The bus was very nice and our driver/guide was great - she was very talkative and told us so much about the park, wildlife, and nature. She also did a great job spotting all the wildlife and taking plenty of time to allow us to watch the highlights, including bears, moose, birds, and the beautiful scenery. Unfortunately there's an early turn-around point due to a bridge that is being replaced, but we still felt that we got to see more than enough. Highly recommend.

Our vacation depended on the car since we were also planning to go to Denali National Park as part of our vacation. When we called our hotel in Denali for suggestions, they said there is a taxi shuttle service that is able to drive us around the area. The recommended Denali Taxi Shuttle, a company owned and operated by a husband and wife duo, Mike and Sumariam. I called them from Anchorage and set up our pick up times. Sumariam, whom answered the phone, was very lovely to talk to and had many good suggestions. In fact, she even told us about a restaurant that gave cheaper shuttle rides if we did not mind walking a little. The price they charged for each ride was decent ($35 for a trip from our hotel in Healy to the park), but beggars cannot be choosers. The cost per ride is also clearly posted on their website. On each ride, Mike and Sumariam were very courteous and had a lot to talk about life regarding the area. They were also very punctual and even early for all the pick up time. When I came home, I noticed a discrepancy in my credit card statement. We had 4 rides at a total cost of $140, but we were charged $180. I called Sumariam and she took care of the problem right away and refunded the $40 immediately. Great service from great people. TIP: Know what time you need the ride and give them a call a day or two beforehand. Unlike regular taxis, they do not drive around looking for passengers. It is all prearranged.

Hourly shuttle service was available,…read moreproviding transportation to Grande Denali Lodge, Denali National Park Visitor Center, and Tesoro Gas Station at Downtown Denali. Though one has nice views at the Mountaineer Grill/Bar inside the hotel property, the food was overpriced. Other restaurants/food options are at Downtown Denali which can be a 15-25 minute walk depending on the restaurant, if you opt not to take the shuttle. Our room had cobwebs. The brown cover sheets were unattractive and gave a less clean and less luxurious feel to the already dark room. Wi-fi did not work at the room which was super frustrating (looking at other reviews, wi-fi appears to have been a problem since at least 2022). To add to all of these, there was power outage in Denali for at least 3 hours. The hotel did not have a generator so there was no electricity or water. The day before the power outage, the heating in the room and water was not a problem. There was no microwave oven in the room. Overall, the experience was disappointing.
