I took the day off work and moved furniture and made all of the necessary preparations for the installation. The day before the scheduled installation, I called to confirm that everything was still on schedule, as I had not received a follow-up confirmation. I spoke with the owner, Kim, and simply asked that the installers wear shoe covers/booties when entering my home. I consider this a reasonable and common courtesy when workers are coming into someone's home, especially when furniture is being moved onto brand-new carpet. Unfortunately, Kim's response was extremely unprofessional and dismissive. She told me that the installers were "not pigs" and would not be wearing booties. When I explained that I was uncomfortable with people walking through my home with outdoor shoes and then stepping onto the new carpet while moving my furniture, she stated that she was too busy to deal with it and immediately refunded my deposit and canceled my order. While I appreciate that my deposit was refunded promptly, the situation was extremely frustrating. I had taken an entire day off work, moved my furniture, and prepared my home, only to have the installation canceled the day before. I was then forced to start over and order through a larger commercial company. Weeks later, I still do not have my carpet. Unfortunately, this experience left me feeling that the customer service and professionalism were lacking. I understand that not every business can accommodate every request, but I believe there was a much more professional way to handle a simple and reasonable concern. Do not recommend. I was pleased with his communication and VERBAL price do I decided to just go with him. He promised a formal quote and we set an install date. Prior to the date I asked again for a formal quote with no reply. During install, he asked what he provided as a verbal quote and I replied. At the end of install, the final number was higher than the verbal quote. He had several excuses which I reminded him we discussed when he first came. He then said, well it took longer than I planned. I paid with no argument. My approach is to never do business with a company again if they take advantage of me. Point is, until Skip's returns to employing their own installers, I will never buy flooring from them again.

During her management of our $40,000 kitchen project, Selma interacted very poorly with the contractors she selected, resulting in a number of delays and problems. We waited on materials for weeks or months that Selma had ordered incorrectly or used at the wrong stage of the contract. We never had a clear understanding of where our money was, or when our project would be done. We signed a contract with an estimated finish date of July 20th, 2018. Now, in mid-October 2018, we're still waiting on the project to be completed. We fired Selma last weekend due to her complete inability to keep a project on time or produce quality outputs. Selma is very reliable at one aspect of her job, however - she can consistently be relied upon to ask for more money. I will absolutely not recommend Selma to anyone for actual project work. If you simply need a design, give her a try. If you actually need someone to build anything, hire someone else.

There is no follow-up or callback when leaving messages or needing questions answered. The floors and carpet have been installed for over a month. They had to come back out to requote the stairs that we had already paid to be sanded and turned out like crap; been over three weeks still waiting. After follow-up call number two last Friday(5/16), I was told the treads came in, and I should get a call on that day or Monday.
