He is kind, compassionate, thoughtful, an amazing listener, true to his word, down to earth and a great guy. He was so comforting through the unimaginable grief our family has endured by losing both parents so close together. If you could call a wake perfect in every way--that is how we can explain what they did for my Mom. We were in the celebration of life room which has tables and chairs decorated personally and beautifully, coffee, tea, pop and water are readily available in the room and we were able to celebrate my Mom's life which was such a comfort to all who attended and especially for my young nephews. Mark was also amazing with our Dad's wishes of just being cremated and nothing else. This was very hard for the family to accept but we knew we needed to abide by his final wishes. My grandfather purchased his gravesite for himself and my grandmother back in the 1970s and it was natural that he and grandma would be buried at Acacia Park. However, my mother transitioned and her ashes will be placed with my grandparents and I received the most noble care. I felt like I was with family. I can't express my gratitude enough. From coordinating church service, military honors with flag presentation and a bronze plaque at his gravesite for Veterans to the flowers on my father's casket (gorgeous white lilies and ranunculus) it was beautiful and understated. Our family didn't feel rushed or pressured at the wake or the service and burial. The most interesting feature in my opinion is that there are no gravestones at all; the only markers are metal plates that are flush with the ground. The workers were accommodating for anyone to speak up, come early for private viewing and plenty of water and tissues readily available for public use. The viewing room we were in was rather small but perfect for the small family crowd we had. I appreciated having a somewhat private room across the hall for those moments where you need a minute to be alone. The parking lot was small and became a bit of an issue during peak times. Also, because it's on the corner of several main roads, it's easy to pass if you aren't familiar with the area or to get lost in the tops plaza behind it.
