We have ate at quite a few Denny's locations over the years but this one in Oroville, Ca has to be the worst! The Food was gross ( how do you mess up breakfast? ) and the service was horrible the staff was so inattentive the other tables walked out without paying... we waited over 15min just to get our check on top of the 45min to get our food and the 15min for someone to take our order. read more

I imagine it's management, of course it is...but the service is incredibly slow and our server is devastated feeling all will go wrong and it will be their fault. The cooks are lackadaisical, the food...I hope and imagine will be fantastic...however it's been 20 minutes since ordering the appetizer, which we warned would be consumed before the meal being ordered. We went ahead and ordered the meal. More to come...the food I've had here before has been amazing, the service is always labored, but friendly.*side note bathrooms are both flooded...management issue. The servers were so very sweet, and there was more than enough staff for the three tables with guests. They seemed overwhelmed and were endlessly apologetic. We ordered food through door dash from "the melt down" which ended up being Dennys. Had I known I would not have ordered food from them at all! 3/4 of our order was completely wrong. We received someone else's order. They were completely rude to the delivery driver when he tried to ask how long the wait would be they completely ignored him several times. I not only had a horrible experience at the restaurant, but the customer service rep that responded to my email stated: "I apologize for the unpleasant experience you had at our location due to the quality of service from your server, the issues with your milkshake and the way that your food order was handled. Your comments have been documented and forwarded to the executive members of our leadership team and the franchise owner to address. I understand that this apology won't erase your unpleasant experience. It is my hope that you will give Denny's another opportunity to serve you". Disgusting dining room floors, tables, and even the menus were filthy. Was seated and waited for someone to greet us/ask what we wanted to drink, and we sat there For several minutes with no contact.. finally got up and asked for a manager and was greeted with the "shift manager" whom was our server! She said she just got back her break is why she didn't get to us sooner, so we asked for the main manager and she came over.. we told her the situation and what was wrong, and at that time, the shift manager/waitress said "i refuse to serve them! You deal with them." And walked away.. so we asked for the owners name and number and told the manager that we wanted the rude lady gone for the rudeness, and she giggled and said "that'll never happen... Long story ending.. Rude staff, unclean restaurant including their menus, and don't have signage for their sales from television either.. Seated us at a table that wasn't wiped down. Took forever to come check on us and ask about drinks & when they finally did I asked for a 2,4,6,8 menu. She walked away and never came back. A different person brought us our drinks (20 minutes later) and I wound up taking the menu asked for off a table near when someone left because she started seating more people and running food instead of bringing me a menu real quick so that I could actually pick my order before they came back around. I had the worst service in my life on Thursday. Hadn't been to Denny's in years and decided to go for a girls morning. Absolutely horrible service. Food was what I would expect, always is. We walked in, sat there for a good 15 min never being acknowledged. Finally someone came to seat us. Sat there for another 10-15 min no one acknowledged us for drinks, nothing. I stopped a girl walking to the kitchen and she in talking to me blamed the other girl for not taking our order and said I guess I'll take it. Then did and walked off. Then in came a group of emt and sat down across from us. Another 10-15 minutes go by still no drinks at our table. And mind you during this entire time they didn't give my child a menu or crayons. I had to go to the front counter and get my own. I stopped a girl and asked where our drinks were as the emts were now eating and had drinks and we still hadn't seen our drinks. Finally get them. Eventually our food arrived. And then they forgot about the To go order so we waited more. Then when we went to pay and leave same thing happened as at the beginning. Stood there while girls kept walking around but no one came up to cash us out for 10 minutes or so. It was seriously the worst service I've seen in my life all the way around. Hopefully management will fix these issues with their schedule to allow staff the ability to provide quality service. There are not many breakfast options in town and others will go elsewhere if being treated this way regularly. read more

Husband and I love coming here for breakfast, but this last time we came was by far the worst experience we've had here. Husband had to get his steak re-cooked twice, and it STILL was wrong. He had to insist that it was taken off of our ticket. I had to eat while he had nothing, and we're still waiting for a steak that's probably not coming. Couldn't change our daughter in the bathroom because the bathrooms were DISGUSTING. We mentioned something to a server, said it super politely, but it was never taken care of. Wow where do I even start... The only saving grace is there pancakes, eggs were cold and greasy the bacon was limp and depressed. The ice tea was more water then tea. When it comes to service "or the lack there of" is in a sad state. As I waited for a refill on my pancakes "a 30 min wait " a older couple came in and had a seat while they waited to be seated but all they waited for was to be ignored. They waited 20-30 min for a waitress to notice them... The restaurant wasn't even busy and to hear what looked to be a manager belittle his staff saying how he had to fix her mistake with a rude tone loud enough for the restaurant to hear. Our second time at this dennys with HORRIBLE service and this time bad food. Burnt pancakes, rock hard biscuits, butter that tastes like a moldy refrigerator, and we (and others) were served food without silverware. A couple next to us was unhappy with their food as well! It took about 5 minutes for them to even take our drink order. Another 5 for a refill. The waitress gave us our bill (price up, even) about a quarter of the way through our meal without even asking us if we needed anything else or if we liked our food. We tried giving this place a second chance but it seems just because it's closer to home doesnt mean its better. Next time, we'll be taking the extra time to go elsewhere. read more

for some reason it seems though every time I come in here this placed is completely empty compared to Dennys from other towns. It also seems service is really really slow. Being that the diner is always empty it usually takes about 10-20 minutes in order to get seated. Portions are skimpy, and so is the service. My family and I came in one night as a group of 8, after about 15 min we were seated and about 25 min later our orders were finally taken. We sat there waiting for an hr, there was no servers out. Seemed like all the workers were in the back just kickin it or something. After waiting another 15.min and not seeing anyone, we leftt tired and hungry. Would not come back. read more

The place has gone down hill since it first opened . First , there was loud explicit, foul language music coming from the kitchen for the entire hour that we were there . I had my eight yr old with me. The interior is dingy , looks like it needs a thorough clean . Finally, the food was either undercooked or overcooked . Just had an order out experience that was terrible. My wife and I ordered pancakes and French toast and left. After getting home we found they did not put the French toast in the bags. We live farther out and it didn't make sense to go back; just frustrating. When I called they were unapologetic. I asked if we could get the French toast if we came back and the gentleman said, "I guess". Customer service needs an adjustment. read more

The waitress was doing a good job for being the only one waiting all of the tables. Other than that, we waited over an hour for our food, our drinks were not filled, obviously because the waitress was very busy dealing with every single customer in the restaurant. I felt bad for her and you could tell she was stressed out and it seemed like no one was doing there job except her. I even heard people saying in the back that were cooking that they wanted to go home and she told them to go if they wanted to. When we were done with our food we waited about 30 minutes to finally get our check. I'm sorry but spending two hours at a restaurant with a two year old was not a very good experience. Today was the last time I will ever eat at this place again. The service was horrible. We had to wait at least 45 minutes for our food. I had to ask for refills on my coffee one took a half hour to get and the other never came. My food was very small portions and my sisters was gross, burnt and the pancakes were cold and rubbery. The worst part of the whole experience was when I was paying and I mentioned to the manager Sharee that they seemed under staffed. She said no we are not. It didn't end there. Generally this Denny's is a good location but this last visit on my little brothers birthday everything was going well until the pancakes were brought out. Each pancake had this black ash or like grill tar in them and the waiter STILL SERVED THEM TO US LIKE NOTHING WAS WRONG!!!!!!!! The waitress told us that this location did buy or pay to have the grill cleaned in lord knows how long....meaning we could all be potentially eating hep c infested food from a poorly taken care of grill... Fucking gross and seriously unprofessional. I believe the management should hold a meeting and get on top of this locations issues ASAP. This is one of my favorite locations in the 530 area but this last visit was a eye opener. The waitress was sweet as pie though. read more

Ordered: Avocado chicken sandwich. Avocado was VERY unripe. Was hard that I'm wondering how they cut it to put on my sandwich .. Chainsaw ? Asked server to get get us avocado that was ripe. He came back with, no joke, brown avocado. Looked nasty. Veggie omelet with chicken sans cheese. Of course when it was served it had cheese on it. So had to wait for it to be remade. Bacon from the kids meals were stale and OLD. Gross tasted like burnt plastic. Service was slow. We had one napkin and one set of silverware. Just not a good Denny's. Every time I come here, I get greeted and served right away. They gave us the menu and gave us time. Check with us to make sure if we were ready and took our order right away. The waiting wasn't too bad. Your typical 5-10 minutes wait. Food is always fresh and hot too! Drinks were perfectly yummy! Once our food was served, every now n then they would come check up on us if everything is good, and what's so. I really enjoy my time there. read more
