Before my trip into Manhattan, I snagged or banged the ring (which I had been wearing on my middle finger) and the gallery cracked and bent. I'm still not sure exactly what I did or how it happened (I'm a klutz!), but I was very upset. When I arrived at the store, I showed Dennis and the ladies what had happened and they told me to go have lunch and come back in a couple of hours. So I did, and in under three hours I had my ring back. The diamond had been put in a brand new setting that not only fit beautifully, but was a bit thicker and sturdier than the previous one (which, at my request, had been very, very thin and delicate). One of the girls had me laughing when she pointed out (with a wink) that this meant that now the accent diamonds on the shank were larger, as well! They did not charge me for any of the work or for the new setting. Not a cent. I am a Wedding & Event Planner by trade. Yet when the time came for us to get my engagement ring, I had nothing but negative experiences with the jewelers in Maryland despite having established relationships with a couple, including the biggest independent jewelry store in the state.
