a lovely, and quite large, outdoor seating area which is perfect for those coastal summer nights! My iced latte was quite delicious. They have a variety of burritos, as well as pastries, bagels, and even local cinnamon rolls. The service was wonderful, and even the logo on the cups is so sweet, and such an adorable little touch! This was last year's review but I took it down as they removed the sales tax, and I haven't been by since June 2025, but when I ordered online today, the sales tax is back! "I really like the coffee here however I was not aware they charge sales tax. I had a couple questions on some recent charges and was explained that there is a sales tax applied. If you order online though, there is no tax applied so it is a bit confusing and I was under the impression that coffee is a non taxable good, especially if it is to go." A 12 ounce latte is $7.50. I'm not thrilled about that, or I would make this my regular coffee shop. Compared to the corporate giant we all know, priced at $4.75, it's a conscious choice to support local to choose Nova. Sadly, I was so hyped about coffee and a cinnamon roll, but my latte had sour half and half and my cinnamon roll was stale and extremely hard (microwaved to death). The plastic knife was struggling and a prong from the fork broke off trying to pull it apart. Maybe just an off morning, not sure. We got the monkey bread muffin and two matchas, one with blueberry and oatmilk and the other with strawberry cold foam. The matcha was very green, wasn't grainy and tasted delicious, it was too good to gatekeep. The muffin was also very good and a large portion size. They do offer other milks. And a iced chai (taste amazing - like a delicious cookie) We order a couple drinks and burritos. Everything we had tasted great. Small location, very convenient off the highway maybe a 2 min drive Into town. Great service this morning on a Sunday. We saw they recently had a break in and wanted to come out and support. Support local family business! They have a great selection of breads, coffees, breakfast burritos. We ordered a white mocha, mocha, the cha cha coconut milk iced, burrito and got some of the Cinnamon rolls as well. Great place to come with the little ones as it's closed off in the back or your pet. Overall nice place! read more

YUCK! Disgusting WASTE OF MONEY!! We were enjoying our summer vacation traveling from Pasadena and stayed in pismo for a week, we decided to look on yelp for some coffee spots that looked interesting. This place had all the aesthetics and looked like it might be good, we ordered two iced coffees (which tasted like watered down milk! No flavor what so ever not even basic expression or coffee flavor just tasted like watered down milk) and we also ordered a breakfast burrito (which also tasted like trash , it was a huge let down because I really wanted to like this place, THE BREAKFAST CHORIZZO BURRITO I ORDERED HAD STALE BEANS IN IT AND SOME DISGUSTING UNSEASONED MUSH THEY CLAIM IN "CHORIZO" BUT IT DID NOT LOOK OR TASTE LIKE IT, it looked like wet dog food and the "Hashbrown" was all mushy tasteless and just a mess....PLEASE save your time and money and go elsewhere....... Recently tried Nova for the first time and absolutely loved it! The service is so friendly and upbeat, and they have unique drink offerings that are hard to choose between! I can't remember the name of the drink I tried ‍ (something about reindeer I think) but it was a seasonal drink topped with nuts and it was SO good! My daughter also loved the hot chocolate, and she's quite particular about her hot chocolate . Their outdoor space is also so awesome!! This is my favorite matcha spot! Very friendly staff and my lattes are always consistent and taste the same each time.

First time here and we unfortunately had not the best experience. When we arrived there was a women that was cleaning the tables outside (I believe the owner) and we said hi, not the other way around. The girl that took our order was also very quiet not too approachable. My husband got a latte and it didn't taste good at all. Very watered down and the little taste of coffee was burnt. I got a regular coffee and I'm not mad about it. That's one of the stars. However I do use my own protein creamer so I'm not sure if it would have been good without it. The burritos weren't bad, the bacon seemed more like a ham but it wasn't bad just not what we expected. We have a one year old and they have a large lot in the back with toys and she was very happy about it. She was having a blast until the venders that were setting up told us we need to move because they'll be using the wall where the toys were and they don't want the kids to get hurt.... Really? So We left. Just being honest with my reviews. Ok coffee and it was convenient to have a kids area. Not sure we'd go back. read more

So I'm always on the look out for a good Veggie Burrito. I had not been able to find one in Five cities. Until I went to Nova! It has spinach to! I love spinach! And I swear the Pinto beans give it a really nice meat taste to it so I didn't miss that. I told the very nice lady taking my order that I was so glad they had spinach because I needed to boost my Potassium up. She said "Well then lets get some extra spinach in there for ya." So nice!
