Twice now, we decided on Danny's and didn't go in either time. Both times, their property had litter everywhere. Very unappetizing presentation and makes you wonder if they don't care. An employee, a trash bag, and a picker tool once or twice a day for 15 minutes would take care of that, but I guess it's not a priority to them. Went there a good few times with different friends (who voted to go not me) Everytime my food was bad order was wrong, and my friends were wrong, when they got my order wrong they took the food back and gave it to someone else (during the pandemic) it was disgusting. I don't eat there but if my friends go I'll for now on just sit in there and wait until they are done.. If your a neat freak or clean freak don't go. If you clean fresh plates. Don't go. And if you want actual warm food, Unfortunately don't go.. They need to replace the managers and employees, and start over. Here's a hint. One of my friends found gum in a menu, and we told the waitress and no lie we went back a few months later thinking (hell it's got to of changed by now?!) We came in as a group of 6 plus 1 kid on Christmas Day and was given a wait time of 1 hour which was understandable considering it was Christmas. After an hour and 15 minutes and watching countless large groups getting sat we asked how much longer the wait was to be told that it would be 40 more minutes. I totally understand a longer wait time on holidays after working in the food industry but come on people, get it together. Keep your list accurate and customers happy. Our server, while nice was slow and unorganized. We sat for no less than five minutes before she took our drink orders, we even decided what we wanted to eat and still had to order drinks and food separately, no sort of multitasking. She is the perfect example of who should not be a server. My food came out cold and soggy due to sitting at the counter. If I wasn't as hungry as I was I would have sent it back and left. Very dirty and infested with roaches. I am very disappointed in Denny's. The exterminator is suppose to come today so hope u don't get bug spray in ur food. Still had to pay 50% of the food that my 16 month old daughter and I didn't even get to eat!! I have pictures of the roach I will be posting. This just happened last night.. Ok so me and some friends go to this Denny's on a Saturday night and get here a little before 12 took a while for us to get seated, and when we did get seated it took 30 minutes for the waitress to take my table of 8 drinks. That's not where our problems ended after we waited 30 minutes for our drinks we were ready to order an had to wait an additional 10 minutes to get our order taken. Then on top of that after over an hour of being here we still had not received our orders, an when we did get our food they only gave 4 of the 8 of my party there food an half of the food was cold, and thrown together such horrible presentation. read more

Got off work late (10pm) and made the mistake of dining at this dump. Even though there were only 3 other customers, waited approximately 5 minutes to be seated....then was escorted to a filthy table with crumbs all over the seat. Waitress was rude (acted like I should be honored to be served by her). Appetizer arrived 1 min before my burger and fries, ruining the meal. Cheese sticks were cold and soggy, burger was overcooked...the only thing really edible was the fries. Dining area was so cold that my entire meal was cold 5mins after arriving at table. Myself and other customers had empty glasses with nothing to drink, but were treated to the old waitress and manager discussing their personal problems. Will never enter this dump again. read more

At 3 a.m. this was the best stop. My food was cooked to perfection. I purchased the prime rib Philly melt sandwich with red skinned potatos. Steak sandwich was good portion, potatos were cooked right with great flavor. The reason why this review was so important to me is I read the previous reviews and score prior to ordering. I was expecting average everything based on the reviews. Being a truckdriver, I have visited Dennys in most states all across the U.S. purchasing this same item. (This is the ONLY thing I order from here). I've noticed that I get different portion size of steak and potatoes at each location. Do not understand that with Dennys, in general. I applaud this location on my first time experience at this location. Except for the girl forgetting my ranch and steak sauce after specifically requesting it with order, this was TOP NOTCH experience. read more

I would stay away from Denney's in Morganton. The service while polite is basically disorganized. The Kitchen staff is obviously not trained. I Order the Lumberjack Slam and it came out in three different stages and at various degrees of warmth. Toast came out last after we had finished the majority of my meal and was basically cold. Management seemed to be unconcerned with these ongoing issues. Overall not a good experience and I will not be back. read more

Not one of the waitstaff did not have an attitude. Two of them were even arguing behind the counter loud enough for the whole restaurant to hear while we were eating. Stopped in coming home from Winston-Salem, and honestly it made me worried to see only one table with people in it, considering that it is right off of I-40 (one of, if not North Carolina's largest and most traveled motorways) on exit 103. So I am seated and a very friendly and cheery waitress takes my order, which was a Prime Rib Philly Melt with Seasoned Fries. I notice a nice thing about this place was the older diner like style of the interior, somewhere like a truck driver would stop for a hot cup of coffee, with a touch of modern that is enough to welcome the families of four that are on road trips. The service was quite slow, but honestly it was way faster than the time it takes at the Forest City location. Frequent checks on satisfaction with the food were made by multiple waitresses, and I have to say, it was good food. So, if you find yourself pulling onto exit 103 on I-40 and you're feeling a little hungry, I would recommend this Denny's location. Aside from it's unappealing exterior, scary lack of customers, and slower service, this location does serve pretty good food! read more

If I could give no stars I would. We stopped by here tonight for dinner. I ordered some pancake puppies first and what we received were balls of soggy grease laden mess. My husband and I both ordered burgers and my son ordered pancakes. The place was less than half full at this point. I could see the kitchen and food window from our seat. I watched the cook put our order on a tray and call for the server. She was busy remaking our neighbor table's dessert that she had messed up. I watched another server walk over and take one of our burgers off the tray and put it on her tray and deliver it to her table. By the time my server got over there, she looked at the ticket and told the cook a burger was missing. Then the manager went back there. I watched as my burger and son's pancakes sat there for 30 minutes. The server comes over saying they were remaking my husband's burger and it would be soon. I told her I wanted to speak with the manager. There is no way I was eating that food now. It sat in that window for almost 45 minutes! The manager brings my husband's lovely fresh burger to our table. I tell her we don't want the food. There s no way I am eating the food in that widow. Nor am I allowing my son to eat those pancakes as I am sure they are like rocks. She proceeds to tell us we can wait and she will remake our food too. I was like no. I will pay for these drinks and grease balls and go. She didn't make us pay for that. She told us not to worry about it and that we could just leave. As we are leaving the girl at the register stops us, demanding to see our check. I told her we don't have one, and the manager said we could go. She made me stand there while she looked for the manager, and when the manager comes over, no apology for basically accusing us of trying to steal. We will never be back. Ok to start off my waitress left half way through our meal...not because it was her time to get off but because she had her over dramatic melt down and couldn't handle the most simplest task of changing my chocolate shake to a cookie and milk shake. We had to wait 15 mins before even getting a refill on our drinks and we didn't even get half the food we ordered. I am not pleased with the menu changes. I most usually order the club sandwich. This time, however, it was brought to me on brown bread (not toasted) comprised of seven grains. That's ok for somebody that wants that, but having always ordered without a menu I had no idea there was a change. The waitress said I can have a side with it. I asked if the sandwich came with fries and she said yes. I asked again for clarification, she said yes. So I assumed the side she said I could order was separate from the sandwich/fries. Ok, so I ordered a side salad. She brought it without fries and I said, "I thought the club came with fries," she said, "No, that's a side." I said, "Ok, that's why I asked if fries are included,"... Ugh. Anyway, no biggie, just a misunderstanding, but added to the unpleasant way they've changed the standard club sandwich. I cannot understand why they take something that has been a standard for so long and cast this "new age" spell on it. I happen to like unhealthy white bread (toasted)!! read more
