a plate of french toast with strawberries and bananas
    Chevy R.

The service was good, I called ahead to assure they were open for business, they answered energetically and promptly. They are allowing dine-in with social distancing, the staff do not wear masks however. I was self seated immediately. To began, the Au Lait was very good, the whip cream seemed light but add a little sugar & it was perfectly served in a nice portioned round mug. For my entree, I ordered the smaller version of the French Toast but learned once it came out that the small version is plain, they gladly fixed it. The regular size (4) is enough for 2 ppl. They are very heavy with the cream cheese filling. It's loaded w fresh bananas and strawberries. As we all know French Toast are typically al a carte so I ordered a side of turkey sausage. They were dry and $5 for two patties is steep, perhaps $3.89 is feasible.

This little gem on Taylor St really deserves your attention. The food is amazing and the staff are extremely friendly. I will admit, if you are in a rush, then this place is not for you. Food is prepared to order & anyone eating here is appreciative of the laid back atmosphere. Definitely try the "Sams" plate... so freakin good!

The service is so good, they're all very respectful and friendly. The food & vibe of the place is wonderful. I'm not sure what espresso they use for the mochas but it's delicious, as well as the teas. I really recommend the raspberry matcha tea, either hot or iced is great. A lot of seating options

This cafe is cute & cuddly. I got the window sear and enjoyed people watching over a good hot cup of coffee and homemade scone. Tried the reese's pb cup but will have to come back for the oatmeal chocolate chip and possibly some eggs too. #ilivechicago

Despite its small size, this place knows how to rock breakfast! Don't be fooled if this place isn't packed. It is down the street from a few well known breakfast joints, but I think Demitasse is great. It may take a while to order your food or it can be very quick. It depends on staff. I've dealt with both before and sometimes you just have to roll with the punches and be patient. They do have coffee drinks that they make with care, usually the owner is around to talk to, really nice guy. Frittatas are pretty good (Open-face omelet served with house potatoes) At first it doesn't seem like a lot of food, then when you start, your belly fills. I am not a fan of their french toast with sweet cream and strawberries. It is a bit too tart for me (diabetic) and there is a lot of cream they put in between the toast. If you are looking for somewhere with a seat and cheap, give this place a try. In the winter, this place is great to get warm drinks at.

This place is great for breakfast. They have the best stuffed french toast. They are moderately priced.

The worst service I have ever had at a restaurant. The entire staff didn't acknowledge us, walked out after ten minutes of no service.

I like their coffee and food, but I barely ever get to go there because they close so early!

We ordered a drink and later then came back when all the other floors were opened. Each floor has their own specific menus but some of them have the same bakery items all around. We ordered the pistachio croissant 5/5, not too sweet, was fresh, crispy, and flaky all around. Egg and cheddar breakfast sandwich 3/5-egg was super fluffy and bun soft and it was filling but wasn't anything mind blowing. Crispy hash brown cup 1/5- no flavor or seasoning at all. Herb croissant-3/5 pretty decent. Service and hospitality were great, had a staff member come up to us and ask us if we were enjoying everything. Overall I thought it was a cool place with a ton of tables on every floor, looked really cool inside, awesome there are only a few in the world. Aesthetically pleasing And photo worthy. A little pricey for what they serve. But regardless, Got marked off the bucket list. Very unique inside. Be aware they do not have the typical Starbucks drink menus.

There was already a small line of guests with the same idea, but we were able to get on the waitlist. While waiting, we checked out the small coffee shop inside the gallery and browsed the furniture, which helped pass the time. Our wait was about an hour before being escorted to our table in the courtyard. Initially, we were placed at a low coffee table with couch seating. It's a cool lounge style setup, especially for drinks, but not ideal for a meal. It would have been pretty awkward trying to eat comfortably. We asked to be moved and were told that table preferences should be requested when joining the waitlist. Since it was my first time visiting, I wasn't aware of that, and it also wasn't asked by the hostess. Thankfully, they were able to accommodate us and moved us to a table in the wine cellar. The wine cellar had a completely different vibe, dark and moody, compared to the bright, airy courtyard with its beautiful glass ceiling and natural light. We ordered the lobster roll and the RH Burger, both with fries. The food came out fairly quickly and was well-presented. The lobster roll was served on a buttery brioche with just the right amount of seasoning, and the burger was juicy and flavorful. Overall, I had a great experience and would definitely visit again.

Unfortunately for us we were a table for 3 and despite having mad that reservation weeks in advance were placed in what was obviously just 2 two tops pushed together. And not in the main atrium area. Look it was still a beautiful atmosphere and our company made it a lovely evening. Why don't they have a liquor license here? Ok the food. The burrata salad, so nice and summer fresh. We also had the crispy artichokes meh. What saved my night was the chicken salad. The crispy bits...amazing all through the salad. So good. Let's talk dessert, the butterscotch crème brûlée so good. Coffee and a port wine.... Good, but where is the cheese board. This place would benefit from real liquor and a desert cheese board. I mean I must believe that RH has a cheese board on offer somewhere. Anyway, nice evening and decent food in a mostly lovely place.
