Just terrible! Seated at 11:30, ordered a few minutes later. About 20 minutes after that, TWO tables walked out before they got their food because they said they had waited over an hour. Certainly, in the 20 minutes we sat there, only ONE two-top got their food (which looked like scrambled eggs & pancakes. How long does that take to make?!) the place was less than half full. Not a good sign! About 5 minutes later (a good 20-25 minutes after ordering!) just as someone in our party said she would give them 5 more minutes then walk out also, the manager came to our table and said "Whoever ordered the buffalo wings, we just ran out." First of all, ZERO other orders had been served since we walked in the door, so there was no way they JUST ran out. Second, who waits 25 minutes to figure out that a food that should take 5 minutes to prepare - is out?! Third - he then proceeded to say "Don't worry, I won't charge you for the wings..." Oh, THANK YOU for not charging me for something I DIDNT GET!! Of course, I voiced this opinion. He offered to bring me something else. How kind. Since at this point, the orders were taking 30 minutes and counting, I wasn't too hopeful!! He ended up putting an "ASAP" on the order (why they don't just put ALL orders in "ASAP" is beyond me!) and my food came out only 10 minutes after everyone else's. Theirs was cold, mine was hot, telling me that the food must've sat for a while before being brought to the table! I have been here before , but today was terrible. A young boy was sick outside the bathroom and a customer had to get the manager to get someone to clean it up. We were seated in a timely manner but the whole operation seemed unprofessional. Our pancake popper were very overcooked and should not have been served. My food sat under the warmer for a long time while they waited for the other meal to be cooked so my food was somewhat cold. My fellow diner did jot get the food that came with the meal and when asked, the sever simply denied that the food came with the meal. Over all this place is usually cleaner and the staff is more attentive. This time the waitress never came back and we waited fifteen minutes and she never returned. Since the remodeling, I was hoping that this place had hired some new staff that would faster with seating and food orders. Went in with high expectations. I went with group of friends and ordered a water. The glass was filthy and the waiter brought me a brand new glass. We all ordered burgers with different toppings. All of our burgers with mixed up after waiting what seemed like an eternity. Along with that my chips were burnt but my burger was cold. Well THAT was a surprise! We went to Denny's for reasons of momentary convenience ... location and time before heading to a nearby movie. We hadn't been to a Denny's for years. I loved something called a Chili Size in the 70's ... the name made no sense ... but at the time a burger slathered in chili was just the ticket. For me and my 21-year-old tastes. So we walked in today at noon with modest expectations. Mother's Day and very busy. The place looked like 1979. Brown. Orange. Mismatched naugahyde seating. A kids' prize machine in the lobby with a crane inside ... with a Denny's logo and fake woodgrain panels. The pimply kid at the front taking names seemed lost. Maybe his first day. But we were seated without too long a wait. Antoine served us. And that's when good things began to happen. He was great. As attentive as a person could be faced with too many tables on a busy day. But the best thing was (drumroll here) ... the food. I know. It's Denny's. How good could it be? But it WAS really good. My wife had an eggwhite omelette. They promised mixed seasonal fresh fruit. We thought ... yeah, they'll open a syrupy can. Wrong. It was beautifully sliced fresh apples, grapes and melon. Delicious. I ordered an avocado and grilled chicken with bacon salad. It was a phenomenom. The salad was huge. The chicken was perfectly grilled. And there was so much it was almost more chicken breast than I could eat. In short, Denny's was a happy surprise we did not expect. More people should know. (Note to Denny's corporate: Rename the place. "Denny's 1979 American Diner." I rarely eat from here bc of the service. I originally ordered a chicken sandwich but after the order was put in I then switched it a burger. The waitress acted like it was a problem changing my order but she did. My food did arrive kinda fast but it seemed like I was rushed eating. Another customer was unhappy about his food for whatever reason so he asked for a discount and the manager got real snobby with him and gave him attitude and said she will not give him a discount. Now I understand if Denny's is cheap meaning that they don't want to help out the customer with either some money off their total bill for their order or some free food. The food at Denny's is over priced. I will only give 1 star out of 5. I thought that the saying goes: "The customer is always right". Apparently not in this restaurant. read more

I went in and there was no servers visible. I sat myself and waited to be greeted. I said "hello" three times to two of the servers, and was ignored. it was a terrible experience! the manager was very disrespectful and continued to interviene with the person taking my order. i had something wrong with my food that was clearly put on receipt that i asked one time about and the manager snatched my food out of my hands and threw it on the floor in front of a whole dining room of customers including myself! the staff even looked amazed when he did it! then he continued to yell at me as if ive done anything wrong, he threatened to put me out of the store after i demanded my refund. then he approached me in a threatening manner i did not leave the store because i did not receive my refund yet. my orders where 12.17 and 10.17 which is $22.34. i paid with my card and he gave me a cash refund which was expected but it was 2134 they didnt refund me for the dollar they charged for the cheese on my scrambled egss. i called the police in the store and when he gave me my refund i told them everything was ok and not to dispatch a officer. i would like something to be done about this immediately i felt very threatend and felt confused on what ive done wrong. he also said that i was interrupting a woman at checkout while standing at pickup for my refund she over powered him and said that i was fine and i wasnt bothering her. i want something done i would like for corporate to respond so i can get the exact names of employees on duty also a total refund. please contact me back asap! this occurred on tuesday the 23rd at the 1803 edgewood rd edgewood maryland location! 0 stars read more

I was recently having lunch with a friend, at around 12:30 on Saturday, Oct, 30, 2010 while waiting for my freind to pay for our lunch I just happen to be watching the people at the register, when one of the waitresses was having a loud conversation with I'm guessing a manager, he was wearing a blue shirt, she went on to say to him I worked my ass off today, then the manager proceeded to turn his back to continue on the register, when the waitress began rubbing her but into his , he did nothing about it. I consider this behaviour to be sexual harrassment, and this waitress apparently did not act accordingly, and definitly NOT professional, so , saying that they are both responsible for inappropiate behaviour, working in a public restaurant this cituation is wrong. I am married military, and we had just been station in MD, I was throned into moving very quickly,My husband just made Captain so we had to rush, with that being said we took the first hotel we saw after this last min trip. I ask the lady at the desk were can we eat a sit down meal at instead of the Burger King that sat in the parking lot of our hotel(weird). She said Denny's, ok I have had that plenty of time, just not sober..lol... Well the day comes and its Mothers Day and my husband is on a call for the base real quick and so I I figure I go eat at this Denny's..What a great idea...I laughed so hard at the hostess as to we were just people watching the different Mothers coming in to have brunch. My husband had to come find me I was having such a great time, I didn't realize I had been sitting there for almost 2 1/2 hrs. Oh, you want to know bout the food.. I had the best Mothers Day in another state dinner you could have ask for..and to top it off..I even had some to share with my husband later that night after we went to the real Mothers Day.. But if you get a chance to stop by..I loved that place...It was real warm to see that some people can still be nice to a stranger. read more

Well- it's Denny's, so I don't expect Capital Grille or Ruth Chris level quality or service. That being said, it's a great place to go for a sit-down meal after a night out, or when you just want some food. I can't count how many times I've been here after a night at the clubs or bars. This was absolutely the worst Denny's dining experience I have ever had. There were enough employees available to picket fence the running of the bulls, but none but one of them seemed to be working. Customers were few and noticeably frustrated whether they were there for dine in or carry out. My party and I waited between 5 and 10 minutes just to be acknowledged and seated in a dining room with more service staff than customers. Once seated, we waited about 15 minutes to be greeted by our server. Drinks were served soon after we ordered them but getting a refill was next to impossible. Our waitress was out of our line of sight for more than 10 minutes. We eventually spotted her enjoying a meal behind the service counter with several other staff members. Once eye contact was finally made, our server hopped up and approached us, wiping her face with her hands and her hands onto her apron. She didn't wash her hands before handling our food that sat waiting under heat lamps in plain view for at least 5 minutes while she ate with her cohorts. Our meal arrived incomplete as predicted. It might have been more enjoyable had we received utensils. I had to get them myself from a nearby table because our waitress disappeared yet again. More than 40 minutes after receiving our meal we finally received drink refills. Our waitress and a majority of the other employees continued to do as they pleased throughout our dining experience, including taking multiple cigarette breaks and sitting down at tables with friends and/or regular customers. All the while, the manager waddled around and appeared oblivious to the situation, clearly unconcerned about his lax employees and their lack of customer service. If you like shriveled old pancakes, cold overcooked eggs, and awful service, then this is the place to go! They brought toast out that looks like it took a shower in butter. 3 napkins later, it was almost edible. Not really though. The service matched the quality of the food with slow seating. It took about ten minutes to get some napkins. And a while longer to get garbage on a plate. On a positive note, the water wasn't bad. I wish I would have taken another sip before I left to wash the nasty taste out of my mouth. read more

We stopped in this morning for a bite to eat on our trip to NYC. and must say the dining experience was impeccable. We were immedaitely greeted and seated by a very pleasant lady who also served us. I believe her name was Tracy. I ordered the Senior Omlet and my husband ordered some kind of skillet. The omlet was AMAZING! Very flavorful, and the omlet was fluffy! The hashbrowns were cooked to perfection and the best part of it all? Everything was hot! I would definitely reccomend this Denny's as opposed to the ones in our area. This restaurant is clean, the service is great, and the food is delicious. great way to start a long trip! read more
