Love shopping here! I have purchase my favorite pieces of clothing here ! It's a true gem !

Paid 100 to have the collar restored on my denim jacket. It was pricey but worth it since I wear this jacket a lot. I am VERY impressed by the restoration! My before picture was taken way before the repair so the collar was very frayed by the time I took it in (I just forgot to take a photo). I was expecting the repair to be noticeable but you can hardly tell, they blended and matched the threads really well.

I am kind of confused by the store They were run by a bunch of stuff who were clearly maybe over certain ages, so they r kind of lacking of the enthusiasm to show u the pieces or greetings How about just retire then? Seems like some famous people stopped by before when the owner still have the passion and strength to walk u through everything I gave them 4 stars due to I want to show some respect for their ages

I was originally going to give them a 2 star review, but their outstanding work quality prevents me from doing so. I came here in 2017, as a visitor in LA, to get custom distressing done on a jacket and they did it flawlessly and within a week's time. I came here again last month, as an LA resident, to get custom distressing on a denim shirt and to replace the sleeves on another dress shirt. Once again, they were perfectionists. Top Shelf. You couldn't even tell that the clothes were worked on. So...why the low score? 1) This recent time it took nearly 3 weeks to get my clothes back, despite an original quote of 10 days. When i would call to get a status, it would turn into phone tag. The "I'll call you back" never resulted in contact back. 2) Not honoring yelp 10% check in discount on alterations. When I asked for this discount, they said they don't honor it and haven't done so in 5 years. If so, then why is it STILL listed on the yelp page? Bait? Overall, this place offers superb work coupled with abhorrent customer service. I probably wouldn't come here to alter any of my high-end clothing. But for anything else? Like clothing you got on sale or clothing laying around that you wouldn't mind customizing and possibly not seeing anytime soon then sure.

Denim revival did such a great job on all of the items i brought in! Anna is literally one of THE SWEETEST humans i have ever met. I'm sure their whole team is exactly the same! I had a pair of expensive linen pants that were a gift and several sizes too large and she managed to make them absolutely perfect. If you need alterations done, I cannot stress enough, this is your place. Thank you so much, Anna - cannot wait until next time!

Aika (second from the left) was tapered to match measurements of Dry Bones (furthest on the left) with a bit more thigh/seat room.

I was able to wear my Aika denim for 2 years with great results, and they are still wearable to this day. They were my second pair of selvedge denim, and I have since moved onto many other pairs! I had them professionally repaired elsewhere, but wanted to update on the end result. Thanks again Denim Revival!

I had the pleasure of buying a pair of jeans from this genius of tailoring. The cuts she made were next level! I can't believe how she breaths new life into something so simple. I totally recommend denim revival to anyone looking to take it to the next level. Old school know how taking to the max

    Sloppy stitching

I'm so disappointed with my recent experience here. I brought in a brand new pair of pants for a simple hem. Over the past few years I've had them hem and taper many pairs of pants and have never had an issue, but his time was absurdly bad. I picked up my pants and after I got home I noticed the sloppiest stitching. Maybe they thought they could get away with it because it was black stitching on black fabric, but they didn't get away with it because it looked like crap. Then I noticed the holes! Sloppy stitching can be fixed, but holes in a fresh pair of pants?! What's that about? I brought them back in hoping they'd offer to reimburse me for the ruined pants, or at the very least reimburse me for the $31 hem. No such luck. She told me that the pants came with the holes - lying to my face like I'm an idiot. I very calmly explained to her that if the pants had existing holes I would have seen them. She tried to convince me they are a 'distressed' style of pants, which they're definitely not. We reached an impasse, since she refused to take any responsibility for her shoddy work. She even has the audacity to tell me that if she HAD accidentally put holes in my pants she would have patched them up and I never would have known (I still would have known). She offered to "fix" the mystery holes and made it seem like she was doing me a big favor. The owners have absolutely no integrity or respect for their repeat customers. Will update when I get my ruined pants back.

    After repair.

I'll find one pair, fall in love, wear to death for 4-6 months, and then the crotch wears out.

Raggedy Threads is my favorite vintage store in L.A. - no contest. Don't let this tiny little store…read more- located in a tiny little corner of Little Tokyo - fool you: It's like a treasure trove of rare finds. I've been on a huge vintage kick lately, so this store has been my go-to source for old tees. My reasons for going vintage are primarily environmental since the carbon footprint and resources needed to make new clothes are substantial - and incredibly wasteful when there's so much awesome used clothing out there. Another reason: Your friends can't copy your style. Most recently, I picked up a few tees from the 1970s and 80s. Being in L.A. they get a lot of local and California vintage shirts with logos, designs, and jokes that only true Californians would get. I couldn't resist buying a Castroville "Giant Artichoke" tee they had over the summer. Personally, I tend to gravitate towards regional finds like these because they bring back such great memories of my youth and of family road trips up and down my home state. They also carry old college (Go Bears!), high school, and everyone's favorite - summer camp tees. Plus, you cannot beat the vintage fit from the 70s/80s. Caveat: Today's "S" is equivalent to an "M" or bigger because people were presumably thinner back then. So do your part for the environment and look effortlessly stylish doing it by shopping used and vintage! And there's no better place in L.A. for this than Raggedy Threads.
