Good afternoon, visited this Denny's on 12/25/20, Christmas Day. Had not visited a Denny's restaurant in a very long time. All previous experience in Denny's have been good. This one was definitely the opposite. We walked in by the hostess table but no one was there. I imagine because it was Christmas Day they might of being short handed. We waited 15 minutes without no one saying anything. I approached someone at the pick up table ( who will turn out to be the Manager later). I asked if someone could sit us and he stated one of the waitress would sit ( only 2 working the floor). I asked one of the waitress that walked by " do we need to turn into a pumpkin before we get seated". She came back " as soon as I clean off a table we will seat you". 15 more minutes passed by. At this point I elected to walk out. As I was waking the same waitress I had encounter commented under her breath in smart way " Bye". I asked for her name and she said "it is right over and my manager is there". I spoke to the Manager Darrell ( gentleman from first interaction). He was a nice guy and very apologetic. He offered a table but my blood pressure had already risen and we decided to leave. Bottom line service could have been 100 percent better. Plus waitress with that type of attitude do not need to work there or anywhere else for that matter. I am a small business owner and my customers are my priority and life line. read more

Every meal here is a disappointment. A place specializing in breakfast should not hire any cook who doesn't know how to cook eggs. With the exception of scrambled, no matter what order you place, everyone at the table receives the same thing. Hashed browns should be called hashed whites. If you ask for them crispy or well done, they have a thin layer of burnt potatoes and a thick layer of undercooked potatoes. Impossible for them to serve like they are pictured in the menu. read more

I came in recently for breakfast and damn they actually fixed the place up. I remember looking the same for at least 25 years or more. Sadly, the food did not get an upgrade. Terms like mediocre and subpar come to mind for me. While cheap, the food reminds me of something I buy in the frozen section of the grocery store. I ate at eggcellance recently and man the food there blows Danny's out of the water! The employees must be very loyal because I have seen a lot of the same faces throughout the years. No disrespect to them, but I can't imagine tips being that great there. read more

I come to the Annapolis Denny's as often as possible, the MAIN attraction, for me, is April. Not only is she a FABULOUS server, she is friendly kind, warm and very inviting!! I truly cannot say enough about the wonderfulness that is APRIL. The food is good and if anything is ever wrong she will practically fall over herself to make it right. What's there to say about Denny's...it's "mood food" and it's inexpensive. Service is usually pretty good and food tends to come out quickly as long as its not slammed in there. My only complaints are..it could be cleaner. A serious deep cleaning crew should come in there and once over the whole place. Next time you're there look at the windows. They are caked with crust! Super gross. And the last complaint is something that the staff can't really do anything about...we live in Edgewater and getting to Denny's is soooo inconvenient. We have to go all the way down to the hospital and come up around the mall to turn right into Denny's. I wish they had a back way to get in there from Riva rd. But I'll make the drive to avoid the new Ihop in Edgewater. read more

We've been going to this Denny's for years, and it is consistently good! I get the Omelettes, while my seems stuck on the Fit Slam... Ah well, stick with what works for you! There have been some changes this year, including a re worked menu and a major upgrade to the interior of the restaurant. Super nice! read more

Worst staff ever! Was told it would be a 20 min wait, waited for 35 min only to be skipped over by a party that signed in after me for no apparent reason. The host was completely lackadaisical, had no personality and offered no explanation as to why he skipped over me. I wish you could give negative star reviews. taste is good but really crunchy and not like the picture . expectation vs reality. the waiter gave us our food and sat it at the very edge of the table . who does that? the waitress JESSICA was very rude. me and my party said that we wanted the check together but pay with 2 different cards. Not knowing that it wasn't possible, she gave us the check and we took it to the front. Then when we got up there, the other waitresses had explained nicely that it couldn't be done so we had to split the checks. Jessica then came over and pointed at us and yelled "she just told me one check" and rolled her eyes. Idk where she's from but in business, you do not do anything like that. I have not been to a Dennys in some time. This one looks like it was newely renovated. It was very nice and clean. I noticed that others mentioned they had poor service. Our server was outstanding. She was super friendly and very accommodating. We had better service than in some fine dining establishments we have eaten in. I wish I could remember name to mention it here. The food was your typical Denny's diner fare. They had new hamburgers on the menu that we tried and everyone liked very much. One in our party got the steak and cheese sandwich, and he raved about how good it was. The kids got chocolate lava cakes after dinner and they were very good as well. We had an excellent experience, good food for the money, and outstanding service. We will be back again. read more

Made the mistake of getting an evening breakfast here: a "senior" Belgian waffle special, consisting of one scrambled egg, 2 sausage links (which I asked to be cooked extra well done), & the waffle. All were barely warm when they came out, and I asked to get a replacement (hot) egg. All that night my stomach was gurgling, and in the morning I'd had a case of almost unending diarrhea. I've had upset stomachs from eating breakfast at (other) Denny's in the past, but not this bad. The food at Denny's just seems to be greasy, and I don't know if it's unsanitary conditions, the grease, or both, but I'd have to be pretty desperate to eat at another Denny's, especially considering the $33+ bill for the measly amount of food my wife & I got. We love this Denny's. The people are great. Very professional. The Mgr Darryl checked on all the tables personally and awesome wait staff-Deon, Ella and Kathy are great. Fast, yummy breakfast here. Just what you expect from any Denny's. My hubby and I come here when we are craving a full breakfast on weekends. We sit at the breakfast bar most of the time because you get faster and more attentive service. During our past visit, I noticed that the servers do not help each other out. No help with food running. It was to each their own, which I find really sad and selfish especially since I could see the food slowly dying in the window. I'd really like to see that changed. Teamwork is so important especially for this Denny's because I'm pretty sure it's a magnet for tourists. Also, the current manager on duty was not impressive. Instead of helping his servers out (some triple sat and others running around with their heads cut off and food dying in the window) he was busy trying to change the channel on the TV or ignoring the fast forming line at the register to cash people out. I was not impressed and felt bad for the servers. The other major thing I really want to see changed is the interior. This Denny's needs a SERIOUS makeover. It looks EXACTLY the same when I was in high school (late 1990s). Dear owner of this Denny's, It's 2012! Modern it up! Get rid of the glass enclosed dining area that used to be the smoking section. Give your servers a place they can really enjoy looking at and working in! And give us customers a more comfortable place to enjoy our food! read more

I've been back a few more times since my last review and it's clear to me now it just depends who is working. If you get good staff the dining experience will be nice but if you get bad staff the dining experience will be bad. Of course there is a crap shoot and you never know if your waiters, hostesses, and cooks are gonna be good or bad so I always kinda treat dennys as a only if I'm craving it place now. read more

Went here with my family of seven. Mind you they only had about three waitresses and waiters. They were ignoring us after seating us. Took about 40-45 for us to even get drinks and someone to come to our table. We had gotten there around 8 just sad this restaurant disappointed me almost as bad as the Hanover Denny's read more

Used to like going to Denny's for a good cheap bite. Not anymore. The one in Annapolis had gone way down hill super fast. Service was kind of rough to begin with, no greeting at the door and they sat my party at a dirty booth. Then we ordered and when i changed my mind about my meal they made it seem like it was a big deal! I asked for a straw she took a whole 2 tables orders before giving me a straw! This place is busy for breakfast! We waited a bit before we got a table. When we were seated I ordered coffee. The waitress brought me the cup of coffee complete with someone else' lipstick marks on it. I showed it to her and she brought it away. When she returned with the cup, the lipstick was gone from the spot it was, but then there were streaks of pink on the other side of the mug....so instead of getting me a clean cup she just wiped off the lipstick but not such a thorough job. I didn't say anything, but just dipped my napkin in my water and scrubbed the cup before drinking from it. Ordered pancakes with blueberries alongside the Human Torch which I am VERY glad I did. The HumanTorch arrived on a very hot skillet and was too hot to eat for around 20 minutes or so. I ended up moving pieces from the skillet onto my pancake plate just to cool it off in order to eat it. Although the description sounded lovely, in reality the food was not edible. I picked away at it, but the food was just pure hot... like suicide wings. I didn't enjoy it at all. I felt sick for the rest of the day, and I won't return. read more

Denny's has always been a great place for me and the group to go on a Sunday morning after a long Saturday night. Recently I have seen a great decline in service and food quality. Our orders are never right. It always takes a ridiculous amount of time to get our food, and drinks are always empty. I always get the same thing. Chicken salad. Shouldn't be to hard right? Wrong, out of all the orders it usually takes the longest. Never comes with the bread and avocado like its supposed to. After waiting a great amount of time for our food that always comes out wrong going to pay is always a big ordeal. For some reason asking for a military discount is frowned upon here. We get the roll of the eyes and big sighs as if we are asking for something that's nearly impossible to do! Denny's I have to say that you used to be a great place for a group of friends to recoup after a long night, now its just not worth the drive, the wait, and the money. Don't worry though you won't be handing out anymore military discounts for this group of sailors. Sorry for the inconvenience. read more

Haven't been to Dennys in awhile so popped in for breakfast and mentioned it was my birthday. The waitress, April (very friendly and efficient) immediately said Dennys would like to wish me Happy Birthday with a free breakfast!! When the breakfast arrived it was delicious, not greasy, terrific bacon and they even have gluten-free muffins. What a great surprise and treat...way to go Dennys!!! Denny's has its benefits and its drawbacks. Our large family finds is more affordable than most places. Double T as an alternative is going to cost you more, which may matter less if you are just paying for one or two but which really means something if you've got a bunch of kids to feed. The food is not going to be equal to what you get at more expensive places. Stick with burgers and fries; that sort of thing. They do use margarine, and I was not fond of the scrambled eggs at all myself. So I order burgers, not breakfast. But my daughter does really like their breakfasts, and can make two meals of one of the bigger ones. My husband gets great late-nite service here, and he likes to come a lot. Speed can be a big issue, especially if the place is busy. Just be prepared to talk a while, and once again order something conventional. read more

So, I was on my way from Nordstrom to Whole Foods starving to death since I had not had time to eat before leaving home. Denny's driveway was right there inbetween calling to me to give them a try before I passed out from hunger. I know I am a bit of a food snob and there must be lots of people who like this kind of food, but then there are lots of people supporting Chef Boyardee too... Coffee was awful, the shredded frozen potato side was tasteless with a nasty texture, the bread for the toast was the cheapest quality, and the cheese omelet was rubbery. But the worst of all was the fact that they did not even have the option of butter, only the artificial margarine style topping that comes out of a chemistry lab. Super yuck. I won't be back to try anything else and the reason I am giving 2 instead of 1 stars is that I noticed some hamburgers coming out of the kitchen that looked like they might actually be decent. So, maybe the lunch fare is better?? I'm afraid I will never know... read more

Denny's is a very hit or miss place. We go there only for breakfast. The breakfast menu is typical, eggs, meats, pancakes, etc. A consistant problem I have is they fry the eggs on a too hot grill and the egg edges get crispy and brown and sometimes the yoke also gets fried to a medium. These are eggs that are supposed to be over easy. The quanity of food is not consistant either, sometimes an order is very small and other times the servings are huge. The servers are the best and the only reason I'm rating this Denny's a 3. Although they have done upgrades to its location there is much more that could be done. read more

Awful experience. First we waited for 5 minutes just to be seated when there were multiple people standing around doing nothing. Then when finally someone did come, she was rude as could be and told us to just pick a seat. We were then handed absolutely disgusting menus covered in food and God knows what else. 10 minutes later our waiter (who seemed like he would rather be doing anything else but serving us) shows up, doesn't apologize for the wait, super rude and messes up our drink orders. Had a craving for pancakes so I stopped in was greeted by my server katt who not only told me about all the specialty pancakes but also about the great specials for 5.99$ I was amazed as she told me I could substitute my speciality pancakes for a slight uncharged!!!!! Met some friends there to just catch up and hang out... we were greeted immediately and our server katt (who was on top of everything) offered us fresh brewed iced tea.... it was so good....our food was excellent I had the build a sampler and my friends had pancakes with ice cream!!!! Who knew you could put ice cream in pancakes lol I will definitely be back and I will ask for katt again!!!! Great job read more
