Well, our Denny's here in Red Bluff has closed. Either the business wasn't good enough to keep the money coming in or the service staff just could keep it open cause maybe no one wanted to work here. I POSTED A PIC OF THE NOTICE ON THE DOOR! In the past it was decent, but that was years ago. I'd stop in for food driving up the 5 in a big rig years ago, and it was the only place open. I used to like the free gran slam breakfast you were able to get on your birthday. Then that change where you had to join their club and get an invite from Denny in an email. Forget that. I guess we'll see if it reopens. NOPE, no reopening, they just took down the Denny's sign! At least there's a new IHOP and Applebee's here in town. We'll see how that does! OK time to go somewhere else for breakfast food. Actually Denny's lunch food was better than the breakfast food! read more

If you spend any time reading my reviews, you will find that I do not rate on an "overall" scale. Rather, I rate based on how the establishment stacks up against its similar counterparts. I've given a Taco Bell 5-stars not because it was the best Mexican food I'd ever eaten, but because it was a 5-star Taco Bell. The same stands for this Denny's. Every single person we encountered was friendly. The restaurant was clean, but some traditional charm still remained. Every food item was exactly right. So much so, when I remembered to take a picture, there wasn't much left to photograph. We split a Lumberjack Slam and were both satisfied. After a morning of driving from Sacramento, this was the perfect first stop of the day. Whether you are traveling 1-5 or "The 5," if you need breakfast, consider this Denny's. read more

My husband and I eat at Denny's often. The food is always excellent!! We've ordered steak, burnt ends, pot roast, hamburgers, salmon, pork chops, etc. Always very tender and seasoned well. The service is excellent always. I believe they have a cook that's been there 30 years. I hope they pay their cooks well because they put out some good dishes! The restaurant is also clean. If there was one thing I had to change, it would be their side green salad. The lettuce needs to be more crisp, and the ranch dressing needs to be thicker. It is runny and bland tasting. Today, 11/26 around 9:45-10am. My family and I were greeted by a very kind hostesses/server Christina. She was very patient and took our order promptly. All the ladies working there looked like they were working extremely hard and you could tell they're all doing such a great job. I was very impressed by everyone and seeing them work. Even the employees in the back blew my mind with how hard they were working and smiling at everyone. EVERYONE THERE DESERVES A RAISE!!!!! I was in town getting our rental property ready for the new tenant and had been working on it all morning. My son and I took a break to go and get breakfast and started off at another popular nearby restaurant but unfortunately ended up leaving after waiting an extremely long amount of time for our order without receiving it and due to a having a poor customer service experience. We decided to try Denny's. The restaurant was very clean and all of the staff encountered were very pleasant. Our waitress Alexis was amazing and went above and beyond to provide us with excellent customer service. It's evident that she truly cares about the customers. It was terrible. Food quality poor. Service was non existent. Staff unprofessionally talking about personal life. One even took money out of the cash register cause the claw machine "took" his money from his kid. Cook came out cussing and what not. Please do not eat here. It's a waste of money. Awful, greasy food, slow and dirty restaurant staff was overly loud with personal conversation and not appropriate language.

Since I enjoyed the food, atmosphere, and yes ambience lol the last time I went to Denny's I decided to try it again. The weather has been FREEZING with lots of rain and snowflakes lately so Denny's prolly had a HIGHER number of "vagabonds" than Normal, but guess That, SAME gal was waitressing and she treated EVERYONE the same. I appreciated that and the fact that she let them stay inside. The bathrooms were clean, inside was clean and fairly busy. The waitress was funny and engaging and has a wicked sense of humor. The salad I ordered was nice and crispy just the way I like it! The mashed potatoes I had tho LOOKED runny didn't TASTE runny but I could tell who ever made them added too much water. Not enuf tho for me to send it back. I hadn't been to DENNYS in prolly 3... 4 years! look at me now!???!! I've gone twice in one month!! Come check em out P. S. The absolute grossest Philly sandwich ever a nasty brown 'cheese sauce' was dumped on it with fivish pieces of 'meat' and a soggy roll . Soft NOT crunchy onion rings.. an omelet with only half the advertised ingredients, told would be given discount but charged MORE for avocado. Hash browns that the crispy top just lifts off and the rest DRY AF! We didn't couldn't even attempt to make a dent in the food and were too afraid to eat the Philly , it didn't even look safe to eat. Will never eat at a Denny's anywhere! No wonder people crash into the building.. how absolutely detestable! The waitress bailed leaving one waiter and the cook serving people. This place is gross. It's just faded and worn. Like an old movie theater seat with a sticky floor. There's a certain sweetness about the camaraderie between the cook, who looks like he'd been changing oil all day at the jiffy lube before he punched in to cook your eggs here, and the local ruff necks that stagger in for a meal and say hi to the waitresses. The food is not quite real. I've never really been to a Denny's and now know why. The scrambled eggs I ordered seem to have "fake" cheese cooked throughout them and were likely a powdered pre-mixed concoction before the were fried. Grease seeping out of things that don't need grease. And just a bad deal.... not real food. The toast seemed okay. This should not be a stop for any hungry person. Keep looking. Denny's is a scam. Dennys used to be such a great value for breakfast, used to love their grand slams & pick four. Prices have tripled in the last few years, and the quality just isn't there. Solid 3 for average hamburger, onion rings & a large green salad (good value for green salad at $7.50 but the lettuce was rather tired & sad). A-plus friendly service which was well appreciated. The place needs a good scrubbing, clean the salt and pepper shakers, floors, tables, paint the walls & you'd have a great diner experience. Dennys is kind of an add water and butter grill it up and call it a meal diner! It is what it is. Ths particular Dennys is a step back in tm. It's in need of an overhaul as does its regular waitresses. Sorry ladies. It's true. You all are as dated as Solid Gold itself! Maybe that's why the service here is so damned slooooooow. They were very accommodating, especially Taylor, who served these people their meals and was very good to me on the phone. The manager even gave them pie for dessert on the house! My husband, niece, and I went here for breakfast. My husband got an omelette and it honestly looked like they put kraft cheese singles on items his toast was burnt. I got the grand slamwich and it was just thrown together and not very flavorful. Our niece ordered chocolate chip pancakes and bacon and the bacon was so paper thin, I'm surprised they even served it. Since our first visit was decent, we thought we would try this place again. This was a big mistake! The place was packed for a Saturday afternoon. Forgetting that most of town was without electricity, which is while we were there. We were seated at the one table open. We were seated quickly. There were 5 waitresses and 2 cooks working. They were all working very hard. Our waitress was wonderful and kept our coffee cups filled. She states they had been trying to hire for all positions, all shifts, but couldn't find anyone. I could see why after spending an hour there. Our food took 30 minutes to receive. It was hot, not that tasteful and way over priced. For 4 of us, each having a " normal everyday " meal was almost $47. There was no silverware, ketchup, sugar on the table. Had to ask for or get up and get it. The bathrooms were dirty, the entryway into the restaurant was filthy. Wish I had seen that early. To sum it up, don't eat here. When the waitress tells you not to, you don't. Stopped in for a quick lunch, first impression was a smelly place that has fingerprints on all the stainless steel and I stood for almost 10 minutes without being greeted and as I turned to leave the waitress asked if I'd like to be seated so I stayed. The menu was dirty and hasn't been cleaned in a very long time. It took half an hour to make my plate and when it came I had no silverware and the ketchup bottle was empty. Windows need to be cleaned employees wear their hats backward. The servers talk across the restaurant about their personal conversations.
