We would appreciate getting this done in a timely manner. I can't believe nobody has called me back, I guess they would rather take advantage of the grief than prearranged death that contains no pressure on love ones. They had a couple comfort animals running around and a staff member was always unobtrusively available. They made a wonderful slideshow out of the pictures we gave them. Digitized everything. The most touching part was a display they made, we had discussed interests, hobbies and such. They made a whole display out of the things we talked about with some pictures added on.

I ordered a beautiful spray of flowers to be delivered, and when the flowers arrived, the funeral home sent the flowers back because they are not what they wanted. Even though it was the family's wishes for an full open casket, hours before the showing, they closed half of the casket and told us they would never leave it open (even though that is what we were told and planned). When confronting the problem, the owners were very disrespectful. Therefore I beg you to please avoid this place. Go someplace else and say your goodbyes and prayers at a funeral home that will take care of your wishes. This place ruined saying goodbye to a very special family member.

The staff have been wonderfully kind and understanding. They walked us through the process from beginning to end answering every question. They helped take care of the obituary and other necessary paperwork. They never pressured us into anything more than what our beloved wanted and even went above and beyond to get the color casket we wanted. They even allowed arrangements for a family member to see her early. They set up a minister to come do a short service after the viewing. The home is warm and 'cozy' and not stuffy like some places I have been. They took extra precautions with Covid related issues so that we could have the maximum people and still be within the rules. Their prices seemed very fair and they go through everything so you never feel taken advantage of with something unexpected. In this time of sorrow it was nice to feel like someone genuinely cared and had the means to actually help in this helpless situation.

My husband, who was a Viet Nam vet and later went on to work at and retire from VA in Buffalo, had what I'm sure he would have loved. The veteran and national honor provided was wonderful. I mentioned(and others agreed) that this was the perfect place for him to be remembered. The staff took care of everything down to the smallest detail to make this difficult time manageable and as stress free as was possible under the circumstances. They made sure every detail was done to our satisfaction and answered any questions we may have had. They offered advice and suggestions when requested, and we were unsure as to what to do but never pushed anything on us . Planning the final remembrance for a loved one is never easy but Lakeside showed compassion and professionalism throughout the entire time.
