People have a crazy idea of Denny's! Let me tell you: from the moment our group of 40 to 50 people walked in yesterday till we left, we were served top-notch customer service from Monica and Alex! We had just buried our Aunt, and all decided to take a trip over to get some lunch before heading to our respective homes in San Diego, the Bay Area and LA! The food is delicious. The hamburgers are made fresh. They are not already made burger patties and they are seasoned to perfection! And again, they did not disappoint yesterday. Everybody was super satisfied with their delicious food. Don't knock it until you try it... again, folks! The customer service was impeccable! Thank you all for all your hospitality yesterday. This Denny's was very welcoming during lunchtime. I was greeted as soon as I walked in, which I really appreciate-- especially when they're busy and there's a wait, it's nice to be acknowledged when entering an establishment. We were seated right away, and the staff was very accommodating with my kids. The server offered to take my kids order first to help keep them occupied, which I thought was thoughtful. The food came out quickly, giving us plenty of time to enjoy our meal together. The chef did an amazing job--my burger tasted fresh and was cooked perfectly, not overdone at all. We stopped at this spot (Dennys) because my husband needed coffee and was craving a steak . At the moment we walked we weren't greeted instead we were received with a "how many?!" Then when the waitress approached us she asked us what we wanted to drink . No greeting no curtesy . We were served our food , with no silverware and no napkins . They dropped my husband's food. We ate my husband paid the tab while we helped cleaned up the table. We grabbed our babies and walked out ... we walked pretty slow I think we have a 2yo and a baby in a car seat on us. Well one of the servers came out claiming we didn't pay because he didn't see us pay. He asked my husband for a receipt of payment my husband showed him ... no apologies nothing he/she just said it's because I didn't see you pay. ‍ We aren't coming to this place ever. for starters it took awhile to be seated because one girl was running around, one girl was standing around and another on break... once we sat i stated i have a birthday slam and Dafne said I'll scan when you pay.... so we order and our order was wrong! ddnt ask to correct it, we just wanted the fries... waited for fries that were in the window (guy kept yelling fries in the window) and the girl standing around (Layla,made sure to let me know the NIGHT MANAGER is who she is) was in the kitchen with the cooks chatting away. Mind you the seating area was pretty full for 9pm... still we said nothing about the service... waited a good 10 mins to get containers, had to ask a different waitress because ours was still running around. got our bill, i show Layla my coupon and she says I'll need your number, we can't scan...she walks away asking dafne for something. i give her my number when she returns and she states the rewards will show up on her end i said ok. she never said nothing about no rewards showing up, she gives us our total, we pay and start to walk out. that's when i notice we were charged for my birthday everyday slam. so we go back inside and dafne walks towards us, i explain i was charged as she takes the receipt and then Layla walks over says did i give you the wrong change? and i said no you charged me for the slam, she immediately states she can't refund me after it was paid. i said but that's not my fault you can see the coupon. Layla says you didnt tell me you wanted rewards i thought you wanted points (mind you she kept repeating your rewards will show up here) but you can call Joe in the am, i ask Layla for her name, she repeats you can call Joe in the am. i asked again for name and i said you're not going to give me your name she shook her head no. i ask dafne for her name and she states dafne very rudely and i asked her do you see the coupon in rewards she rolls her eyes as she walks away and says you should have told her what you wanted. i replied with neither one of you should have attitude with me and Layla was continuing to speak as i was walking out the restaurant with a full side of customers. i came to know Laylas name because i do know plenty of people that work for the company. She needs to be properly trained or retrained for a management position. read more

I frequent this place, often early in the morning night. I am greeted immediately and kindly by the small staff, including my favorite waitress, "Ariel". So sad to leave this review. Being from Delano and having this only location here makes it unpleasant to enjoy. The waiters who have been here for YEARS have poor customer service. They judge you based on how you're dress. Not once did the waiter ask us how our food was. She failed to even greet us. I am not one to leave a review but this location needs to do better. I will drive out to a different Denny's out of town from now on. Horrible customer service. They need to hire new employee who enjoy what they are doing. 0/10. read more

When we visited Denny's with our crazy kids, Andrea the waitress treated us like family from the moment we walked in. With a warm and engaging smile, she greeted each of our children and took their wacky and unpredictable orders (including three different special requests!) quickly and efficiently. Recently had a family dinner here and our experience was fantastic. Our host AND server was Adam. That young man was amazing!! As soon as we entered to be seated he greeted us quickly and took us to a table promptly. Upon sitting down he asked for our drinks and those came out quickly after. He gave us another moment to order and once we were ready everything came out fast and delicious! Compliments to the cook as well. Adam checked on us multiple times and we never went without refills. Service was great the best experience I've had here in Delano as a whole ! There's also no Tesla chargers or ev chargers around the area so I'm glad I got to go inside and meet Joe the general manager who made the experience as great as it was ! I went to to charge my Tesla model 3 outside. As I was waiting I, went to Denny's. I asked Jennifer at about 7 pm to be accomodated at outside table. She said it was closed. At 9:30 she accomodated patrons outside. I asked her why it was closed for me but open for other patrons. I asked what time they open outside. She replied " I do not know, I honestly don't know". So if she doesn't know when they open outside how did she decide it was closed for me yet open for other patrons. I made a complaint with dfeh.gov for discrimination. read more

If you're looking for a quick-sit-down-bite, this is the place. You get the "old time diner" feel like any other Denny's. They've got the dessert behind glass and the smell of coffee greets you at the door. The hostess usually seats you right away unless they're busy, which this particular day, they were! Why I chose to take my 1 year old, beats me! She's a doll but when you're trying to relax, taking a needy child is not a grand idea. Good thing they've got those jelly packets on the table...she managed to eat 2 grape flavored jellies by the time our food got there....don't judge me. It kept her quiet. So like I said before, they're real fast here and they're breakfast is good. It's Denny's so you can't expect home made scratch biscuits and gravy but for the price it was pretty good! I got the veggie scramble and hash browns, with a side of biscuits n gravy, can't go wrong there. And I love their iced tea. I don't know why it's always so good served in that coca-cola glass with lemon. The waitress was friendly and a nice young lady brought us coffee every time she saw our cups getting low! Plus plus!! Abigail seated us was just extremely rude. She wanted to seat us on a booth and we had a majority of senior citizens & they can't easily just scoot way down the booth she wanted us to sit in! We then asked if we can have 2 tables placed together and without a word she just literally slammed the chairs together and tables together?? She mad?? Without a word she left. So haven't been here in months and I have to start off by saying it's is an ice box. You literally need a ski coat just to sit and try to enjoy your food which gets cold in seconds because it's so cold in here. Makes it uncomfortable to be here. Second, the food is not what it use to be, it's all over cooked and sloppy. I ordered a house salad which was brought to me in a dinner salad bowl and she asked what I wanted in it. No one knew where ice tea pot was so they didn't have brewed ice tea. They didn't have buffalo sauce for the wings and it's too damn cold !!! Regardless of countless customers complaining to staff and the staff walking around in coats, the manager who we learned is named Guadalupe, did not turn down the AC. I'll do my best to paint the picture. The sauce- Have you ever seen what comes out of a baby when they eat yellow grapes? Yellow diarrhea right? Now imagine a 75 pound baby that ate 40 pounds of yellow grapes and than had a giant YELLOW on my plate. That pretty much describes the color. It was lumpy and thick, not a "sauce" at all more like a country gravy that sat on the stove cooking to long. I feel like the only way for somebody to appreciate the disgustingness would be to visit the place, order it, than send it back. The meat? If there was any it was enveloped in the lumpy baby butt yellow gravy sauce. Oh and the bread? I would probably say it wasn't toasted, but I couldn't know for sure as it was also buried so deep in the lumpy baby butt yellow gravy sauce, it was invisible. When I sent it back I had really lost my appetite but my partners food came so I couldn't just leave. I asked for an order of sourdough toast. My partner finished his whole meal. (Grand slam with pancakes) took about 10-12 minutes. Than they brought me my toast. Not sourdough like I ordered. No no. Two pieces of white toast. One of the two pieces they so kindly buttered. We have ordered online from this location before, but my husband and I decided to dine in Saturday. There were not many customers. The breakfast/lunch crowd had died down. We were seated quickly and had our drink orders taken immediately. Our server spoke very quickly and we had to keep asking her what she had just said. My husband decided to get the two strawberry crepes combo. He asked for one crepe to be boxed to go. They did remember to do this, nice! He thought his crepe was kind of small. Otherwise, everything tasted okay. I had the berry banana pancake combo and a coffee. I really liked my meal. Everything tasted fresh and my pancakes had plenty of fruit. They also had sugar free syrup available (bottle). I received plenty of hot coffee refills. We arrived between 2p and 2:30p. My experience here was great! My niece and I came in for her free stack of pancakes because I called in a survey on my last Denny's receipt. The wait was less than 3 minutes for her and I. Our server came over right away to get our drinks but said she was ready to take our order if we were. Our servers name was Jessica and she was so sweet and genuine with us and with all the other tables she was serving. She was super busy, but didn't act like it which I totally appreciated. I ordered French toast, a stack of pancakes and orange juice. The pancakes were thick and fluffy and I wish I would have ordered 4 slices of French toast, they were good! One of the worst Denny's I have ever been to. Sucks Delano only has one. My order is always messed up; both dine in and pick up. Food always comes cold. I ordered one of the skillet bowls and it came to me super cold and less than what i paid for. Skimped out. Since I always order a skillet! Also, I always order a smoothie and they NEVER fill it to the top. I also had gotten a smoothie with a big chunk of ice in the middle, not blended/made correctly. Horrible customer service. The manager is nice when she is fixing the issues, but they need to hire people who can maintain great customer service. Have never gone back to this Denny's since. read more
