This Denny's saved me from starving in Annapolis. I was here on a business trip, and not knowing that nothing is open late, I was ready to leave town until I found a McD's. Awful experience. First we waited for 5 minutes just to be seated when there were multiple people standing around doing nothing. Then when finally someone did come, she was rude as could be and told us to just pick a seat. We were then handed absolutely disgusting menus covered in food and God knows what else. 10 minutes later our waiter (who seemed like he would rather be doing anything else but serving us) shows up, doesn't apologize for the wait, super rude and messes up our drink orders. This has the worst service ever!!! Came here on a Saturday for brunch. There was a line as usual but the hosttess took her time in seating us while there were 6 empty tables. We got seated after 20 mintues, then we waited for our order to be taken for 30mins. Thank God our food came out after 10 minutes. Good comfort food but lousy, terrible service. read more

Had a craving for pancakes so I stopped in was greeted by my server katt who not only told me about all the specialty pancakes but also about the great specials for 5.99$ I was amazed as she told me I could substitute my speciality pancakes for a slight uncharged!!!!! Met some friends there to just catch up and hang out... we were greeted immediately and our server katt (who was on top of everything) offered us fresh brewed iced tea.... it was so good....our food was excellent I had the build a sampler and my friends had pancakes with ice cream!!!! If I wasn't so hungry this morning I would've taken my food back. I ordered at 9:31am online through the app (whole social distancing). I arrived at 9:40-9:45, said my name to the waitress and went to the restroom (give them a bit more time). I come out of the restroom, it's 9:50, my order was supposed to be done at 9:46, np. However before I took my seat to wait, a couple walks in, they're seated (my order is to go btw). Another couple comes, and seated, a third couple also seated and a single man is seated all at roughly between 9:40 and 9:50 between when I arrived and returned from the restroom. It's now about 10:00 and 3 of the 4 have been served hot food (ok, must be my turn). Nope, wait 5 more min last guy is served and then at about 10:06am I finally get my food. Now mind you these other people already eating after ordering 15min after me. Fine (I ordered online, ok cool). But to have me waiting an additional 20min to serve me cold food is..... I understand being short staffed, etc. all that jazz but how hard is it to place orders in a warmer or a microwave when you know it's been sitting on the counter for you to bag it. I'm done, this isn't the first time and not the second time, I'm done. Waste of money and I work hard, 5 star service regardless of how my day is going, short staff or no staff. I didn't ask for my food to be placed in a microwave b/c it would've needed to be remade due to the pandemic and I wasn't going to sit through another 30min for an American Grand Slam. I'm irritated but even in my frustration I wasn't disrespectful to the staff or other customers. The last time this happened, it was a manager and she didn't hesitate to have everything done without me being handed cold food so this was their next chance. Hadn't been here since summer. At this point I'm never going back. I'm a driver so it's difficult to make a meal at home if I'm already on the road. I gave them a 2 b/c they were short staffed and the waitress apologized for the long wait. i've been ordering online from them for months but now suddenly they no longer allow you to call in your order.. literally called them for them to tell me we won't take pick up orders on the phone. The problem with that is for some reason dennys is the only online website that declines my bank cards.. I don't understand it! Came in on a Sunday morning....I have three things to say. Save the work place drama for after work....or at least go into the kitchen to film your MTV pilot. However the stench when you walk in is subtle but unbearable. Sweaty feet mixed with the undeniable scent of vomit. Given, I did come in on a Sunday morning, I half expected there to be more people trashed from the night before. But I suppose they came in the night before for their late night dining. I love Denny's but this one is worthless. No one was working the hostess stand and my wife and I waited 20 minutes. They didn't even greet us once to write our names down. There was a line of people behind us and the servers were all just looking over at the hostess stand acting as if we did not exist. Either it's extremely understaffed or it's a game they are playing just waiting for one of us to get upset and leave. We did leave, and as soon as we did we looked in the window and they finally started to write people's names down at the hostess stand. We are lesbians and this is not the first time something like this has happened to me. I'm not saying that's what it was but it was kinda ridiculous they started serving people after we left. Dined there Saturday afternoon. The restaurant was not busy at all and there was more staff present than patrons. The waiters were eating food in the open and wiping their hands then handling people food. I ordered an iced mocha cappuccino, grapes and bananas for my child, a burger, pancakes, a smoothie, and a breakfast sandwich for my beau. The iced mocha cappuccino came with caramel in it. Since when does Caramel make Mocha!?!? When I questioned my server she said "that's the way we make ours here." Lies! I've had it the correct way here before. I then looked to the kitchen bar and saw our food sitting in the window. Our server "Mini" was no where to be found. I then saw her come in from outside and walk right to our plates. She didn't wash or sanitize her hands. To add insult to injury, my child still didn't have her grapes or bananas. They didn't even have the Shrek Kiddie cups that they're promoting. Upon realizing my child didn't have her food she took those same dirty hands and prepared the grapes and bananas. My beau couldn't find the bacon on his sandwich and I was way beyond over it. We called for the manager on duty who looked beyond clueless of the mess going on. When she questioned the server about the caramel the server admitted she did it but walked away from her as she was still talking. Never once did the manager ask her about the hand washing. Of course the staff is nasty when the manager doesn't even get respect. I will not be dining here ever again. We paid for the apple juice and the smoothie and looking back on it I shouldn't have paid for that. Where is Russ Ptacek when you need him?!? read more

My boyfriend and I love Denny's and go quite frequently. We had been to this location several times before and had never had a problem, but then on July 5, 2014, we walked in at about 3:00 p.m. and stood in front of the register waiting to be seated. Business was very slow, with about four tables occupied in the entire restaurant, and there was no one in front of us waiting to be seated. There were three employees within four feet of the seating area/register. All three of them looked directly at us several times but never said a word. The one directly behind the register continued cleaning silverware, while looking directly at us, and not once did she or anyone else say ANYTHING, not even "hi," much less ask us if we wished to be seated. After about a full five minutes of total bewilderment at the fact that we were being completely ignored by at least three employees, we walked out and will never return to this location again. read more

First when I got there, there was a 15 minute wait but that is to be expected of any dinner in Annapolis on a Sunday morning so I was not upset. The thing is that there is only 1 small bench that is considered a waiting area so about 13 people are trying to huddle in this little area to wait to be seated which isn't the best but not a deal breaker. Once I was seated my waitress immediately asked what I wanted to drink and had it out o me in seconds and then took my order of pancakes, eggs, bacon, and hash browns and was on her way. 10 minutes later my food arrives, which was surprisingly fast considering it was so busy. The pancakes were medium size but quite delicious, the eggs were pretty bland my a little pepper fixed that, the bacon was not that great and felt kind of rubbery but still tasted pretty good, and the hash browns were great. Overall it's just like any other Denny's I suppose, pretty good place to eat if your on a budget. read more

I've been to quite a few Denny's in my time but this is probably the worst. Mind you the food was okay but the service was horrendous. This is the second time I had been there and the first was pretty bad but I figured it was just a bad day. Unfortunately we got the same waitress who was even worse this time. She was waiting two tables and apparently two tables down they seemed a bit upset since they'd been waiting for some time. We didn't order anything complicated and she even mentioned how easy our order was. It took 15 minutes for here to bring our drinks and she messed them up! It took another 20 minutes for our food and she brought out our appetizers and meals at the same time. Listen, I am all for hiring the mentally challenged bu this chick was just plain stupid. Through all this we witnessed a drama unfolding with the kitchen, busboy and waitress. All along the manager is just counting his money. WTF! We finally managed to flag down the manager from his busy schedule and mentioned the horrible service. He took some money off but frankly that didn't make up for the terrible service. Oh yeah, they could use a little updating as well. The place looks like it hasn't been remodeled since 1790 - I meant 1970...my bad! Stay away if you can. read more
