I wish there was a ZERO star review-Not for Dennys itself-but for the server Cheyanne. Not only was her service incredibly rude, but she also then threw my receipt at my face because SHE rung up 3 things wrong. Now I totally understand when things get busy it is hard to keep up with everything, but there was only 2 other tables seated, and she never checked on us once. There were 4 of us total- NONE of the eggs were cooked (they all looked like runny snot) and 2 of us ordered pancakes and asked for syrup 3 times, that we had to flag her down for.. After explaining that the bill was rung up wrong and that NONE of us could eat our eggs (which we clearly left on the table) she rudely said "Well if you would have told me sooner maybe I could have done something" it's hard to tell you sooner if you never checked on us once. Our drinks were empty, our food was awful (which was not her fault, but it is her job responsibility to check on how everything is before throwing the bill), and she had an awful attitude the entire time. I asked to speak to the manager before leaving-which I found out he was the cook for the day so I do understand but that does not excuse the awful behavior she displayed. The woman who helped check out and pay fixed the issues on the bill, and kindly took off the cost of the eggs. I am more than happy to pay for what I ate, but I am so very disappointed in how we were treated here by her. I am not normally a reviewer nor a "Karen" but I could not keep quiet about this situation. I have never been so disrespected before in my life by a server. Cheyanne-if you read this I hope that you take this as an opportunity to realize the effect your attitude has on your clients. I'm new in town and I always try a place 3 times before deciding if I'll go back or not. That being said, I won't go back to this restaurant. Service was extremely slow. On our last trip out, we waited 10 minutes before being seated. The server couldn't remember anything. She kept forgetting things...including us. Our drinks were only refilled if we pulled her aside and asked. By the time we got our food it was an hour from the time we walked in to the time the plates hit our table. (There was only 5 tables occupied) Try keeping a preschooler entertained that long. When we got our food, the portions were small, eggs were overdone and rubbery, and the hash browns were burnt and underdone. The food was cold. Poor service never got seated . There was no host the 2 only servers were everywhere . One of them said all seat you in 5 minutes and was already standing there for 15 minutes without been seen then a cook came by and said 5 minutes again that was 39 minutes later yes my kids were hungry and exited for hot coco and pancakes before we got the rode but never got to a table we went back home to Phoenix starving .. I guess they need to have more then 2 servers in the only Denny's that they have in Payson It is so disappointing for this nice town. read more

Always consistent! Nothing truly unusual, but you know what to expect and sometimes that is what I am looking for. For those of you who have food allergies (which I was recently diagnosed with) there is a wonderfully detailed allergens & sulfites nutritional information listing that I easily found online and now have as an app on my iphone. This makes my ordering experience far easier, and more comfortable for all involved. Thank you Denny's for being one of those places making my life a bit easier. read more

It's Denny's, I don't expect very much right off the bat maybe just casual diner style service, but yesterday was hands down the worst service experiance of my life. My boyfriend and I are both servers and we have both worked in restaurants for years, so basically anyone that serves us has a very easy table and will make easy money. Shelby was our server, she never introduced herself I learned this from our receipt. It started off pretty okay, we ordered some stuff to start off with and made it known we would be ordering much more food. She dropped off our appetizers we happily dug in and set our plates at the end of the table for her to pick up on her way by. She didn't. She came back to get our food order, I joked about the amount of food we were eating and she made a sour comment about how she's pregnant and eating a lot too. Am I supposed to be sorry? I'm not sure. Also, a 6 top walks in while she's at our table, and she could not be more bothered by the woman asking for a table. Anyway we place our order, she leaves, plates are still on the table. I waited about 10-15 minutes for the milkshake I ordered to arrive, and when it finally did, it was just the glass. No "little extra" in the tin cup that they are known for and it also says explicitly on the menu. Instead my boyfriend watches her devour the other half of my freaking milkshake over my shoulder. At this point it's a little comical, she made guilty eye contact with him and scurried away. While we're waiting for our food she begins complaining very loudly about the morning shift and how nobody rolled any silverware. Our food arrives, she leaves, doesnt ask if we need anything, I am missing butter and the appetizer plates are still sitting at the end of the table. She resumes her obnoxious complaints about silverware, brings what appeared to be the manager and other server over to see how much silverware was not done, and continued to tell them about the silverware. We're eating our food, the silverware tales finally quiet down and then we hear what sounds like every single peice of silverware fall on the floor. She swears at it, I finally go ask for some freaking butter, she brings it over to our table, apologizes, leaves quickly and still leaves the dirty plates. We finished eating and waited 15-20 minutes for her to remember us only because my boyfriend called her to the table for our check. She never asked how our meal was, even though we were the only people in the establishment until halfway through our visit. She never seemed to have time for us, never looked in our direction. And then when I was paying her and tipped 10% she had the audacity to ask if anything was wrong. I gave her a look and she took 10% off of our bill... Maybe that was for the half of my milkshake she decided was or her... Who knows, she's a terrible server and desperately needs to be trained in the service industry. read more

Just walked out of Dennys restaurant a party of 8. Husband and I took our coffees that we bought from circle k . After they sat us down they told us we couldn't bring our drinks because of there liquor license. We just decided to leave and go have breakfast somewhere else. They don't even have a sign that states you can't bring your drinks in. So we googled another restaurant near by and we found bee line cafe . One they didn't mind us bringing in our own coffee . And the food was awesome . I don't recommend Denny's to anyone if your visiting Payson soon. By the way this is my first yelp review I've ever done . Denny's is supposed to be a family restaurant right? Not this one.... Horrible service. Waited about 15-20mins for drinks after we were seated. Food another 1 hour. Half of our group got our food and the other half of our group got our food but 1 hr and 20 mins later. Our food was cold!!! Who wants to eat a meal that's supposed to be hot cold!! Really?? This was not a very good experience at all. We had to wait 15 minutes to be seated. There was one person ringing up people's bills when they were finished AS WELL as cleaning off the tables, and seating people. After we were seated our server came immediately to our table and asked what we wanted to drink, and then asked if we were ready to order yet. We had not even opened the menus at this point. She came back twice in less than a minute so we felt rushed to order. Then after we received our food, my husband thought that he was supposed to have toast or a biscuit with his meal. He asked if that was true. The waitress said, "You pick from hash browns or bread item. I already asked you what you wanted between the two, and you said hash browns so you do not get a bread item." She was not very friendly. It was not like my husband was demanding toast, we probably missed that on the menu, but I thought a server was there to ask questions if we had any. We ate our meals. She never refilled my husband's sprite or my coffee once. Finally after sitting there 10 minutes after we were done eating, we just got up to go to the cashier, we did not even wait for our bill. It was not busy at this time since there were open tables all around us. The manager was up there and we told him our experience. He said, "I apologize, so sorry, let me give you 20% off." Then he ran our credit card and said thank you. I did not get the feeling that he really cared about our experience, he just wanted to send us on our way. Don't mind the occasional breakfast at Dennys, but this was the worst meal I've ever had there! Ordered the Lumberjack slam. Asked for eggs over easy, extra crispy hashbrowns, and sourdough toast. Meal showed up in a timely fashion but had to ask for silverware. Hashbrowns weren't crisp at all. Sent them back. Returned to me in less than 3 minutes and were no crisper but looked to be shiney and coated in cooking oil. Waitress had the gall to ask me if they were crisp enough as if she couldn't tell the difference from the first time she brought them. Eggs were cooked hard. Ham was unseared and tasteless. Sausage was broken in half but still served to me. Toast was soggy from too much butter and I didn't eat them. Got one serving of ice tea and the refill was only offered at the end of the meal which came soon. Ate only 1/4 of it. Disgusting!! Complained to lady at register who deducted 2 whole dollars and had the nerve to ask if I wanted to leave a tip. Did not. My son and I paid 23 dollars for 1/2 a meal and lousy uncaring service and a cook who needs training. Will never go there again when we visit Payson in the future. read more

We arrived at this Denny's about 7:30PM on a Monday night. We were one of three tables in the place and the service was extremely slow. We got our drinks right away, but it took forever for the waitress to come back to take our order. Then it took even more time to get it to the table. Although there were two waitresses, 1 cook and one cleanup guy (cook?) it seemed they were more interested in getting their side work done than waiting tables. When the Southwest Turkey Melts arrived, the avocado was very dark and old. Asked the waitress to ask the cook if he would eat that. She replaced it with a fresh sandwich and later offered a free milk shake or iced tea but by that time we were too tired and disgusted to even consider it. We paid the bill and left $1.50 tip on an $18.00 charge. We got out of there at 9:00PM. Never again! read more

Food was very good..Servce was Horrible..We waited to be seated and when we got to the table the table was not cleaned..We were told to stand there while she cleaned the table but while we stood there 1other table wanted their checks and one table wanted drinks.. We stood there and finally took a seat on our own.. We were waited on by James..Never came to ask us if we needed refills which we did..When we were done we waited 20 minutes for our check and finally got another waitress to give us the check..I felt bad for the waitress who was workign and ringing up customers..Parking lot also had a lot of people hanging around which made me feel uneasy. We arrived around 5:30 pm 5/4/2017. We were seated immediately and our drinks brought, with the comment "I'll be back for your order". There was under 5 tables filled at that time. When we noticed that she had not returned for our order, I tried to get her attention, unsuccessfully. She was busy conversing with a group at a table in the back , also filling salt shakers and misc. items. We realized we had been there over 45 minutes and had never been asked for our order. Worst service I have ever received. Never eating here again. Long wait had to get up and ask the waiter to take our order. Terrible customer service, the waitress was rude. Food was not cooked to order. My pancake puppies where burnt and shaped nothing like the picture. I felt sick after eating them. Worst place to eat in Payson. The Hubster and I took the kids to Payson for the day to have some fun without melting. We decided to have dinner at Denny's and it is probably the first time I have been in one in 4 years. The waitress seemed a little on the "I hate my job, so I'm not really gonna talk to you" side, but I don't really blame her so not gonna bag on her too much. Besides, she brought me ranch without me asking so maybe she was just having a bad day. The other staff seemed very friendly. I ended up ordering the buffalo chicken sandwich and it was AMAZING!! The bread it was on was so good! I highly recommend it to anyone and everyone! read more
