I love getting my morning coffee here weekly , but today I was not impressed with the atmosphere. I ordered a 16 oz. drip coffee and as I was putting cream in my coffee I realized that there was an enormous trail of ants.... no thank you! They were crawling all near the cream and sugar area and there were tons of them on the adjacent wall. I hope they are able to get this issue fixed but dont know why theyd stay open with this kind of problem, just disappointing. read more

Going on a tip from the local sourdough bread bakery we headed over to Deltina. Very nice place. These guys roast their own beans on site so you know the coffee is going to be super fresh and good. I gave the Boardwalk blend a try. It was a good balance of medium intensity, a little hint of sweetness, and overall super smooth and tasty! I purchased a bag so I could enjoy it at home. read more

Coffee is a very serious matter to me. And this is a very serious (but friendly) coffee roaster. I judge coffee by the quality of a pour over without cream (or sugar). The poppy roast is one of my favorites. You really can taste the flavor profile of caramel, chocolate, and pear. The cold brew here is really well balanced. Strong yet is great without anything added to it. Even with an added shot of espresso it's great plain. The staff is super friendly and helpful. Great place for getting a cup of coffee and buying beans for home. read more

The coffee is wonderful and I believe they roast their beans right there! The smell is amazing! There is a cute sitting area outside where you can sit and visit or do some homework/work while enjoying your cup of wonderful. The only very slight downside was the obvious tension at our large group of family and friends, other than that it was fantastic. read more

I have passed by this coffee shop many times and today I finally went in. I ordered a latte with oat milk and it was absolutely one of the best cups of coffee I have had! I also bought a bag of coffee and I can't wait to try it tomorrow morning. All of the beans are roasted on site and the freshness is evident in the taste. I want to make it clear that I know nothing about coffee. I have been to Starbucks a few time but it was mostly to eat the whipped cream on their cold drinks. I've passed this location twice a day, every day for the last 13 years on my way back and forth to Oceano Beach where I run on the sand dunes with my Chihuahua. That's the beach where they allow rednecks from the valley drive all sorts of strange vehicles on it. There have been several businesses at this location over the years and have all failed. Anyway, last week I was passing by and for some reason stopped and decided I needed to know what was going on inside the place. I don't know if the glass is tinted or what but you can't tell what's going on inside from the street. They have their own parking lot or you can park on the street. The "street" is actually a historic portion of the Pacific Coast Highway. So, if your taking the scenic route between San Francisco and Los Angles you pass it. It's just two blocks from the Melodrama Theatre which I haven't been to either. So, I walked into the shop and it was really nice. There was some kind of a thing roasting coffee (whatever that was) and the place was clean and had that homey type look. HIgh ceilings for that uncramped look. I decided I'd take a run at a cup of coffee but I really didn't know what to order. Sergio, the Burgermeister or coffee maker, I forgot what the name is, oh, Barrister, no Barista, recommended a drink. He was very helpful and understanding of my coffee deficit disorder. I ordered what he recommended, don't know what it was called. I watched him make the drink and saw him put two shot glasses with a brown liquid into the whatever it was he was making. I got it to go because I'm not into "hanging", but if I was, I could hang there. There are no snobby types in our area and you can feel at home. I drank the coffee while headed home and gave my dog some. I pour her portions of drinks in a small square hole in the car console. She has to try everything I do. By the time I got home ( 5 minutes) I was so high that my feet weren't touching the floor. My Chihuahua, "Chika" was running in circles talking in tongues. I got three weeks of laundry done, vacuumed the house, mopped the floors, cleaned up the papers all over my office, made 8 phone calls and made 27 comments on Facebook. I didn't get to bed until midnight. So, whatever their putting is those drinks is something special and apparently legal. Check the place out, it's an Oasis in a town that has never quite made it commercially. I'll be back, but not soon. I'm still recovering. I think I'll have tea next time if they are willing to put whipped cream on it. Don't forget to check out the beach, there's a section where they don't allow cars. If your into Melodrama, and apparently a lot of people are, because there are cars parked all over the place when they have a show, look for a copy of "High Times Magazine"...whoops, "New Times Magazine", they always have a discount coupon. And remember, no littering. read more

I've been coming here for a couple of months now. This is now my favorite coffee place in the area. The owner Jack I believe is his name is very friendly. In general all the baristas are very nice. The wait time for drinks isn't long at all which is nice. I have never had a bad experience here. I also like the setting of inside it's nice and peaceful here. They also have a nice seating area with some small board games. There is also a section for cold drinking water which is nice to have available. I talked to the roadster for about 15 minutes and then met his wife - turns out they are the owners! Delicious coffee and pastries. First time in I ordered a mocha. I was asked which of 3 chocolate choices: Mexican chocolate, dark chocolate, or traditional. I was sold even before I tasted them!! I've had Mexican chocolate and dark chocolate. Very bold and full bodied. They know what they're doing. Most patrons getting takeout, but also several tables for sitting. They do their own roasting and grinding, and it looked like a fair amount of their business is for taking home to brew. A little off the beaten path, but well worth it. read more
