I requested a simple substitution on a breakfast combo that i've gotten over 100 times with no problem at every other dennys I've ever gone to, yet the manager at the bastrop dennys is not interested in great customer service, and refused to allow the substitution. The substitution is simple: on the 2 crepe combo, sub in one egg instead of the sausage or bacon. It actually saves the store money, because an egg is cheaper than a full order of bacon or sausage. But this store and this manager wouldn't do it. Poor customer service, inflexible manager, bad review. read more

I like most Bastropians was super excited when a Dennys opened up here in town. I love a good Dennys breakfast but the food here is awful. Bland, under/over cooked and the staff just do not seem to care. What little staff they have, seems like nobody wants to work there. I found out from one of the cooks that they don't get paid much and are treated poorly by management so I guess that would explain the lack of caring. The wait staff smell like ashtrays and act like they are on drugs. Guess I will just have to stick to Maxine's for quality breakfast or go out of town to another Dennys. read more

Three of us decided on Denny's since we've had fond memories of the name Denny's from growing up. We all ordered breakfast. Service was good, quick to be seated and there were lots of patron's. Disappointment on food. Most of my food was on the luke warm side. Eggs were warm, sausage was cold, pancakes were warm and the biggest disgust was that the oil used to cook food was old and the food had old oil taste thru out it. Have always enjoyed stopping into this location, yet with this non-holiday fad of decorating for Halloween. It is quite startling to enter and see huge spider decor at the entrance and entry. This affects so many seniors/children/etc and not everyone welcomes coming into family dining and seeing such triggers to their mentality. How can anyone enjoy their meL with having those fads in their peripheral vision and make them feel uncomfortable. Of you haven't eaten at Dennys, Bastrop,Tx and had Joyce as your wait person, then you haven't had the best and funnest dining pleasure! My group of gals and I stopped this past Sunday afternoon, we wanted a sit down meal so we could continue our gals outing, Sunday girls fun day! The service Joyce provided us was outstanding. Her attention to spacial requests for dietary needs, hee hysterical sense of humor and fast come back one liners was so much fun to banter with as we're a loud sassy group. Too crowded. The parking lot is a one way nightmare shared with a burger king drive through. The food.... I feel like I'm going to vomit. $60 ticket. For what? Freezer pot roast sandwich with government cheese on it. God save your money. This place would do well to just stick to breakfast slams. The dog ate the sandwich and felt blessed. So over all.... Wow.. what happened to Denny's? First, we are greeted by a sign saying "please be patient, we're short-staffed". Well, with a "now hiring" sign (see pic) flaunting a filthy face diaper, who would apply to work here? Secondly, we waited almost 30 minutes to be seated. This place is disgusting. We used to come here for breakfast, and I've posted before, but we will never go back. While patiently waiting for our food I watched several customers discover the floor was extremely slippery. Customers had to walk like they were walking on thin ice to avoid falling. After 50 minutes and still no food I asked the server if our food was coming soon. Her exact words were I don't know and she walked away. 6 minutes later we decided to leave. As we were about to stand up the server appeared with our food. She was carrying a big round serving tray and as she went to set it on the folding tray stand she slightly tipped the tray and my sandwich slipped off the plate onto the big round serving tray. She literally picked up the sandwich with her fingers, put it back on the plate and set the plate in front of me. I told her I will not be eating it now that she has touched it with her hands that she has adjusted her ponytail with numerous times and also touched the computer that every other employee has touched. She copped an attitude and said she'll ask them to make another. I told her no thanks and I am concerned it will take another 55 minutes. If I could give this place 0 stars I would. I was in town on a business trip and was staying at a local hotel that was less than 2 minutes from the Bastrop Denny's location. I had been trying to call since 11:30 pm to place a to go order but no one answered. I decided to go in person at 11:40 pm (mind you I am aware they close at midnight, my order was just going to be a cali club sandwich). I wasn't greeted by anyone friendly, it was a white lady with tattoos and another young girl with black hair and facial tattoos. I asked to place a to go order and they both said they are no longer taking orders as the kitchen has closed. I started yall don't close until midnight and what I said I was eating in, they both looked at each other and then looked at me and said the kitchen is still closed. If the kitchen closed early that needs to be posted somewhere because no other dennys has ever treated me this way to order food. After reading all other reviews, this place is known to have shitty service. Denny's yall need to go better!! read more

Server was awesome but the food was really undercooked. The eggs have a thick clear uncooked top layer and have a strange taste to them, the bacon is super chewy like it's raw and no crisp in the hash browns. read more
