I usually love Denny's. But every single time they mess up the order. They're always short staffed and the food is usually burned or just made incorrectly -- or just not at all what we ordered. We've tried this place repeatedly and it's just never a good experience. Maybe it's just because it's the night shift? I don't know but it's super disappointing. read more

We've been here several times and the service is mediocre at best. However, this morning was the worst. We got there and there was a little wait time. I asked her how long the wait might be and she said that there were only two tables in front of us and they were being cleaned off right then, keep in mind it was only my husband and I. We sat down and waited. Well the two parties were seated and we waited for her to call our name. 2 more tables were seated and I asked why we were skipped. They apologized and said that they would seat us next as they sat 2 more tables down. Needless to say we left and went and enjoyed breakfast at black bear diner down the street. Have eaten in the new location many times now, and each time the service STANK. People would come in and get sat after you, but get their order and food before you would. I've even walked out at least once, after sitting for 15 minutes and not have anyone even ask how I was - while a table two away that came in after me had the waitress sitting there with them! But this time - WHEW! GREAT service from Sarina - got drinks right away, took order right away, and brought food right away. And, brought condiments and/or refills WITHOUT having to be asked! Could not ask for better service. So will come back again - and this time sooner! Denny's in Hanford has become a place we won't return to. They used to offer an officer discount; however, now it's only if you are in uniform. The message this sends follows suit with the climate of the treatment of law enforcement in this country. My husband's position doesn't allow him to visit restaurants while on shift. So when we do eat at Denny's he is in plain clothes. The discount has never been about the money but rather the show of respect to those who risk their lives everyday. This is just another example of how little support our First Responders are provided. It saddens me to witness the steps we have taken backwards when it comes to being a United community & county! read more

To start - NO RATING BECAUSE THERE IS NO NEGATIVE SCALE. but this foolish site does not have a negative scale as noted! Since this location opened, I have been there 4 times. Twice with my wife and it was sh*tty food, ditto on the service. Twice with a friend and the same service as before but about 2 years apart. Since they moved to this location, the place went to you know what. They get no rating and this latest visit ordered soup and the first spoon was enough but did try another swipe at it and it ended back in the bowl. My sounds pancakes were burned and my fit slam looked horrible. Sad to say that the service is going downhill. It's not the servers it's the kitchen. I think it's time for the management to spark a fire and retrain the back of the house or hire be staff that wants to be there. Pride in ones job shows in their products. While the wait for the line did not take that long, it took 10 minutes just to order the food. manager is not walking around making sure the operation is running smoothly. Seems people are sat so they dont go anywhere else but once youre sat you get stuck for your food. I think its ridiculous... So I'm writing this review not I dined in here , but because I was interviewed here. With all my experience, Denny's was not my first choice for employment. But in these times , and being a mother of two small children , I had to suck it up and do what I had to do. I was interviewed once on September 8,2021 and again on September 10, 2021. I felt my first interview went great. My interview was respectful and polite. My second interview was something I had never experienced before. The questions were so obviously scripted, I feel like he didn't pay any attention to my answers at all. I really felt he made up his mind about me before I even sat down. My resume can be intimidating. I have worked at some great places. High volume and fast paced not to mention well known establishments. Another issue I had was him telling me he wanted to start me off as a host. Ok , so with someone with all my experience, unless I'm applying for a bartending position.... I should never start as a host. What he failed to mention at first was the hosting period would be my training period. That I totally understand. I wasn't surprised when I didn't receive a call. Although I was recently hired at a place that is a better fit for me, this interview still bothered me. So I decided to post this in case any other candidates apply here. And also in hope that they better train their managers for interviews. read more

First trip into the new location and was a disappointment. The service was not to bad considering the fact that they were understaffed which the manager informed the table behind us. My problem was that my order was incorrect and also they didn't bring my toast as well as my wife's order was incorrect. We never had a server check on us until we were finished and server brought our check. Once informed she didn't ask what could be done to rectify problem. At least comp a coffee or something considering they saved money by not serving my toast. I will give another try to see if it was a isolated incident or if that is the new service/quality standard. read more

Called in an order and as I get home I see that they gave me burnt toast, food had no flavor, food was over fried and was very dry. Really not happy with the food there any more and will not be returning to this Denny's any more and its sad because I love the food from there. Terrible service and staff. You can tell the management doesn't put a lot of effort into training their staff. My boyfriend and I came here for dinner and waited at least 5 minutes to be acknowledged after walking through the front door. I understand if we aren't seated right away, but a simple hello would make customers feel welcomed. Furthermore, when we were seated it took ages for a server to attended to us. If no stars was an option, that's what they would be getting! Me, my dad, 2 younger siblings, and my boyfriend came here yesterday 1/14/18 and the service was absolutely horrible! We came in and the lady was already rude, when we finally got seated it took them 20 minutes just to ASK US what we wanted to drink, so by then we were ready to order. They start bringing the food and it's all spaced out 10 to 15 minutes apart! This is just absolutely unacceptable and to top it off, my dad is a truck driver and he forgot to bring his trucker discount card, mind you he's been going to plenty of Denny's and used his CDL when he forgot his card and these people just for some reason would absolutely not honor it. I ate breakfast here on Friday and it literally felt like it was lasting forever. It took us over an hour to receive our food after we had ordered, not exaggerating. There wasn't even an apology. My family and I went to Denny's in Hanford on June 29, 2019. The waitress sat us down at the table gave us our menus and said if you need anything she will be up front. We sat there for 10 minutes while 3 waitress were at the counted talking. No one came over to our table to take our order. This is the worst Denny's I have ever been to. There was two waiters and they they both thought that the other one was going to help us. They didn't even gave us our drinks. As soon as we pulled into the parking lot we knew what we were in for, the parking lot was full and so was the over flow parking lot. It took us 10 minutes to get seated which was amazing considering the amount of people currently eating and the amount of people waiting to be seated. We opted to wait outside to keep the doorway clear for customers coming and going. They came outside and grabbed us when it was our turn to be seated. Once inside our server Arlene brought our drinks instantly. The table was clean, utensils were set, menus were ready for us to order. As we sat waiting for our food, it was amazing to see the Denny's team work collectively with the mass of customers being served. Our server Arlene was awesome, constantly filling our coffee and letting us know when your food was on its way. The Managers Heather & Lynette also made their rounds checking to make sure our service was great & to see if there was anything else we needed.
