Ahhhhh Dennys.. the classic American Diner. With so many breakfast/brunch options in the DMV, places like Dennys tend to get looked over. I was heading to an appointment and thought I had time to stop somewhere else but the rain made for a long drive. It's right off of the highway so you won't miss it. I remembered how fast Dennys was growing up and decided to see if that still was the case. I was greeted immediately walking in and sat promptly. My server came over right away even though she seemed to be the only server there with quite a few tables. I ordered black coffee (it's a diner, stick with the theme) and the Grand Slam Breakfast *it was $10!!* my food came out fast and it was HOT. As I sat there eating, I looked around and it's still the same Dennys.. the same decor, with the addition of tinsel garland and felt decor for Christmas. For me, that was a good thing. It wasn't trying to be the newer restaurants, it was familiar, it was what it's always been. Hot, quick food, cool fast server who's not there to talk your head off. And hot black coffee. If you're in the mood for some good food at a good price without the fluff, with some added nostalgia... I would revisit Dennys. read more

Went in on my way to work on a Friday morning. Was seated with no wait (The place was empty). Tim brought my coffee out IMMEDIATELY, and got my order in and then served FAST. This is the best service I've gotten at a Denny's in a VERY LONG time. Had breakfast really early here right after we landed. The server quickly greeted us and sat us down. Once seated, she came over right away and took our orders. This is a store that used to be an average Denny's that has gone to pot. The waiter on 8/17/2026 was as good as he could be given a cook who just out and out refused to prepare certain items for the customers behind us. The Roof was leaking like a waterfall make the floor extremely hazardous to walk on. Apparently maintaining salt shakers is too much for them .... only provided small salt packets where the salt was sticking together. #6140 1803 Edgewood MD off Exit 77A. Avoid this dump. 43 rated 3 star and below with 27 of them 1 star rating (28 now I guess) ..... only 14 4 and 5 star. Not a good profile. read more

Had breakfast here on Sunday that just passed and it was sooo good. From walking in I loved the, "Edgewood" sign . The restaurant was well kept and what looked like, it was re-done, new blue vibrant color chairs, new decor of which was very nice. The Sante Fe skillet (I pray I said that right, lol) was so delicious, with potatoes, bell peppers abd chorizo sausage with two over medium eggs on top. I visited your restaurant in Edgewood, Maryland on 4-22-2025 around 6pm. We had dinner at this location and the food was very good. Our waitress, Leah I believe was her name was friendly. The store was pretty quiet at that time. The one complaint was the employee's that weren't working, were huddled around the back corner by the bathroom and there were people just outside of the entrance smoking marijuana and loitering. I admit it, I like Dennys! It's a diner with some specials and updated PR (updated from the 1950's to the 1970's). Strong food game with shredded potato hash browns nicely browned. Six of us went and one small child had a happy meal. The manager turned us away. Only one other customer in the restaurant. Turned away at least $150-200 meal for one toddler. Place is always empty now I know why they don't want business. Don't worry bob Evans got our money. we used to go there on a regular basis but won't be back & the male employee yelled inside the restaurant that I am a f*n joke in front of my child and the one couple they had as a customer bc I wanted to know why. I've been taking happy meals in restaurants for 20 years never a problem. Bob Evans didn't say a word! Do better Dennys get new management and employees or close down!!! read more

I ate at the one in Graysonville MD and there was a spanish speaking person in the kitchen who never shit up the entire time I was there. She literally never took a breath. she was loud and never cracked a single English word. The food was great and the service was great but I think ill skip this place next time because her loud never ending talk was beyond annoying read more

Worst salad ever. My dad was too polite to complain, so he picked out all the spoiled bits. That's what I photographed here. But he ate bits that looked spoiled to me--cucumber slices with brown rings on the light green interior. It's hard to see how the waitress overlooked the poor quality, but she seemed absentminded, promising to bring us napkins then forgetting, among other problems. Although our waitress was friendly, we got the impression she was thinking of her next smoke break--or something. Next time I want diner food, I'll go anywhere except this Denny's. read more

Just crazy. Was like 14 degrees outside. Restaurant was like 21 degrees. Was told manager locked thermostat in his office. Then received Luke warm coffee and had to scarf down breakfast as we were shaking due to the cold. Also our food was getting cold fast - duh I think just a way to save money. Horrible management ! I wish I could give negative stars. This place is disgraceful and ugly. Dirty. Unorganized and dull. Most of the waitresses were extremely sloppy and sluggish. Our waitress didn't pay any attention to us. We had to ask for her attention for a coffee refill once. The food is below mediocre and it's very expensive. So the host days he'll go clean one off, and if there was a world record for slowest table cleaning ever, I assure you he'd win. He was just so lax, no sense of urgency whatsoever. After the table was clean and we were seated, our waitress came over right away to take our drink order. Getting the drinks and food was quick. However, the entire time we were eating, the same tables that weren't clean when we arrived were still not clean. Then the waitress refills my (half full) drink, but fails to get a refill for my daughter (whose drink was literally empty) Then waiting for the check was another 15 mins after we finished eating. I went to this Denny's three times while at the hotel next door. Two of the visits were fine and one wasn't, First visit was a dinner service around 7pm. Seated promptly, nice server. Order the barbecue chicken breast skillet dinner with macaroni & cheese and hash browns. Only down side to that combination was the mac & cheese when put on the sizzling skillet seared the pasta touching the plate which stuck several pieces to the plate. Good flavor, nice experience. Second visit was around 10pm, and was a totally different experience. Had to wait to be seated by the manager who said "My day will be better when it's over". Finally had a server come to the table who stated "no one told me I needed to take your order" (no apology for the wait). Meal also took longer than it should have to arrive at the table. Night shift was very disappointing. Third visit was breakfast a 7 am. Better experience as I was immediately seated and dealt with a pleasant server. Food served in a timely manner. OK place to eat - as long as it isn't the night shift. read more

I was staying at a motel nearby so I decided to eat diner at Dennys. I was seated near the kitchen, there was music playing in the restaurant, but there was louder music in the kitchen. As I ordered one song was ending, the next song came on and in part of it was fu@k that bit@h and other language like that. At one point the manager told them to turn it down. Nothing happened, as soon as my food cam I move across the restaurant to a empty table. The waitress asked me why, I told her I wasn't listing to that trash any longer. I didn't move earlier because I was afraid they wold do something to my food. The waitress apologized and they knocked 10% off my order. As I left they still had music playing , the manager apologized but never said that it wold not happen again or that anything would be done about it. I contacted corporate and they said sooty about that come again. Well no I am done with Dennys. If you let employees do what they want it's kind of scary what might be happening in the kitchens. read more

We visited Maryland for a few days, and we stayed at the Holiday Inn right across the street. After we checked in, I asked the clerk where a good dinner spot was, but in a rush because we had to be somewhere soon. This is a real tourist spot, and there are six hotels surrounding this Denny's. The service was quick and friendly. I had a sizzling fajita plate, and my date had the steak caesar salad. Not sure why this place gets so many bad reviews. My experience here was fine. Got there around 10 a.m. on a Wednesday morning got seated immediately waitress was very attentive. The food came just as I ordered it. Coffee was hot and very good. The place was clean was not dirty wasn't very noisy nor was it too crowded. Maybe it's the weekend crowd that makes it so bad but during the week I think that's the place that you should try out. The omelets are very good here. read more

I watched 2 servers fight over whether or not one keeps stealing her tips from tables. The accuser hasn't been seen since the manager said something to her. She walked to the back and that was it. Watched the one being accused of stealing tips take food to the wrong table, comes back and grabs the plate that was wrong and goes up to the server station like she is going to dispose of the food. Grabs food for another table and grabs the food from the server station she mistaken for another table to the correct table where it belongs not even 5 minutes later without the food being remade. Seemed like no one wanted out table we sat for over 10 minutes before a waitress came to the table. All the while a group of servers hung around the counter. Here's the Scoop: I love Denny's for the most part. However, last night my family and I had a horrible dining experience. When we arrived at this particular one it was 10pm tired and hungry. The waitress escorted us to a booth table for a family. Nice large booth. My experience began to diminish because underneath this table it was filthy. The table was set with utensils and placemats though. I assume another large family with little ones ate there prior to us. French fries and chicken nuggets were under the table. I couldn't believe the waitress wanted to seat us like it wasn't there. I immediately said excuse me but can you sweep this up or give us another table? She started to guide us to another table then she saw that they were mopping in the back so she guided us back to the filthy table retrieved a broom and dust pan and swept. We sat but I was appalled. As I scooted around the booth I noticed something on the table like mashed potatoes. I was just livid. I called the waitress back to wipe the table down. She says oh yes, I feel that under the cloth. I couldn't speak just looked in horror! Really!!! My husband talked me to calmness, so we ordered with apprehension. All the signs were saying leave. So, we ordered, the food arrived not cooked to our specifications, my daughter had to order something else because they ran out of the entre she wanted. The ultimate was when husband saw grape jelly under the side of his plate and he'd order steak and potatoes. So I'm here to say this dinning experience was horrible. I ordered steak as well and it was over cooked. 2 stars are for the effort of the waitress to appease us. My family and I will never come to this Denny's again. I feel the chef needs to be more attentive to the condition of a plate before he puts your food on it. We gave the waitress a 20% tip because as you know waitress and waiters salary depends on their tip. I wish I could give half stars to give it 3.5, because both the husband and I really enjoyed our meals. Neither of us had been to Denny's before this one, and I really wanted to go because I had seen commercials for their banana bread french toast. So while on a roadtrip to Philly, we stopped by for some breakfast. As I had expected, the banana bread french toast was delicious! It came with some (not enough) bacon and syrup, and I just inhaled that meal. The big surprise was how much husband liked his meal - he ordered some dish which is basically a pile of potatoes, some vegetables and spicy sausages - maybe some kind of hash? Whatever it was, he was really happy because it had a perfect amount of spice and "kick." Not something you would expect at Denny's, where we thought the food would be basically bland. Service was prompt and friendly until the very end, when it started to get crowded and I think our waitress got overwhelmed. They had small TVs playing sports news, and the price was great. I now have a positive impression of Denny's and would go back there again next time we are on a road trip. read more

Shoutout to the hard-working adults that were all diligent in delivering a favorable experience to guests. I ordered takeout during a mid-afternoon rest-stop off of 95 yesterday, and I watched the cooks, waiters, waitresses, and even the guy cleaning the bathroom - all work in a fashion that can be described as choreographed ballet. Even the lady who took my order, an older woman with dark hair (Carrie?), was serving tables but took the time to explain the difference between loaded tots and other appetizers - while also serving other guests and being nice. Kudos to the hard-working Americans at this Denny's that keep this country humming. :) read more

This location is hit or miss. Some days your server is awesome, some days I don't even want to leave a tip. Food has always been good though and any complaints we've had with our food have always been addressed right away with no issues. The wait during peak times is always insane but its to be expected at a place like this. read more

I ordered a FULL ORDER of nachos for carry out. I got home and was disappointed it had a nice amount of chips but only had cheese and beef on them. I called talked to the manager and let him know this was unacceptable and I was bringing them back. He assured me he would make them himself . The portion was pathetic I have had half orders there and they were bigger. My $9+ full order and two trip to get was a big disappointment!!! I guess I'm supposed to be grateful to make two trips because the second time I actually got what was supposed to be on them in the first place.
