When we arrived at the restaurant there were only 2 other patrons in the restaurant. We all ordered water, two of us ordered the Cali club w onion rings, one ordered a BLT w onion rings. There was one cook and one waitress and one host. It still took over 45 minutes to get our food. During this time a table was partially cleaned, the host made food for himself and started eating it behind the counter. At Denny's in Independence Ohio with my kids. You don't expect the world from Dennys, but I think at least a minimal level of service should be expected. Things with Solomon T started off OK and he seemed nice enough, but after we got our initial drinks and placed our order, the service level will dropped off completely. We got our food. My daughter's pancakes were almost burnt, but we rolled with it. I didn't get the onion rings I requested. I got fries, but I also decided to roll with it because the food already took a really long time But where things really went south as when we brought up that my other daughter didn't get the hash brown she requested Solomon just mumbled under his breath and we did not see him back at the table again after that. He saw that we had empty drinks twice on our table and did not offer to refill them and we had to get up and request our check to leave. Took less than 10 min for my omelet to be ready. Huge pancakes came with my omelet which were fluffy and fresh. We were recently on a fam' roadtrip, and for the Ohio-leg of our journey stayed in a hotel very near this Denny's. We ate at this Denny's for a late-breakfast one afternoon, during a slow time of day. The restaurant was bright and clean. We ordered build-your-own-Grand-Slams all the way round the table for our fam' of four, each with our own unique specifications. All of our food came out fairly fast, hot, and accurate. We are Denny's regulars, and this Denny's breakfast was the same food we're used to back at home--decent, affordable, no complaints. Our waitress was friendly, and kept our coffees and other beverages full. I had a 20%-off loyalty club coupon, and had no issues using the QR code here. We are hoping to travel back to this area for a fall roadtrip, and would gladly eat at this Denny's again. read more

We came here around midnight after a concert as the diner was open 24 hours. There was a lobby full of people waiting and we were told that there was only one cook, which we understood having had worked in the food industry before. They took our names down on a waiting list and it took about an hour from the time we walked in to the time we received our food, but it was well worth the wait. Our waiter was incredibly nice and I was quite impressed that he didn't even have to write our order down; he had such great memory. The staff handled everything well, despite the amount of people (and the amount that continued to come in). I'm not living in Cleveland currently, but this Denny's is better than the one near my house, just based off of how friendly the staff was and the quality of food despite only having one cook. I went there for breakfast in the 2 hrs I was there I got a total of 2 cups of coffee 2 nd one was after asking multiple times (40 min) almost got up and got it myself. My order was wrong three times ( I believe get what you pay for been in the industry for years over 12 yrs). t was high school after a night of drinking that I think was the last time I was at a Denny's. Now that I'm grown up, coming to a Denny's with aged parents was a totally different experience. It is much more diner-like than I remember. The menu is also more limited than I remember, but it had a couple items that would have made me happy. I got the grilled chicken salad with apples, cranberries and a candied nut. It had a nice variety of greens and a good amount of toppings. I was really impressed. It was very tasty. My dad got the same thing and Mom got a grilled sandwich of some sort with a big piece of meat in it. It came with a fruit cup that looked fabulous. Just tried to eat here. So I rarely go to Denny's, really I only order one thing that I occasionally get a craving for. Anyway I walked in knowing what I wanted. I got seated and handed a menu and was told somebody would be right with me. 15 minutes later and ive watched other tables come in and immediately get to order. In my time waiting I even made eye contact with one of the servers as she went about her job. I don't know why I got ignored, but eventually I'd had enough and left. Really, this restautant is not the type of place where people will tolerate shitty service just to eat the food. Independence has 50 other restaurants, I'll go elsewhere from now on. I think everybody has been to a Denny's before so I'm not really reviewing the food which is standardized across their entire restaurant chain. What I am giving four stars to is how accommodating, friendly, welcoming, and efficient the staff and manager are. I came here twice during my stay in Independance and each time I was treated very very well. The manager and all the wait staff are just so nice and polite. The first time I came here was late at night since nothing else was open. After I saw how clean it was and nice the staff were, I wasn't afraid to come back two days later and sit and have coffee. I must say the coffee was pretty good. Super hot like the way I like it, and I had to refuse refills once I got up to my limit of three. It's clean. It's friendly. I would come here again and would recommend it as the best Denny's I have ever been to. read more

I will never return to this Denny's. None of the waitresses wore masks, the plexiglass panels between the booths looked dirty and the food was not good. I have Stage 4 cancer and came by after having a CT scan. I was extremely uncomfortable with the waitress standing so close to and above me, while not wearing a mask. None of the staff wore masks. My scrambled eggs were overcooked and the underside was brown! The waitress offered to get new eggs. These were cooked properly but were greasy. They were swimming in a pool of oil/butter. If Denny's corporate does not require that all of the staff wear masks, especially with the Delta variant running rampant, I will never return to any Denny's. read more

Disappointing would be the understatement of the year. The from our seats we could see the pass through window in the kitchen. The manager was doing a phenomenal job getting the tickets out into the window, where many of them died. Servers would grab the wrong food, and overhearing some severs talking they rang up tickets incorrectly, thus the reason for the food in the window dying. Our server by himself, brought the wrong food to our table 3 times. My wife never got her correct order. The server, never took responsibility for the mistakes he made, just deflected the problems elsewhere. I went here with my brother after going to TopGolf. The gentleman who served us was very kind even though he was very stressed. He made it clear when we came in that he was the only server present and there was one cook and that it may take longer than normal. My brother and I assured him that we were in no rush and would be okay with the wait times. Even with being on his own, our food came out warmer and faster than most other restaurants do with a full staff. We waited 30 minutes to be seated ONLY because the busser wasn't doing his job. It's dirty; there is dust and dead bugs on the windowsill. After we were seated, we heard the host tell the people in line that it would be a long wait, probably 35 minutes, because the waitress was "stressed out." He also told a customer, after she was seated, that it would "probably take a little while to take your order." I have never had an experience like this at a restaurant. Probably the worst Denny's I've been to. First off when we ordered coffee, there were lipstick and coffee stains still on the cups from previous customers. Also there was still food on the silverware. Whoever is cleaning the dishes needs to be trained better. You'd think during COVID they'd do a better job of cleaning but this wasn't the case. The service wasn't bad, food was okay, I don't expect to get the best meal if I'm eating at Denny's. But the least you could do is make sure everything is clean. read more
