This place is disgusting. We used to come here for breakfast, and I've posted before, but we will never go back. While patiently waiting for our food I watched several customers discover the floor was extremely slippery. Customers had to walk like they were walking on thin ice to avoid falling. After 50 minutes and still no food I asked the server if our food was coming soon. Her exact words were I don't know and she walked away. 6 minutes later we decided to leave. As we were about to stand up the server appeared with our food. She was carrying a big round serving tray and as she went to set it on the folding tray stand she slightly tipped the tray and my sandwich slipped off the plate onto the big round serving tray. She literally picked up the sandwich with her fingers, put it back on the plate and set the plate in front of me. I told her I will not be eating it now that she has touched it with her hands that she has adjusted her ponytail with numerous times and also touched the computer that every other employee has touched. She copped an attitude and said she'll ask them to make another. I told her no thanks and I am concerned it will take another 55 minutes. If I could give this place 0 stars I would. I was in town on a business trip and was staying at a local hotel that was less than 2 minutes from the Bastrop Denny's location. I had been trying to call since 11:30 pm to place a to go order but no one answered. I decided to go in person at 11:40 pm (mind you I am aware they close at midnight, my order was just going to be a cali club sandwich). I wasn't greeted by anyone friendly, it was a white lady with tattoos and another young girl with black hair and facial tattoos. I asked to place a to go order and they both said they are no longer taking orders as the kitchen has closed. I started yall don't close until midnight and what I said I was eating in, they both looked at each other and then looked at me and said the kitchen is still closed. If the kitchen closed early that needs to be posted somewhere because no other dennys has ever treated me this way to order food. After reading all other reviews, this place is known to have shitty service. Denny's yall need to go better!! read more

Server was awesome but the food was really undercooked. The eggs have a thick clear uncooked top layer and have a strange taste to them, the bacon is super chewy like it's raw and no crisp in the hash browns. read more

Every staff member, including the cooks (bless their hearts) they have is doing the right thing... masks etc, EXCEPT FOR THE MANAGER ON DUTY! He came to ask how things were, I let him know everything was GREAT except that he consistently had his mask under his nose. He quickly corrected that.... walked off and took it back down. We have watched for 30 minutes, as he put it back up just to walk by our table. This is not a joke. What a shame that we can't come back here, because otherwise it was great! read more

Normally me and boyfriend go to breakfast on Sundays , but Thursday I was having a bad morning and me and my boyfriend decided to go to breakfast. When we got to Dennys Joyce treated us at the register. She was so peppy and full of energy. Joyce actually ended up being our server. She must have sensed I was having a morning. She didn't ask but I swear she must have known and really turned my morning around. We have been in before and have not had her and was pleased to have Joyce as our server Thursday morning. We have admired her attitude from afar other mornings. She always seems so energetic and very personable! She was on top of my coffee , kept me filled. She didn't even ask me if I needed a refill. I ordered the all American grand slam. My food was amazing except for my toast was dry with no butter. I didn't want to say anything due to how much I was enjoying her service. However, She noticed I had no butter on my toast and returned with fresh toast without me saying a word. Next time I am in for breakfast I will definitely ask for Joyce. I arrived at 3 PM and there were a few patrons inside eating. However, the doors were locked. No one was at the front to unlock the door or tell me why the doors were locked...after a few minutes, someone (the hostess?) opened the door to tell me they were closed due to insufficient staffing...though there were still people inside at tables eating. I wish they at least put a sign on the door to explain that they weren't allowing other people in. At least the hostess(?) was nice enough to let me use the bathroom after a long car ride. Wonderful Service, Terrible Food. Both myself and the person I came with asked for extremely crispy bacon, but it came out visibly soft and squishy. Yes, it was cooked, but it was not at all crispy. I asked for my eggs sunny-side-up (this is how I always order my eggs) and the whites around the yoke weren't completely cooked. I've never seen my eggs so uncooked, even as sunny-side-up. We also got hashbrowns with both of our plates. Mine was less than half of the other plate and both of ours were almost burnt. Thankfully our pancakes were okay. Our waitress, Vickie, was so sweet and attentive, continously checking on us. She was a little dismissive when I brought up how undercooked my egg was, however if she never gets sunny side up, and that's how it's apparently always cooked here. I didn't bring up the hashbrowns or bacon because it isn't her fault. She did offer to replace the undercooked egg. read more

horrible experience!!! we had to seat ourselves. once seated, it took the waitress over 20 min. to acknowledge our presence. then it took over 45 min before we even got our meal. the meal had been sitting at the window for 20 min. before being served. the food was cold and tasted horrible. another table that came way after us were served before us and they even got their food before us. we complained to both the manager and the waitress and either one could give two s**ts about our service. they never attempted to comp outmr meal or even apologize for the service. the manager's appearance was so unprofessional. his clothes were dirty and disheveled. hair was a mess. the service we received this day reflects on all denny's. i have been to other denny's in the past and have never received this type of service. i will never go back. i hope this review is seen by the denny's corporation. i am not one to post reviews but this was such a horrible experience and i wanted to warn others so they don't have to go through what we went through. read more

Without a doubt the worst Denny I have EVER been too. And I gave this place three chances because the managers always had to be involved to correct and TAKE our orders while asking to give the place another chance. So we did. Tonight we waited 25 minutes before we got up and left. Our order was never taken. If you've left with a bad experience and are considering that maybe it'll be different this time, listen to that voice telling you it's not. It doesn't get better. Went in for an early breakfast. Waitress seemed annoyed to have a party of 6 at 5:30 am. She told us that as soon as her relief got there, she would be gone. Drink order taken and delivered in a semi timely manner. 6 breakfast plates took some time and of course they didn't all come out complete. Sausage was seriously terrible. Pancakes were nothing to write home about, bacon over cooked. We weren't happy with quality of food or service. I will say that I won't be going back nor would I be able to send someone there. Customer service is very bad, morning shift seems to not want to work, as soon as you sit down, you wait for 10 minutes to get your coffee or drinks. Then, you will not your waitress for about another 10 minutes to ask what you want for breakfast, as soon as they get the order, you will not see your food for 30 minutes waiting or longer possibly 40 minute. Morning shift needs to be replaced or fired. read more

They were short staff with only two cooks in the kitchen. Shout out to Kaley (our server), Cristina, and all of the front of house that was present. Got to give props to the GM for being a true leader and being the second cook to his only other cook in the kitchen. The female cook deserves a promotion or at least an additional bonus to her check. I've been here twice already and that may be one time too many. I came after watching Infinity War Thursday night/Friday morning around 1:30 and our meal was great, the server was friendly and the food didn't take too long to get. On Monday we took the family out around 10pm and it was one mess after another. We are a family of five, two kids three adults and ordered a crazy spicy skillet, the double berry banana pancakes breakfast, spaghetti with grapes, the kids build your own junior grand slam and I ordered a cobb salad with fried chicken with extra ranch and the croutons and bacon on the side. We waited maybe twenty minutes just to get my brother's vanilla shake, while our waters came with two melted ice cubes each (we never received refills on those waters). When we got the first part of our food, there was no syrup on the table and we had to ask three times just to get which took about ten minutes, my mom received her toast but no skillet, the kids bring your own junior grand slam came with two pieces of bacon instead of one bacon and one sausage like we ordered (no big, we traded at the table so we fixed that ourselves), and my cobb salad with extra ranch with the bacon and croutons on the side came out with the bacon on the side (so that was right) but my salad was just lettuce, fried chicken and croutons (that I ended up having to pick out myself), with a small ramekin of ranch on the side. I told our server that I ordered a cobb salad and she said, "That is a cobb salad" with all kinds of attitude. I had to stop and look at my mom before I responded because I wasn't expecting the attitude, but I had to explain to her that the cobb salad was supposed to have tomatoes, avocado, cheese--and then she cut me off and says, "My bad, I don't know what's on there" and left. So five minutes later when she comes back with the spicy skillet and three little bowls of cheese, tomatoes, and avocados I told her I was missing the boiled egg too and she said, "Oh, you want that?" and I said yes because it was part of the reason I ordered that salad in the first place. "Well then I'll go get you one" and she left with us asking for tabasco, syrup, and refills for the water and milk. She comes back a few minutes later with the tobasco and milk and tells me they ran out of boiled egg for the salad and asked me if I still wanted it which I said yes to. I also reminded her that i asked for extra ranch and that I had looked at the menu on my phone and I was still missing potato sticks for my salad and she said, "I don't know what that is? Do you mean french fries?" I had to actually show her the menu on my phone for her to believe me. She left and came back with a bowl of potato sticks and syrup (for the pancakes we had already had on the table for ten minutes that were already cold by the time we got the syrup). I'm really upset that a nice family dinner turned into such a fiasco, we drove half an hour out of town to go eat there and spend money on a nice meal and have it turn out to be such a mess. Wow! What a difference in service, atmosphere, and food! I came here a few weeks after they opened, and It was, well, bad in every way. We waited 2 hours to get a table and 30 minutes and still never got so much as a waiter to say hello or a glass of water after being seated. HOWEVER, we came back today to a diner paradise!!! The staff was AWESOME! We were seated with a smile right away and Felicity (our server)was a rock star! Our service was prompt and friendly! What a turnaround this place has had! The manager MJ greeted us and made sure we were taken care of. If you visited before (right when it opened) and were unimpressed, give this place another shot! I was very nervous to try Denny's after reading and hearing so many negative reviews and have put it off for over a year. We recently went on a Friday night, expecting to be somewhat disappointed with the service but we were VERY satisfied! Our server Madilynn was so friendly and fast, I know she was probably tired as it was almost 10pm but she was on her A game. The food came out quickly and was fresh! I should have known how our experience would be because soon as you reach the door, a sign says, "Closing early at 10:05 due to inefficient staff". The door was locked and knocking on the door and no one came. Thankfully, a patron was leaving so I was able to get into the door. I get my order and realized there were no Utensils, which was part of my order. Also, no syrup/ jelly's for the meals, I had to ask for those. I didn't get the toast that was part of my child's meal. (Mary Jane, Manager) chastising her employee and making fun of the fact that she is Bilingual was unacceptable and made me and other customers that could hear her very uncomfortable. There is nowhere at dennys.com to cancel. Called the store back they told me to go to GrubHub. Called GrubHub but they have no record of my order because it's through Denny's and not GrubHub. Called Danny's back, I was told to call back tomorrow when the manager is at work. I went on the dennys.com to file a complaint went through the process and it would not submit even after it said I was verified as being human! This is absolutely ridiculous. read more
